ok just went and fiddled with it with a small screwdriver.....it's not easy for sure. tried it on my ego.....working ok.....but still not on the MVP or the VV3.....not even with the adapter...grrrrrr..... not happy about that. I do really like the taste and would buy more if I knew they would work on my innokin products....but so far no luck.
maybe I would have more luck with the ones with an EGO conn. instead of the 510. Just about to give up on them and don't really want to.

Sorry if this has been answered before, I didn't search all the way through the thread.

I received my MVP2 yesterday and I'm loving it so far. I do have 1 question, though:

I have a ProTank 2 that I use with 2.2 Ohm coils (for now, anyway, and not sure if that matters to this discussion). On my generic eGo, it had a wonderfully airy draw that I got used to and kinda liked. When I put the same tank on my MVP 2, the draw seems to tighten up significantly (think a straw in a thinner milkshake vs a straw in water). I find myself sucking a lot harder to feel like I'm getting a draw on it, and it might be affecting the flavor of the juice.

I'm using the stock beauty ring from the MVP 2 (not sure if that matters), but I had the same kind of issue even without it. It feels like I'm sucking too hard and therefore flooding the tank.

Anyone have any ideas on this? Hopefully something other than "try the iClear 30 that came with the tank". I'd like to be able to correct the issue with the ProTank first before moving on to another one.

You could try something like this. I have one (not purchased from this link). It works for some of my mods. I do not have the mvp2 yet. (On wishlist)

I received my MVP v2 yesterday. So far, I love it, but I quickly realized I have no idea how to use it. I know about variable voltage, as I've used the ego VV v1 and various twists, but I have no idea about the watttage. The owners manual was a joke, just about anyone could figure out how to charge it and so forth. I'm going to have to find so information on how to use this puppy correctly.

Just remember one thing, when you adjust voltage on a vv battery, you are actually adjusting the voltage so that you will have a specific wattage at the coil. If you have more than one clearomizer, you might notice when you change tanks, you have to retweak your voltage settings. This is because of variations of resistance between clearomizers.

Variable wattage allows you to set wattage to taste, and when you change tanks, the battery will sense the resistance on the new tank and adjust voltage automatically.

the MVP does both, but not at the same time. If it is in variable voltage mode. It will fire the set voltage every time irregardless of the resistance on the atomizer head. If it is in variable wattage mode, it will automatically adjust voltage to maintain a constant wattage.

I personally like variable wattage because I can switch tanks and get consistent vape quality without having to further adjust my battery.

Some people like variable voltage because they can 'fine tune' the voltage to the exact value they like.

The best example I heard is comparing vv and vw to transmission types.
If vv is a manual transmission, then vw is like an automatic. They both perform the same function, just do it in different ways.

If you push the U button and adjust for voltage, then the battery is in variable voltage mode and will stay in that mode until you press the p button.
If you push the P button and adjust for wattage, then the battery is in variable wattage mode and will stay in that mode until you press the u button.

For more details on the operation of the unit, you can check out the review I wrote for the MVP 2 here:

Here are my thoughts after using my MVP 2 for a few weeks. It doesn't feel as consistent as my Darwin. I suspect that it's only checking the resistance when you first hit the button, and making it's adjustments to voltage and amps. As opposed to the Darwin which is constantly checking resistance and making adjustments throughout the firing. It's generally only noticeable towards the end of the life span of the coils, but it is noticeable. I've also noticed that it seems to be a bit lacking at higher wattage, 9 to 11. I suspect this is a limitation of the maximum voltage and amp output of the MVP. I've read that maximum voltage is 5v, but I couldn't find the maximum amps anywhere. I know on my Darwin, I would generally be at 5.5v to 5.9v to achieve 10 watts. Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to test my theories.

But overall, it's a nice device, especially for the price. The battery lasts a very long time, and the ability to charge other USB devices is nice. I suppose it really isn't fair to compare a $40 MVP 2 to a $200+ Darwin. But unless you prefer higher wattage (like me), you probably won't notice a difference. It will definitely keep me happy until I can get my Darwin repaired, or get whatever knew wonder device Evolv has coming...

If Innokin is listening out there, increase the maximum voltage to 6v in the MVP 3, and you'll have a real winner in my opinion.

Oh wow, I have the same issue with my PT and MVP, I just resorted to using my PT only on my VTR because it seems the 510 threads are too high on the MVP and block the airflow.

At least I'm not the only one... Wish I knew of an easy way to fix it, though.

I'm pretty sure there is an easy fix. Just .... ugly and it lengthens the unit. Add a 510/ego adapter and you should be good to go. Give it a try please report back.

Innokin really needs to address the ego threading on the MVP. They are just to high/long/deep. It is what causes the center pin to get driven down so often by ego threaded devices and why some evods and my T2's don't breath properly and in all likely hood what is choking off your PTII.

Here's a different setup. It's my back ups back up basically lol. It's an ego-c atomizer and cartridge. This is what got me into vaping, my ego-c mega twist compact kit. Man it just keeps getting better and better. It took an evod for me to see what I was missing out on. Now I don't even use the ego-c setup. It stays in my coat pocket for a back up. Looks kind of nice though...

Sad news fellow MVP lovers...

MVP #3, the most recent addition to my MVP family, is not feeling well and will have to be returned to 101, i assume.

The green LED stays on constantly. The unit is not actually firing, although it does still fire when you push the button.

Also am unable to turn the unit off or get any type of reading from the screen no matter what buttons are pushed.

Gonna shoot an e-mail to 101, will update with results.

Oooohhh K......just noticed the light is now off and the MVP is now functioning like normal again.

Literally have not touched it since i posted earlier, its just been sitting there...lol.

Of course i notice this immediately after i e-mail 101...

Hmm, typical huh?.

Still seems like a malfunction, nothing to stop it happening again. While it wasn't seemingly unsafe, best to see what 101 says about it.

I'm now down to one itaste vv :( (seem to have fried the electronics on one--thought I had the other day with a bad/cheap usb cable, got it working again for awhile, now won't display anything and won't finish charging), so I'm looking for votes on whether to get another itaste vv or switch to an MVP. My main question is how much heavier the MVP is. I would like the longer time between charges, but I do have hand problems and am wondering if the weight difference would cause problems when chain vaping.

I can't afford either now until January, but am looking for opinions.

There is a definite weight difference between the VV and the MVP. It depends on how serious the hand problems are. I would guess the difference to be like carrying 4 - 5 VVs at once. And the button is a little bit stiffer. If you hold it in your hand so that your first knuckle of tour thumb pushes the button it is pretty easy to press while vaping.
