For the record, I love, love love this song. It reminds me of high school and when life was so much simpler, dating my sweetie, school dances, and my 1st kiss. It's the kind of song that gets stuck in your head. I can't believe some of you aren't familiar with it.

I am mentally picturing you dancing around the house in the Lady Godiva wig singing along while doing the laundry .. ;)

On a side note, and you know I just can't help myself, this great Gallery tune of the one hit wonder variety, had it all .. if you have a good set of speakers or pipe your PC thru a sound system, you'll find that it about had it all, instrumentally .. bells, ....os, steel guitar, etc .. just a very well produced hit with a great hook and a great beat .. what's not to like .. ?? ;)

I guess B O N G O is now an auto censor ..

Since the dawn of Mankind's ability to think, speak and reason (which some would debate has not yet arrived), there are two things that have continued to be a common thread .. music and the sharing of our stories, and in many cases, those two have melded .. I feel confident in saying that even before the advent of a written langauge, folks were telling their stories and putting them to song .. it's easier to remember them that way ..

From the bards, the minstrels, the religious, the troubadours of the past through today, we put our stories out there .. why .. ?? It's a basic human need to share .. share who we are, who we want to be and who we were .. from a bad situation to the joy we get when things just seem to go right .. and everything in between ..

I can't say enough about the need to share .. although, I'll admit, sometimes in my case, I feel it can be maybe just a bit too raw .. but that's me and all the years or baggage that comes with me

So, from the Cavemen and Women that crouched around a campfire on a cold, dark night and told the story of the bear they brought down last year, to the digital campfire that we all sit around today, I just want to again say thanks for a warm and inviting place where judgement is minimal, where acceptance is maximum, where strangers are greeted with open arms and regulars get to know each other over vast distances .. where otherwise, speaking for myself anyway, our lives would not have been so enriched ..

They say you're lucky to have even a few friends in a lifetime .. yet the boundless wealth of fine folks that can and do touch our lives regularly seems almost limitless, and for that, there is a blessing from whatever higher Universal force there may be ..

Just a few ramblings as I once again take my seat around the campfire .. and hope for many more ..

Uncle, you always bring a bit of nostalgia to my mind and sometimes, (more often that I'd like to admit) a tear or more to my eye.

Lightfoot, being a fellow countryman, always strikes home in my heart. And I thank you for bringing him to the fore....

Have you ever found yourself in a dark January night, just "feeling".

This always hits home so very much....

Heck, I have January in June some days .. and I appreciate the kind words .. for those that have known me for a while, you included I think, sometimes I just let it fly based on what I'm thinking in that particular moment, or the night before when I was ruminating over something .. and with me, there is a lot of rumination some days .. you know my three friends, coulda, shoulda and woulda .. ??

Lightfoot is Canada .. and like many of us, he's nearing the end of the Journey .. but those glorious, incredibly image conjuring, songs sung with that distinctive baritone and that 12-string guitar .. what a legacy ..

I still threaten to write a book about the whole thing one of these days.

Maybe you should write that book! Might be good to get that all out. I just can't wrap my mind around what you have been through, and how you have come out of it to this side. The strength it took and probably still takes. So very glad you did!

Uncle Willie, you made me tear up, in a good way. I wish I had a way with words like you do. Please remember how much you mean to us all.

I'm just a guy that takes inspiration from the stories / issues / problems others here take the time to share .. because, I really believe sharing is caring, as cornball as that sounds ..

The threads (I think 3 now) reflect a patchwork of loss, heartache, personal stories, insights, major problems our friends have had to face head on, joy, advice, support, what we like, what we don't like, even the Reaper ..

And while I'm not prone to breaking into tears a la John Boehner, I'll freely admit to sometimes getting something in my eyes, because we're all human .. to deny emotion is to deny life ..

Whether it be tears of joy or tears of sadness ..

At any rate, I've probably over stayed my welcome for the last few days, so, it's been great, kids .. have a good Labor Day Weekend .. I'll leave it with you like this ..

For me, as a person who listened to Top 40 radio 24/7, it's just one of those songs that got spoiled by being overplayed. Rod Stewart's Maggie Mae is a great song but I can't stand to listen to it again... just heard it way too many times.

Yogi Berra once said that ya can't hit and think. But thankfully with music ya can... and reminiscence!

What a beautiful thing to say! Thank you!

In my worst hours, something inside always told me I'd be OK. I am so lucky to have that something and I try to share it.

I'm going to steal that saying from you .. I know a few good people to share it with.
You could not "over stay" ...ever
If you absolutely must, take five and don't get lost
We will be waiting :pop:

Listening to these songs is creating the magic I felt years ago.

The sounds are especially good coming from my Polk speakers that I purchased from World Start many years ago, and still sounding as good as the day I got them. A deep base is a must with me for good listening along with all the nuances coming through so distinctly.

Thanks for sharing these, BB!

Got a question for the other tech heads here. What is the max amp draw for a common flat cell phone battery? As I have posted I am prepping to build a box mod and was wondering because 2 3100mah samsung cell phone batteries in parallel woud take a heck of a lot less room and last longer than 2 18650 2100 mah batteries would.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 Android phone on a keyboard that waaayyy too small (or my thumbs are waaayyy too big).
