The passing of Prince hit me really hard. He was truly one of my favorites, and it was a total shock to me. The media has really ticked me off now with the way they are talking. The man is gone. Let him rest in peace. Sheesh!!
It would be nice if they could just remember him for his accomplishments and stop looking for dirt.....but of course with the media today.....they can't even get the info right....:(

I need a little help from you guys that know about such things.....is an LED the same size as an old light bulb ? and can I put one into a fixture that used the old ones.....do they require a special fixture?
Absolutely. However the wattage ratings are different. Look for the"equivalent to" label for help. Basically a 9 watt LED is close to a 40 watt incandescent, 12 watt LED equals 60 watt LED. Best deal so far as far I am concerned is the 3 pack of GE bulbs from Home Depot, something like $8. :)

For a number of reasons, none of which I'm going to bore anyone with, the passing of Prince stayed with me for some time .. both as a sadness that we had lost another true artist who lived life his own way and a slight bit of anger over how some media outlets got his history wrong .. it's all neither here nor there at this point .. for those that care to spend eight minutes and change, take a listen ..

Noticed that he didn't have a will and his sister went court to get a custodian appointed. Thought the worst at first but then they said she wanted someone outside the family appointed. Then wondered why he didn't have a will. Thought about it a few and realized that he didn't have any real heirs so probably wasn't worried about it much, after all he was only 57 and just beginning to realize that the light at the end of the tunnel is the headlight of an oncoming train. Great musician and artist. He will be missed.

I was concerned yes, worried not so much. I knew with your background and the location if you couldn't at least find a couch to crash on something was truly wrong and it wasn't the Uncle I've come to know and love! ;)

Good morning to you. As with everything else in America, there's a pill for that. I don't like having to take ropinirole, but it works. Beats not getting a decent night's (or day's when I worked night shift) sleep for nearly twenty years. I've been on it for four years now and feel like a new person.

First, Whale Oil lit my space, then they try and pry my cold dead fingers from the trusty Incandescent Bulbs that have served me so well for so many years .. finally, in an act that smacks of pure Evil, I hear they are going to Outlaw those trusty, toasty bulbs, so I reluctantly begin to move toward CFL .. and it's tough, worse than breaking up with a wife, I tell you ..

Now, this new fangled LED thing comes along and my Feng Shui has been totally and completely disrupted .. it's just another conspiracy .. no different than the Incredible Shrinking Toilet Paper Roll ..

There's some serious info on the web and in the people's pharmacy column in the newspaper that says a bar of ivory soap placed under the sheet at the foot of the bed helps. How in the hell that works I don't know but, "they" say it does. ;):w00t:

Yesterday I made a weighted blanket for our quilt club to donate to the school district for autistic kids. Just as an experiment, I slept under it last night. I had the best night's sleep, no three O' wakeup remembering bad things. Might just keep it!

Just discovered that it is used for that, too. Medical Blankets | Autism Aid | WeightedBlanketsPlus.com

You know how some drugs work the opposite on some people? That's what a weighted blanket would do to me. I have an awful time sleeping when the blankets are heavy. Feels like I'm trapped or something. I can see where some people might find it comforting. How good of you to go to the trouble of sewing them!

That inspires another question. The LEDs I've seen look like they are directional, kind of like a floodlight. Do they actually provide an area lighting like an incandescent or CFL?

I've got one in my laundry room and it's the first time in 28 years I can actually see the color of the socks! I love it! Not directional at all. It lights up the whole room!

I was concerned about the height of the bulbs because the shabby (cheap) light fixture has a very limited space for the bulb to fit in. Too tall and it won't work.....:(

Take your old bulb with you. The ones I have are normal looking bulbs, but they come in all kinds of sizes.
________

Roto, so sorry you're having a tough time with the goofy changes. Don't they know you're doing it your way because you already know what works! You might have to give it a fair shot though and show them you were right in the first place. Arrrrgh!

Any time I can resolve a problem without the use of drugs is ten thousand times better. You have no idea how long I fought arthur before starting to take meloxicam.

I was not worried, i know you can take care of business

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

Interesting technique. Might work, if you want to experiment with that. Get back to me on that. Might work for making larger ones for PTSD vets.

I considered making a cover for it, but it would slide around inside the cover, unless one would put snaps on the corners inside.

Just talked with our revered leader, and we will assess need.

My serger has been in storage for the last few years, and I hope it will still be operational when I get it out.
I've been using a heavy throw on my feet & legs at night. It does seem to help. My sister made the throw for me several years ago after a surgery. She got 2 yards each of 2 colors of blanket fleece, a print & black, from Joann's. She laid them together right sides out, & made 4" cuts an inch apart through both layers all the way around, then holding a 2 layer strip together she just wrapped them around her finger & made a knot. It's pretty weighty & very warm. I just wish it was about a foot longer!

Peek a Boo .. ;)

Yes, I survived my semi-debacle of an attempted Odyssey, and thanks for asking .. ;) ..

A woman goes into a Sex Store to try and find something to spice up her Love Life with her Husband
The proprietor offers her a book, "Couples Sex Guide: Female Edition" for $10.00 .. and "Couples Sex Guide: Male Edition" for $5.00 ..

"What's the difference .. ??" the woman asks, looking puzzled .. he replies :: "They are identical, except the Male Edition suddenly finishes up just when it's getting good." ..

Were you able to get the truck repaired ok?
