Does anyone know how to dismantle the MVP2? I've had mine since March this year, but now it won't fire. It looks like the rubber insulator around the 510 connection has destroyed itself and a few bits fell out. The top of my device has 2 hex looking screws and what looks like 2 rivets near the 510 connector. Not easy to even unscrew the hex ones. If I can't repair the 510, at least I have a portable phone charger as the battery seems good, but I want to get this thing repaired first. Not sending it back for repairs as the warranty has expired. Thanks if you can help.

Sounds like a classic case of the "firing" pin connector slipped down out of reach of the topper.

Just pull it up. tweezers, small nail, toothpick... whatever. It can come up quite a bit. If you want a more permanent fix, just slide an o-ring under it so it won't slide down as far anymore.

If you dont have one, get a T6 torx driver: SE 7542ST 6-Piece Deluxe Torx Driver Kit Storage T5-T10 - Screwdrivers - Amazon.com

Using a Precision (tiny) flat-tip driver, insert it between the case and button bezel and pry the bezel and button out. Should pretty much just snap out. The bezel, button, and silicon 'spring' all come out together.

Using the T6, unscrew the 4 top screws. They are fairly tight, enough to 'pop' when you loosen them.

Gently pull the top casing and attached switch board out. They are attached by wires, so be careful.

Im right there with you. Im sure vaping could be cheaper than cigs, but between trying to find flavors I like, tearing out perfectly fine coils to try new winds, rewicking every tank to try something I would guess im spending more than I did on cigs

Whenever I'm discussing vaping with (smoking) friends the question always come up about "How much money have you saved?".

I always come back with "Well...I know how much I've not spent on analogs (my banner). And I have all the charges on my CC statements I've spent on vaping.

But vaping is SO much more pleasant!!! For someone who (for whatever the reason) really likes to inhale some "smoke"...exhale some "smoke"...and get a hit of nicotine...the taste(s) and smell are much more preferable than analogs! And I get only the nicotine (not the 2,999 other chemicals). And my breath, clothes, car and apartment smell much better. And the windows in my car and apartment now stay crystal clear. And I don't get burns in my clothes, bedspreads and furniture. And I can now go places like NO-SMOKING restaurants, NO-SMOKING airports and NO-SMOKING friend's homes. And I feel MUCH better and can walk up hills (that used to make me short of breath) with NO problem.

So...I've never actually wasted the time to deduct the costs of vaping from the money saved from analogs because it's NOT IMPORTANT! Even if I spend more $'s on vaping than analogs...I'll never go back to analogs!!!"

I’ve not used the SMOK ribbon coils yet,
but I have several SMOK EBC, RBC, Trophy and their coils all interchange
with my kanger singles (bcc), – so I’d have to say YES, if they (smok) are
claiming ribbon coils still fit all their tanks, they will all x-fit…

So that's why *my* coils look different - lefty here too.... donesmokin, when you say "wrap underhand", not sure what you mean. I start my wrap with a leg of the wire pointing down and start winding over the top of the screwdriver. Technically, couldn't I just "flip" the coil so that the leads are at the bottom, rather than wrap underhand? Maybe missing something here.....

Hard for me to believe myself so I just went through the motions . Screwdriver in right hand wrapping over the top = counter clockwise coil. The same but wrapping under the screwdriver = a clockwise coil. Flipping it over just makes the leads come off the bottom rather than the top. Holy cow this is starting to make sense!

{giggle} I have a couple coils that I've attached with the leads coming from the "top" of the coil, and at least one where they attach from the "bottom". It is easier to screw them on when they're coming from the bottom, but I don't think either configuration vapes any differently. Just a minute resistance difference, but nothing noticeable on my MVPs.

This has probably been asked a million times but thought I would ask it again lol I am currently using the iclear 30 tank that came with my MVP but I ain't happy with it it's so hit and miss I have had gurgling from it then a few days of lovely taste lovely vapour and then today it's started giving me horrible burnt flavour in my mouth!! So my question is what tank are you guys using or what would you recommend ??? I don't want to start building my own coils and wicks I really don't have the knowledge to do it or know what I am doing

Some like the i30, some don't. I use the i30 almost exclusively and it's my fav out of piles I've tried.. The only thing I can think of is it ran too low and burnt the wick. Which means your only choice is to change the coil.

I always refill it before it goes below the bottom of the tank so about 1ml left maybe a little bit less.... I have cleaned it out thoroughly as well today the wicks didn't look burnt but they do look a bit frayed if that makes any difference

Fraying shouldn't matter. But if the wick does get burnt for some reason it'll likely taste burnt pretty much forever. I usually get a week or 10 days out of a wick.

That's when I clean it out, dry burn it and pray. If that doesn't work... time to change it.

100% agree with you. And also, ashes dont get everywhere, no butts burning because you didnt get the cherry completely out, and no trying to find an ashtray! Absolutely better- I enjoy it more than smoking hands down.

It's been a slow and unpleasant recovery sorry to say. I think I'm starting to turn the corner finally. Hoping to be back to "normal" in another couple weeks.

I built my newest Russian and all seems well. I put the extra o-rings from it into the Magma then put the center section of a carto .... plug in the air hole I'm not using. Seems to have cured a lot of the Magma's leaking problem.

If your in the market for a new tank I'd say look into the Nautilus mini. My brother loves his. I bought a full size and put the vertical coil head in it which seems to be working pretty darn good too.

Herb, you have been around here for a few months now. Have you ever seen or even heard of a legitimate knockoff being posted? Ever? I have been around since before the MVP2 and VV3 were introduced and I have never seen or heard of one. They simply do not exist any where.

It is just a marketing ploy by Innokin and quite frankly, it has worked very well.

I've been around since the MVP 1 and I've never heard of a knockoff or a clone. In fact I bought my MVP 2 from fasttech. They are already made in China so there is really no use in cloning them. There is no way anyone could really make money off of a knockoff MVP so I suspect that is why it hasn't been done.

I use basically 4 tanks on my MVP2 (obviously not all at the same time, lol)...

1. Protank 2 - my no nonsense tank, I use this with higher nic eliquid which means I don't use it very often but when I do it works solid everytime for me.
2. Nautilus with the stainless steel cage type of glass tank - I use this daily when I wish to vape my more berry types of liquids, for me the thing has been rock solid so far.
3. The iclear 30 that came with my MVP2, I rarely use this but once in a while as mine has a tendency to gurgle a lot and it also ocasionally leaks down into the battery post.
4. The Aerotank Mega - Love this tank the most, mainly due to it's look, size and that it, just like the Nautilus allows me to choose how much air to get through it. However, I've had to replace the coil head on this about 4 times in 2 weeks, eventually they just seem to start leaking really bad, still unsure if it's because I rinsed them when I cleaned out the tank and put them back in wet/damp with water or just that they went bad.

Oh, ocassionally I grab the Protank 2 mini if my better half isn't using it with her Hops blood liquid and it's been rock solid like the Protank 2.

If I could only choose one tank, then I think I'd choose the Nautilus with the stainless steel cage type of glass tank as it's been the absolute most reliable for me, it's never leaked on me (although I've heard some others on youtube say that theirs leaks like a sieve) and the coils so far for me seem to last and last and last. Obviously I might be vaping it a lot less than somebody who goes through coils daily or every 4 days, I'm still on my first coil (tank came with 2) after about 2 or 3 weeks now and it feels like it gets a fair amount of use daily, although my mega gets the most use right now that I'm in the mood for marshmellows.

But to be honest, if I didn't have the stainless steel cage glass tank for my Nautilus then i'd likely not use it nearly as much as I'm sure to one day break the original glass tank that comes with the nautilus with how bulbous it is at the top and likely to smash it simply by bumping into a wall while it's in my front pocket. But it's a great (for me) tank with the stainless steel cage tank on it.

Withdrewandi, just to show you how subjective this whole deal is, the Aerotank Mega has been the biggest disappointment for me. It produces alright vapor, but it removes the flavor to the point its almost flavorless.

Coincidentally, the Protank 2 with the Aerotank 1's adjustable airflow control is my most used tank and I love it. I just recently got a Russian 91% RBA which on my second coil/wick job was the best experience vaping Ive ever had; Ive spent a good part of today (after foolishly rewicking to try a new juice) burning wicks and swearing at it. The Protank 2 is easier for me at this point- though with thin juices it can be tricky to get the right wicking balance between too tight a draw and flooding.

Ive wanted to try the Aspire as many people give it praise, but ive also heard of many coils being bad straight out of the pack. At the time I avoided it for that reason, though now since I wire my own coils I have no reason to.

Bottom line is this is all impossibly subjective. I think if you go Aspire or Kanger, your chances are pretty good at being pleased.

I personally suggest the Protank 2 with an adjustable airflow base. Fits the MVP size wise, the coil heads are replaceable, if you decide to start wiring coils you can, its fully rebuildable, and it vapes great. YMMV IMHO and all that

Been having a ton of problems getting my Russian 91% to work without burning the wick today. This is a freshly wound 30 guage 7 wraps 1.5ohm coil with a new cotton wick. Does this look right to you?



Any suggestions welcome. Im running the MVP2 at 8.5watts, giving it 15 minutes to soak, prepriming it, etc. This is like the 4th wick Ive made and have tried to use less wick so I dont starve the coil.
