Hey there UW. Quite a unique tat you got there. Let's see, as to the meaning, I'm thinking the phrases are the secret passwords to get into the back room of the Gentleman's club.

Well, I don't know if that would work, but a Benjamin or two will generally do the "trick" .. ;)

My hummingbirds are starting to thin out again. I didn't have to refill the feeder today, and I never saw more than four or five at once. Of course four or five are still fun to watch. They will use more energy chasing each other away from the feeder than you would think they were getting from it. Of course there is always at least one that waits until the others are chasing each other around and then comes in and quietly drinks her fill.

For some unknown reason, my hummingbird population was kinda thin this season .. don't know if it was the severe winter or what .. I still keep my 4 feeders fresh and clean but they are just not coming around like in past years ..

In a way, I personally lean toward "Remember me as I was, not as I ended up" .. the last months, days, hours can, in many cases, overshadow the life led .. I also tend to lean toward "If it's a hopeless situation, leave me on an unlimited Morphine drip and I'll take matters into my own hands" ..

No one can say with any degree of certainty how any of us would handle any particular scenario until we are actually faced with it .. to quote "Words are Wind" ..

Many would say "Life itself is hope" .. others would say "Let me check out on my own terms" .. some would say "I just don't want you to see me this way" .. who is right .. ?? They are all right, because at the end of the Day (pun intended), it's personal choice and perhaps the last personal choice .. Selfish .. ?? Maybe .. or just maybe selfless ..

All I ask of the Reaper is a quick and painless check out .. I made my peace a long time ago, I have no fear of the Great Beyond .. what I do have a fear of is a lingering, technology assisted demise, or a slow drift into the loss of a lifetime of memories, and the few folks I have left being subjected to that from a guy that spent his entire life being a robust, hang on for the ride, hard drinking, hard partying, raconteur .. and at the end, I want my ashes to be placed in a large rocket of fireworks and blasted into the Stratosphere al la Hunter S Thompson .. that's what I want folks to remember .. the rocket, not the frail man in a sickbed ..

Very well said, UW!

I have no wise or comforting words to offer except to relay my own experience. When a very dear friend passed 1.5 years ago, it was very strongly advised by my family that I not see her in her last hours because of her appearance that had tripled in size.
But, she had also asked me not to come a month earlier when she knew the inevitable was near.

Even with her request, I regret not going to see her, but I knew I had to respect her wishes.

This lovely friend of mine was the one who introduced me to vaping and at one time, was a member here at ECF......so, I think of her every day.....RIP, my dear Barbara!

Oh, forgot to mention the tat. Beautiful and very well done!! Is it on your arm?

Inner forearm .. I spend enough time outside in the Spring / Summer / Fall that I usually get fairly dark skin wise .. tanning is the bane of Tattoos, so when I get one, I try to have it placed where it gets minimal sun exposure ..

And so I don't have to go back and dig it up, please post you and Mike's .. please, please, please .. ???

I just read where the US has taken over consumption of wine even over France. I suppose it is just a coincidence that I started drinking wine last year.

Well, your taking up wine and my beefed up consumption probably accounts for the overtaking and exceeding France .. of course, the French wine snobs would sneer at my frugality in stocking box wine .. I have a nice Franzia Sangria chillin' in my mini-fridge as we speak .. I plan on hittin' it this evening .. and to heck with a fancy wine glass .. I use a kitchen tumbler .. although it is glass .. gotta draw the line somewhere .. ;)

And, as an added bonus, I have learned of an even simpler method .. just bust open the box, remove bladder and :

My name is sushigirl and I'm a Wineaux! I can't believe how the wine industry has grown in Texas. We are the 5th largest grape and wine producing state in the US with over 270 wineries. The Hill Country of Texas made the top 10 wine destinations in the world in the Wine Enthusiast Magazine. And, yes, I am an avid participant in the consumption of wine. I have a wine glass that holds an entire bottle of wine...so I can tell the doc I only have one glass a day!

Uncle Willie - I'm surprised that box wine didn't take off better. It's supposed to be one of the best ways to package wine since the air doesn't get in to spoil the wine. Unfortunately, it got a bad reputation of being cheapo wine. I would share a box of wine with you anytime! :toast:

The sharing of an entire box .. which I think is like 6 regular bottles ... hmmmm, I'll need to ponder that some, although I'm always up for a new challenge adventure .. ;)

We might need to invite another thread friend or two .. one bottle usually gets me pretty buzzed ..

And, yes, I've seen those huge wine glasses .. :)

I buy the box since I have found some that I like, it's inexpensive and it does stay fresh for a long time ..

My wife love her wine and has been a box wine fan ever since they came out with some decent ones. She is a Franzia fan as well. She says it's good wine at a reasonable price.

What's the favorite wine of Jewish women?
