Willie, I gotta totally agree with Jewels - nothing you said was offensive!! Pretty funny actually. And we know you enough by now to now you'd never want to offend anyone. Love you for your observations AND your music - always look forward to your selections and your factoids.

Legs, you are an amazement. Your attitude and humor are inspiring - really. Don't get too frustrated at having to ask someone for help sometimes. I'm sure if someone needed help you'd be the first to offer it. Helping someone is an opportunity to extend some love. Embrace it.

You mentioned wondering what emotions were squelched when you are on the Prozac. Haven't taken that, but I was on Zoloft for awhile. Yep, it worked - leveled everything out. If the house collapsed around me I probably would have looked at it and said, "well, how about that". There's something weird about being on that even plane constantly. Of course my problem was that I was taking care of my mother and her 2 sisters, working full time and trying to take care of the house and 2 kids simultaneously. Anybody would be a little crazy with that going on. For me, when I'm in the pits I just ride it out by telling myself I won't always feel this bad. So far that's worked, but if the lows were really bad I would definitely consider taking something or finding someone that would help get me through it. Help is out there, you just have to reach for it - or look to someone like you!!

legs,

I've said it before and I'll say it again... you're 'nother super inspiration in our 'family'!

Damnit Mike, you're startin' to sound like my parents (RIP); except da check in time was 10 PM! BTW, dat was after I got back from da Philippines after two years in da USAF!!! Needless to say I took a very short leave...

Thankfully, I eventually made my Dad very proud and he gave me POA in his and Mom's latter years' affairs.

As a side note, my mind is still trying to 'process' da many here with depression issues. I can handle most physical affliction stories. But it is all too difficult to see & hear of da individual 'internal' conflicts without being to assist! Just wish I knew sum 'magic words'.

Da best I can do on dis side of da keyboard is major boa constrictor HUGS!

Well we know life ain't a bed of roses for you either - but you just keep us smiling and laughing w/ that "Iffy humor" so keep it coming.

I halved my Effexor a few months ago. I was having problems with ruminating over every bad thing I have done in my life, but understanding the dynamics of why I had done those things and no condemnation associated with it. I was talking with my confessor about it (a Catholic thing) I wanted to know what was going on-- he told me that was a good thing, and my antidepressant had been shutting down that part of my brain. Suggested counseling, and one session was sufficient to resolve a lot of stuff (I already knew the counselor).

Mary, may I say that your statement is profound and encouraging? And a grand step toward 'freedom'!

I usually reveal the "silver lining" of chemo, not having had to shave my legs all summer, not to mention how quick and easy it is to get ready for the day. I don't really mind the physical changes. I have lots of beautiful scarves and made some cute hats. It's kind of fun to experiment with different looks.
Jewels, I really admire your attitude, I don't know if I could match it.
Thank you for taking the time to keep us up to date ... big hugs
I hope your plans for the show are going smoothly, and that you make a fortune :p

You know the song I really like is It was a very good year. Sinatra hit it on the head.
Me too Legs.
I also love love love "My Way" ... it touches my soul
So many artists have sung it, even Elvis, but it just hits home, no matter who does it.
I also love "Like a Rock" ... now that I'm older, I really associate with the message of the song
I have CD's with those songs on them, and when they play, I crank the volume up to the point that I feel the vibration from the speakers,... it heightens the emotion I feel..

Not upset at all by the way. Bells it was a good call. Don't want to p... off the powers that be.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 Android phone on a keyboard that waaayyy too small (or my thumbs are waaayyy too big).
Thanks, Matt, but that was the last time that I will ever mention the subject. I don't make, don't interpret and don't enforce the rules and have no personal knowledge of the mindsets of those who do. I feel that there is more resentment than understanding if I mention those rules. I'm going to be selfish enough to adopt the attitude that It's not my job and I'm not going to try to do it.

Hey Bells, I'm glad you said something about the thread topics. I was getting ready to say something myself. Actually it's good that we have 2 threads. Long ago we only had one and the moderators felt that all our chatting about things totally unrelated to vaping would better fit into the chat/lounge area. Overnight, and without warning, our thread disappeared to the lounge. That took the older voice out of the general discussion. What a shock and it really angered a lot of people. We don't want that to happen again so we all have to be mindful. At least this way we know where we can find vape info and get to know each other and then go to the lounge where we don't have to worry about the subject matter. It's so easy to go off on wonderful tangents. New people especially are not aware of how the threads work and I know I'm guilty of joining in the fun on the wrong thread. We are lucky to be able to participate in this site, run by others, so we have to abide by the rules they have set up. And I gotta say, after visiting some other sites I do appreciate the civilized discussions here and it wouldn't be that way without the mods. So, thank you for getting us back on track.

The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married for the fourth time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband's occupation.

"He's a funeral director," she answered.

"Interesting," the newsman replied.

He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she had first married a banker when she was in her 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, and a preacher when in her 60's, and now - in her 80's - a funeral director.

The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.

<wait for it>

She smiled and sweetly explained, "I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go."

Great joke and I did not see the end coming. I guess that's why you "get ready"....

My grandbabies just left for their first day of school. The one day that all children are eager to go to school.

Bright and shiny new clothes, shoes, school supplies, and backpacks. They even eagerly brushed their hair and teeth without having to be harassed.

I hope they're still happy about it by the end of the day.
