THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "JUST A PET"!!!
I wasn't raised around animals. I was taught to think of them as less. That humans were more special, better.

But, I've gotten to know a few animals since then. And, I was shocked. They're not less than us. In many ways, they're more. Well, they're like humans, less the conceit, less the constant thought of self.

It's the animal part of our nature that has the things we value most. Love, loyalty, honor, etc. The human mind just THINKS it knows stuff.

Willie, that was fantastic. Very touching and extremely well done. It stirred a lot of very fond memories and I thank you for such a touching tribute. I dub you the official Scribe of the Older Folks and vaping Porches!

Lannie: Oh, I hope what I said didn't sound like I ONLY wanted to know those people! I like everybody here! But I was gettin' all teary-eyed reading those tributes and I didn't even know them. Makes me wish I had...

I think we know what you meant, it's ok. And so sorry to hear that you lost your beloved cow. Doesn't matter what kind of critter it is, if you love each other it always breaks your heart to loose them. It's nice to know that you have her daughter to love.

Glad to see you made it to our porch! Welcome! Nice to have another couple here. My hubby MikeE and I have been the only couple here!

Never thought I would see that name, or variant for a dog again. My father's boyhood dog was named Zip.
Zipper wasn't named because she is fast. Well, she's a Doberman so she can be fast, but this particular Dobie has ruffled hair from between her ears down the back of her neck and it looks like you could unzip her and pull out her brain, which I often think someone did and forgot to put it back. Lannie often calls her Zip and I often call her Zipperhead. Both of us often call her four-letter words, but that doesn't mean we don't love her.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "JUST A PET"!!! And yes, I am shouting that!!! They become part of the family, no matter how many legs, what material covers their body, what their "job" is, how they eat or where they sleep. So I know many of us understand and can relate to your hurt. But Chicklet sounds like a real love! It is amazing how what some people think of as a "dumb" animal can really show intelligence, love and affection. You just have to listen to them. So don't feel so weird, cuz ya ain't!

Right on!! Well said!

@Robert Cromwell Hey those heat sinks you gave me the link to work good with the VTCmini and the Kanger STM. I've got some of the little cheapies coming but was thinking of ordering 3 of the ones you showed me and just put them on and not have to worry about it they would just stay on the minis as the 510 looks a little cheap too. Exactly like the R200 although doesn't seem to have any problems.

The one I have looks good under an STM or my Velocity mini.
Solid as a rock.

It takes a special person to realize that especially since you were raised to think otherwise. Good for you! What a blessing it is to open yourself to be loved by an animal.

I have always been an animal lover. Was accepted into pre vet school in high school but got sick and didn't get there. Anyway, the older I get the more I love my animals. Unconditional love. Funny thing is I find that on the porches too. This place restores my faith in the human race. But I can hug my pups, wish I could hug you all!

What porch am I on? I guess I feel mushy from the new Back porch... Hard to tell on my phone.

Tried those fast tech rebuildable sections for the subtank mini. They work just fine. They MIGHT be a tad flimsy compared to the real one but it is so close it is hard to tell.

Put in another fasttech order today and got 10 more + Authentic Kanger glass replacements for the substank mini + the 50 pack of orings for the subtank mini. My vaping life at this point is simplifying to just a few types of gear that I have lots of spare parts for. My REOs + RDAs for them. My Subtank minis + whatever I put them on Provari, subbox or mech. The FDA of doom is looming ever closer and I am starting to get nervous.

Well you know what I got to thinking I have some things I got way back when I was using Aspire BCT's. They were air flow adapters but I think they will work perfect. They are like the heat sinks but no fins and they adjust to fit flush. I forgot all about them but I have 4 of them. Will get them cleaned up and give them a try on Monday.

It's so 2015, but "what colors is the dress?" was an interesting phenomenon. I'm part of the half that sees the dress as indubitably white and gold. I have not been able yet to see it as black and blue. Very good explanation here:

Just stopping by to announce that I am still alive, if not kicking. After my summer in the nursing home it has taken me some time to get interested in much of anything again. As an extreme introvert it was an extra bad place for me, and I really needed to be alone for a while, physically and electronically. Still not feeling very sociable, but I'm working on it.
