Don't know the specs for the phone batteries, Matt, but I'd say NO. :)

Phone batts are designed for a low and slow discharge curve. The high rush current vaping would quite probably vaporize the batteries.

You can, of course, get 18650s in high mAh ratings, but will have to live with the larger size container.

Maybe check with some of the R/C people? There might be flat packs with appropriate specs.

Got a question for the other tech heads here. What is the max amp draw for a common flat cell phone battery? As I have posted I am prepping to build a box mod and was wondering because 2 3100mah samsung cell phone batteries in parallel woud take a heck of a lot less room and last longer than 2 18650 2100 mah batteries would.

Have you looked into the lipo batts the RC folks use. The one I'm working on is designed for 2x 18650's or a lipo. This was a popular choice for the people building it w/ a lipo.

I think they were getting it from Hobby King. I opted for 18650's as I didn't want to be taking a lipo out of it's shell and then soldering wires to it.

Got a bunch of the stuff for my box mod in today. Only problem is I don't know how I'm going to fit all of this stuff into this little box?!? :)
Mike, what size box are you using? I got a Hammond 1590G box and I don't think I'm going to be able to fit two 18650s in it. Might have to order a little bigger.

Ok, big weekend is finally over. Kids back in school, can walk through the store now and find a parking spot. Hubby is gone fishing, my scorpion sting is all healed. I'm going to take a nap!

.... Ouch! .....

The ******* thing was crawling up my leg while I was sleeping. I thought it was the sheet tickling me, went to brush it off and WOW! Poor hubby jumped straight up and went for protection. Have no idea how it got in my bed. It didn't live very long......

..... Indeed! .....

Matt - the box I'm using was custom designed and 3D printed, including a battery tray for 2x 18650s. It's still going to be a snug fit as it's 'just big' enough to hold all the components to keep the overall size as small as possible.

Time to put the bed legs into coffee cans half full of kerosene. No bugs, m'lady :)

Size 18 shoe box? That way you can add extra heat sinks and triple the current.

I have a custom 3D printed cover coming and I think I may just shrink wrap the batteries, solder the connections and put a molex connector in line to aid in replacement when it's required.

Already has the 60watt upgrade and I still haven't figured out why I need 60watts. A 100 watt update to the firmware is coming too. Think I'll pass. I am planning on posting a build log over on the front porch when I get started building. Look for some component pics soon.

Tomorrow is our 50th anniversary, can you believe it?

Now really, is there anything you should do for fifty years? I love Pizza, but I wouldn't
want to eat it every day for fifty years. I smoked for fifty years and it nearly killed me.
I enjoy riding around the neighborhood on the golf cart, but I have no desire to
ride it cross country.

Ah, my high school sweetheart, what can I say.

We get along great, except she says she wants to be cremated, but she won't
give me a firm date.;)

Kind of, but much stronger! Depending on the size of the scorpion, you spend days with your finger constantly in a cup of ice water. Like burning coals inside.
Some people have breathing issues. I think it came inside to cool off, been really hot here lately.

It may not seem like much to you Floridians, but I've been having a grand week watching hummingbirds. We only get the Ruby Throated ones here, and I've never seen more than three or four at once. I'd had a feeder out for them earlier this summer, and got no interest, so I figured I'd have to wait and try again next year when I've had a chance to plant some flowers.

So Monday I was watching the other birds ad saw a hummingbird trying to check out our red seed feeder, so I mixed up a batch of nectar and put it out. I have never seen so many at once. I've managed to count 14 at once on and right by the feeder (though the little bugger refuse to hold still for either counting or photos) and I am assuming there are more since they keep coming and going. It's the first time I've ever had to refill the feeder every day because they are actually emptying it, instead of just doing it every couple of days to keep it fresh.

All I can figure is that I'm now running a refueling stop for migration. I have to mix up some liquid for myself tonight, but I'm having so much fun watching them that I'll wait until sunset to do that. I'd tried taking pictures earlier in the week, but using a phone through a dirty window doesn't work too well.

Are ya kiddin'... Being a Florida cracker, I've only seen four HBs down in my neck o' da woods. Saw a few more in Denver and Idaho. Never saw that many in one spot. They're totally fascinating!

I think Mike/Janet and maybe Willie had some nice pics in our ol' porch thread.

My fav pair here in my yard is a pair of Cardinals that have nested in our hedge for the past six/seven years.

Hopefully ya can get some clear shots for our viewing pleasure!

We see hummingbirds through-out the day - but usually just 1 at a time, sometimes a couple of 'em. But nothing like Amoret just talked about.

Now cardinals - that's different. We can have a 1/2 dozen couples hanging out on the fence and bushes going back and forth to the bird feeder. In early spring sometimes the bushes look like a Christmas tree w/ red balls hanging all over it.
