Shwew ... stay away from the porch for 1 day and it takes awhile to catch up. Yesterday was a Miles day. He starting to do a bit of 'free walking'. I don't think it knows yet, that he's doing it, but it's a joy to watch.

The highlight of my day was sitting on the floor w/ him between my legs leaning back against my chest. He sat quietly and help me turn the pages while I read Dr Seusse's Big A, Little a book to him. We made it from A to Z twice before he lost interest.

@LittleBird - can I hire you as my ghost writer when needed. You have such a marvelous way with your words. I read each of your posts multiple times ... so well put. Oh ... and that includes the one you put on the front porch too.

(((((@3mg Meniere)))) I have a bit of understanding about being so far away when a child is hurting. You want to be there, you want to fix it ... that's what parents do. When our daughter was in her darkest days, she was San Diego and we're in PA. It was tough being so far away and not being there for her.

3mg, my grandson is an Aspie. Haven't seen him in about 6 years amd no hope for the future. My son and his mother divorced when he was about 3 and she is a psycho. I really hirts to hear the way the grandson talks to his father. One minute he wantts to talk, the next he hates his father and never wants to hear from him again. My son just keeps paying his child support and trying, but it is very difficult.
((((((((Cathy)))))))) I'm so sorry hun!

Please note that this doesn't automatically mean everyone here is 'mature' however.:D

Hi, someone spotted my first post and directed me here to introduce myself. I'm Ellen, sorry for disrupting the conversation, but am delighted that there are some other ah..mature people vaping. I live on an island in Australia and don't know anyone else that uses a vaporiser, so I'm just happy to be here.

I've always felt like a pretend grown up myself. I keep having to reload in to reply? Anyway, I had to research myself on vaping, hadn't met anyone that does. But was told that e cigs were really like smoking by a young friend. Decided I better get something that had lots of throat feeling and lots of nicotine, so guessed and bought a vaporfi edge. And 24 mg menthol nicotine. Then was told that I shouldn't go over.6 nic on a sub ohm, so had to buy a lot of 0% and dilute it. But it works, so I'm happy with it. I can see lots of technical stuff on here I don't have a clue about. Also have to import everything, very expensive. Laws here prohibit the sale of nicotine liquid.

I hate this! Why do parents do that to their children? Kids are not pawns and should never become collateral damage. There's a name for folks who use their children, and it isn't pretty. I hope that one day your grandson will be old enough and have experienced enough of life to form his own opinions. ((((Cathy))))

Truer words, darlin' :)
I resemble dat remark.
Yes, yes you do! For which I'm ever grateful!

Welcome to the back porch Ellen. Glad you could join us. Plenty of comfy chairs available so pull one up and tell a little more about yourself. We have one resident Aussy here now already. Great to have two! :)

I have to finish getting the tax stuff together. Hopefully, I'll be done in a few hours. Laterz, babies! Muah!

ugh! I'm so hoping someday they'll simplify the tax codes to make filing taxes easier. Finished ours a couple-few days ago ... now I can forget it for another year.

Does everyone have to log in every time they want to post. Makes navigation a bit tricky. Or am I missing something? I'm not particularly computer savvy. And I'm getting here by going back to my email and hitting view this thread. I know there must be a more direct approach.
Live a block from the beach, and love the island. Just moved to this house in February. All three children finally grown and living independtly. I'm a visual artist, mostly oil paints. I procrastinate a lot. And porch sitting is one of my favourite pastimes.

not evening anymore, but good morning to you and all the other porchers..life is normal, except that my first Great Grandson arrived Saturday evening..not sure about his name though, Oliver Castle, came in at 8lbs-12ounces and 21 1/2".

CONGRATULATIONS! Welcoming a new baby is such a joy no matter what the name is!

Has anyone noticed that the price of gasoline keeps going up when the price of oil is at its lowest like $40 a barrel. It has gone up 50cents a gallon here in about a month and a half. It is now at $2.10 It was at $1.60

The rationalization for increasing taxes on gas here in PA was that the prices were so low they could afford to raise them.

Right now he is in a jail that has a psych hospital. YEAY! Here they did nothing but allow him to get socialized to the criminal subculture. Once they get him stabilized and go through the legal process, he will go to a regular psych facility. I once told a police officer in town that my son needs a specialized treatment program for the combination of problems. So finally the judge and a psychologist recommended that I send him to his father. I did not know at the time why but followed through.
But my daughter put some money on his account so he will have enough to send me letters. Although his handwriting is real bad, I can puzzle through it. Maybe they will give him access to a word processor.
Last night I was in such a mood that I laid down to take a nap, hoping I would be better when I woke up. I slept all night on my loveseat. My back hurts.
I just joined a facebook support group for parents of Aspies.

So very sorry to hear about your son. It's awful when you can't fix it. Support groups can be an immense help so it's a good thing to seek one out and see if you can find some answers or at least some peace for yourself.

I will never forgive that biatch of a speech therapist for dropping him when we moved when he was in second grade.

I know there are laws that restrict services depending on the district where the person resides. Could that have been the problem? In our school district it seemed that there was a large % of kids who were receiving some kind of specialized help. Even from birth there is Early Intervention. One of them even came to our house when we watched Miles to observe how he eats and what his physical progress was. (Miles is perfectly fine, but EI has been following him for months.) Nothing that woman said was any different than what we were already doing. They're great for children who really do have problems, but this seems to be more about assuring parents. How many others have this "service". Even my DIL is now saying it's a waste.

Welcome to the porch!! You've come to the right place. We all were beginners at one time. There's a lot to learn about vaping and what's right for you so it helps to have someplace to ask questions. Somebody here will have answers to just about any questions you might have and even some you don't!

we have so much that could be offered for kids......and so many haven't gotten it. Burns me up. The saying is they slip through the cracks, I say they get shoved through the craters

These days it seems the money being poured into education goes toward new and used specialists and use them frequently.

You mean you can only buy juice that's already mixed? You can't DIY?

I think when you sign in you can check the box to stay logged in? Shouldn't have to re-do it each time you reply.

Kudos to you for figuring out enough about vaping to get yourself started. There's so much to choose from and so much to know that it can be overwhelming. And not everybody finds what is best for them until they've experimented a bit.

I do find vaping to be close to smoking and believe that it's why it's so successful. I put my cigarette out to try our first e-cig when it arrived in the mail and haven't picked up a cigarette since, what a shock! For most people it's not that easy and continue to smoke some cigarettes while they're switching over. We always say to count the ones you don't smoke and CELEBRATE IT!

Unfortunately, that was not the problem. Special education services were available to others in the parochial school. There was an anti-Catholic attitude within the special education office. All of the Spanish interpreters were Protestant! Veery suspicious.
