I thought that maybe there would be one or two of us on here today - thought I would keep them company a bit - Wow the response has been great - we are a lot closer to each other than maybe we all really know... ;)

Jup! I've made a couple lifelong friends online. We have friends for a season and some that will be part of our lives forever. I truly cherish all of you. Some I know better than others, but all of you have helped me in so many things and I can't tell you how I missed you when I wasn't able to get online much or at all. Bigggggggg Hugssssssssssssss

Semi, wow that's great! I can't say the same, but we eat out a lot, so that kills any chances of weight loss.

Well da kids and G-kids (no longer babies) left a lil' while ago. Great breakfast, ton o' fun and a wonderful gathering!

When da G-kids walked in, their jaws dropped... nuttin' under da tree!!! But Patty and I were swamped with hugs and kisses after they checked their stockings... a hundred dollar bill in each. I've never seen 'em so excited.

This was da first time we gave just money... and we're gonna do it again next year fer sure!

Oh man Bwhare, I don't envy you that drive at all. You aren't driving by yourself are you? Jup vaping stuff is always hard to pack if you don't do it very often. Hope you can check in and let us know you made it ok.

Oddly enuf, I always drive alone. It's a thousand miles so I stop once. I need to refuel and do the necessary potty break. I don't drink anything (suck on cough drops) and refuse to relinquish control of my "bodily functions" so I just drive. I'm a maniac behind the wheel. I don't allow people to get in my way for more than a straight road allows. All that clips my wings is the plates on my car. I have to be nice to the national constabulary - don't want them getting their fluff in a huff. It's all fun when I realize that there are a couple of folk following me and trusting me to drive "right". I'd drive behind someone else but normally, they don't move as fast as I want.... During the summer, I've had people peel off from behind me and stick their arms out the window and way goodbye. Always makes me feel good....

The weird part of packing is that I can do most of it while I'm still online. Only the vape stuff takes time. I have to spend a couple of days to figure out what I'll likely need. Then I have to put things aside and together and make sure I'm not forgetting anything.

I used to dread the drive but now it's become nothing. It takes a day but the more I do it, the more I recognize the landmarks. What's kewl is seeing the change in the birds. Once it gets cold, the vultures go south and are replaced with hawks and I do love to watch hawks. No one seems to realize that hawks hang around the roadways because cars make the rodent population scurry and they wait for their opportunity for lunch... (been driving for a long time).

I'm typing because I'm procrastinating. I have a ton of things to do to get ready for the road tomorrow and none of them are the least bit fun. I really am a master at procrastination....

Well.... I guess I 'd better get my .... in gear and set things up for the pre-dawn beginning of my trek. Did you know that you can begin a run at night and finish it at night as well? There was a time when I lived up (way) north and I'd go to school at night and come home at night. Of course, I also took pictures of the sunset and the sunrise was a half an hour away...... See? I can babble with the best of them.....

I babble too much when I actually start - I should try to avoid starting. Sorry....

I hope that all of your celebrations have been wonderful. And I hope that you've dealt with your year without regrets. Merry Christmas porch-bound folk and know that someone is always watching and caring about everything that happens in your lives.... (without judgement)

Believe it or not I count you guys as my best group of friends, you guys are the only ones who understand where I'm coming from on a lot of things.

I did get me a shiney for Christmas, my loving wife got me a big fogger, I look forward to playing with it when the festivities are over.

Well, I'm late checking, too! Just Mom & I today. We both slept really late because we were worn out from family Christmas at my sister's last night. We have a great family, & always have so much fun. Had our Christmas, had breakfast, no lunch, because such a late breakfast, so dinner is in the oven & our day will be done! I'm trying to help my nephew trouble shoot a Provari v2.5 a friend of his gave him. That's over on the Front Porch. I'll check back in later!

Well, I certainly had my Christmas put in perspective for me with a phone call from a lady that I know in another state. I was driving home from work Christmas Eve when I received the call. I'm sharing this for myself as well as for anyone else who, like me, thought they were struggling. This lady is a double amputee, with no family but a husband in prison. She lives in a small 3 room apartment and just had all her clothes stolen from her by a woman who was supposed to be helping her by cleaning and washing her clothes. She lives on $799 a month. Bless her heart, she wasn't whining when she called me. She just related her story. I felt like a selfish brat after I thought about my little piddly complaints quite a few posts ago just before Christmas. The Creator DOES have a way of setting us straight sometimes, doesn't He?

At any rate, it was a peaceful day for me. I got up when I felt like it and sipped on Hazelnut coffee. Then me and the Breeze dog headed over to my brother's house and had a lovely dinner of ham, beef roast, rice dressing, and cornbread dressing with a HUGE side helping of swapping tall tales. I'd badly love to nap right now, but I KNOW if I do that now, I will not sleep tonight. Oh well....maybe I'll do some music cruising.

Merry Christmas!

My daughter's been here off and on, but basically going elsewhere with friends to join in their festivities. I've decided to spend my extended period of peace and quiet cleaning out and re-organizing all my stuff.

I've pulled everything out of the cabinets and closet and am slowly putting it in boxes, labeling the boxes, and deciding how to fit it all back in. (Throwing away bits and pieces along the way.)

I've been here reading a little today, but trying to resist as best I can. I need to get this stuff put away before kids are back!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Xmas!

Finally, peace and quiet! Got the kids back home, kitchen all cleaned up, wrapping paper & boxes all tossed out. We had a great time, ate too much and opened presents. But oh my, my recliner feels so good! Have fresh coffee, my vapes and my laptop. Nobody better mess with me now! Hope you all had a wonderful day, Merry Christmas! :toast:

*I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends and
colleagues, but it is difficult in today's world to know exactly what to
say without offending someone. *

*So I talked with _my lawyer yesterday_, and on advice I wish to say the
following: **

**Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes
for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non
addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday
practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or
secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious /
secular persuasions and / or traditions of others, or their choice not
to practice religious or secular traditions at all . **

**I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and
medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally
accepted calendar year 2012, but not without due respect for the
calendar of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have
helped make our country great ( not to imply that our country****is
necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the
race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual
preference of the wishee . **

**By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms :****

**This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely
transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no
promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for
others, is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole
discretion of the wisher. The wish is warranted to perform as expected
within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or
until the issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher . **

**Best Regards (without prejudice),**

I got up this morning, got on the 'puter briefly, went to Mass (the homily was too long-- he wanted to make it extra good ). Went over to the VA to sit with a hospice patient, and just got back home. He isn't doing very well-- I was told to call in the morning before heading back to town to sit with him again in the morning.

A good way to spend Christmas when no family around could have sent me into depressive thinking. C'ya'all. Happy holidays, and enjoy everything you have! Even life itself.

This is the neatest thing to hear of people being able to do things with and for others rather than sitting at home feeling blue. I love it and it's such an inspiration. My son and his wife came over for about 30 minutes and they gave me a box of goodies. He didn't know what to get, so he got me things he knew I loved, summer sausage, gouda and muenster cheese, chocolate covered pretzels, trail mix with tropical fruit. So I got lots of num nums that i can share with sil and nephew. My nephew loved the summer sausage. just hilshilre beef summer sausage, but he'd never had it before.

Bwhare I am the same way about driving by myself. I've made a couple more than 1000 mile trips by myself, and done it in one day. I never intended to drive straight through, but by the time I was ready to stop, I was wide awake. By the time I was tired, I was too close to waste money on a motel. lol

So nice to hear so many wonderful Christmas stories. Willie hasn't checked in yet. I hope he's not feeling blue, and I hope we didn't terrorize him too badly yesterday! lol

There is nothing sadder in this world than to awake Christmas
morning and not be a child.

Oh, I dunno, my son said he's having the time of his life now that he can be the Santa to his step daughter. But I reckin that's kind of the same thing......playin Santa for our kids, brings out the kid in us.

I had a cheap, Liberty Flights, version that I used constantly for about 6 months. Loved it! Finally quit working after being dropped an untold number of times. Then immediately started having issues with the Zmax, which is why I ordered the Vamo. I'm so disappointed. Don't know what's with the Zmax, all my tanks/juice burns my throat like it's up high. It's not and it's not reading as though it is. Not a clue.

Patches - the ZMAX has 2 'power' settings - AVG or MEAN (forget how its marked in the menu) and RMS. If it's set to AVG/MEAN it will vape hotter than what you have the display set for. Just wondering if that may be the issue.

Y'know, when it comes to packing, I can do my camera gear in an instant, my computer pair that have to go with me is easy enough, clothing, even when I have to pack formal wear that I didn't realize I had, is fairly simple.

Vaping gear is far harder. The last time I went into the north country, was far harder. In the fall, I'd planned on being there for almost a month. Two months later, I was struggling to find a place in Canada that would actually send me anything with nic involved. I lucked out, but this time, I'm trying to pack for an indeterminate period of time. It'll all come together and work out.

Thank you all for your good wishes and sympathy. Today is packing day and it's time to get serious. My car is ready (full set of snow tires), most of me is ready and the only thing I have left to do is make sure my vaping supplies will suffice.

Oh, and just in case you thought I wasn't serious:

I may not post much, but I have read every single post in the thread (starting from the original) so I know everyone even if you don't know me.......

For the record, I still can't taste a thing beyond "good" or "bad".

Safe travels my friend. Check in when/if you can. We'll keep the lights on 'till you get back.
