Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Blast From The Past Circa 1977 .. Peter McCann .. who is a great American songwriter, also responsible for "Right Time of the Night" and many others ..

(while it won't fix your home plumbing, given the right circumstances, it might help activate dormant plumbing .. ;) )

PS .. I'll bet many have forgotten this Gem ..

I'm off to the store in a few minutes...be back later to regale you with.....
oh fun! Ya gotta come back and tell us what kinda goodies ya got.

that's absurd on all counts. That mother is likely a good part of the reason the daughter is being a bully. But it's also sad to me that the dad would say he could never have a relationship with his 12 yr old daughter again. Hope they can get past this.

Happy Groundhog's Day!! Puxatawny Phil predicted an early Spring! I'm ready for it!!!

So...the cable techs were here AGAIN yesterday because of the usual issues, tv and so on, which has been going on for three months with many techs, two "new" cable modems, a couple " new" remotes, so on and so forth.
I guess threatening to dump them in favor of satellite finally worked. Their app. was between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., they ( a tech AND a supervisor) were here at 8:15.

To make a long story short, they replaced the underground line, ran two separate cable lines into my home, replaced the modem and the remote, set up all the components, including the printer and the router, and then checked all of them, including the phone.

The one tech left but the supervisor stayed, and believe this or not.... moved my heavy couch and all the other furniture exactly where I wanted it placed! Even went so far as to help me place the individual slate tiles in both the coffee table and lamp table, after he moved them where I wanted them.

Guess they wanna keep me as a customer after all:D

Not to mention the judge who allowed it...

Me, I'd have said "Oh, too rich to know right from wrong? Maybe you'll learn in jail!"

According to that judge, then it would follow that poor kids are too poor to know right from wrong...

Today, on Groundhog Day, we present the next installment of Adventures In Home Plumbing. With any luck, this episode is the season finale.

We last saw Intrepid DIYer Dave as he headed off to Lowes and/or Ace Hardware a number of hours back. I decided to go to Ace Hardware first. It's not there no more... prolly been gone for 15 years... I never notice something is missing until I'm looking for it, eh?

The pipe that enters my house is not PEX, as it turns out. It's something called Quest, that nobody sells any more. At Lowe's they had me scared half to death that I'd have to replace the entirety of the plumbing pipes in my house. Then they told me how much the crimping tool cost for the type of crimp ring that was on the section that I showed them.

But they was only joshin' me, gettin' their jollies I think. Turns out that push-to-connect fittings will work with Quest. Those fittings are so easy to work with they oughtta be illegal. I bought a ball valve, fittings, a piece of PEX pipe, some connectors for the existing PVC pipe, and a plastic pipe cutter. Total time of repair (after my lunch, nap, and computer time once I got back from Lowes) was 1 hr 15 minutes, and that included watching some videos on YouTube on how to use the P2C fittings. Those fittings really give a bad name to "difficult plumbing job".

Da-dah! I gots me watah! Now I have flush terlets and everything!
