that was just plain WIERD!

Outdoor dog show, today we sat in the tent (thankfully we rented one since I did the show by myself last week with all the rain!) and the rain pounded and the wind howled - for about 20 minute spurts. Cleared up around noon, then the wind started. i am showing Geordi tomorrow - supposed to be highs in the high 40s and winds with 35mph gusts. The tents flap and the wind howls. I have been walking him around, but he is going through the 9 month "fear of situations" fear period (also known as hormones kicking in) so my solid, confident puppy is kind of a basket case. When he spooks we stop and practice a few tricks for treats, play a little game of tug (as much as he will) and work on attention (attention to me). Object is to distract him and do confidence building things, not fuss over him and teach him that he can do this. He will come out of it shortly, but tomorrow will be interesting. Will he let the judge examine him? Probably not, but I am planning on making our ring time a big game. People have gone from "he is soooo cute!!" to "Wow, he is stunning!", so I have hope! We will get through this!

Wish us luck! i will post results. Major broke (one of the entered girls is not showing), but a point or two would be nice! His sister has been showing - got both her "majors" and is now up to 11 points (need 15 total for championship, which includes 2 majors - wins over enough other dogs of the same sex or both to be worth 3 -5 points. In this area of the country, need 4 girls or 4 boys for a 3 point win). If the major hadn't been broken, she would probably have finished this one 10 day circuit!

those in the snow - stay warm and safe!!
I hope things get quiet for Geordi tomorrow so he can really shine!

hmmm? on my screen that was black text on white background.

Not going good around here ... I've still got the sickness and now Janet went to bed before supper w/ 102F fever. And there's a blizzard out side the house. We may not get out of the house 'till mid week.
Oh no! I was really hoping it would skip Janet! Any chicken soup left? And you can't get out to go get an rx for her. Ugh!

Scott...I finally ordered a laptop...:D

and went to the hardware store to get a bracket for the laptop tray table.
yay!!! Can't wait til you get it!

Hey @Debadoo . Cheddars at 4:30? Or, next week some time? It's totally up to YOU dear.
So sorry I wasn't able to do it this week. Pm'd ya. Really trying to flip my schedule around. Hopefully next week!

BR came on the radio. Bob and I sang along, knew every word. James says "how do you know that song so well? (think Bill and Ted when it was revised)". We said" it's older than you!
Used to do that a lot with my son. Always freaked him out. Kids think everything is new.

The first half of the decade my mother would reverse the numbers so instead of 72 she would claim 27. Then she hit 90 and quit trying.
My sort of "adopted" daddy always did the same thing.......told him I couldn't wait til he was 79!!!

Again sorry for putting anyone feeling sorry for me, I'm not looking for that just got really depressed about the whole thing. I'm going to try to get more info.
You have nothing to apologize for hun!! You vent anytime you need to! that's what families are for.

fixed up a pot of chilli and my mom's secret recipe cornbread.
You and scott and everyone are makin me want chili, but already had son pick up a pork .... for me, so that will go in the crock pot tonite and cook all night long. Now to the cornbread........jiffy mix, or a real secret recipe???

Instant coffee is like a kiss through the screen door. The idea is nice, but something is missing and it taste like dust.
rofl!! Love this!

I got my submarine tanks from Mom & Pop Vapor shop today. They do indeed work well with divers
Really glad you're liking them!!

All of this is speculation at the moment, BUT, I can see it happening. NOT a happy camper right now. Going back to vegitate.
oh sweetie......I sure hope it ends up very well for you!! was thinkin about you the other day when I heard that now Iran will be exporting oil.

Younger is better. Newer education and more up to date in available treatment. Most people go into medicine because they want to help folks. They don't get jaded until later. :)
Sometimes......but sometimes those younger ones haven't learned to think for themselves yet, and just spout out JAMA or other rubbish
I wish it would snow HERE. For once.
Bite your tongue missy ma'am!!!! Unless it can snow on you and be 70 where I am! hehehe

... And I will pet him, and hug him, and talk to him, and take him for walks, and..

I've still got the sickness and now Janet went to bed before supper w/ 102F fever.
ohhhhh noooooooo that must be an error.......remind her she was NOT going to get this!! Hope someone can help take care of y'all a bit, and hope you're both over this very soon!!

i bought fresh veggies for the first time in about 6 years. i'm slowly trying to wean myself off tv dinners. i stopped cooking real food when my hand went numb, but after 6 years, i'm accustomed enough to it to try cooking again.
oh that's wonderful! Hope you can do it ok.

Cathy, much good luck to you and Geordi.......and that's wonderful about the sister having 11 points already!!

tonight will be a cauliflower or broccoli night. not sure yet. preceded by a caesar salad, which, of course, is the ONLY salad :)

Scott's chili pic has had me looking steely-eyed at my neglected crockpot. i may be putting it back into use. googling recipes. i used to crock a mean navy bean soup.

You mean you didn't pick up any asparagus ?....................

Howdy Folks,

Woke up, couldn't go back to sleep, so here I am... rambling.

In the '80s, a good friend made a cassette for me of Don Dorsey's "Bachbusters" and "Beethoven or Bust" - and I just about wore it out playing it so much. Over the years, it got 'lost' in a box somewhere. Then last week I was reminded of it, found a few cuts from each CD on utoob, and searched Amazon for them. Found a CD copy of each of them listed as "Used - Like new" for ~$5 each, free shipping, and ordered them. They came in yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised that each of them looked new, even appeared to have the original shrink-wrap still. I promptly ripped them to computer and copied them to my vintage oldie-but-goodie Samsung S3 smartie-phone.

Motorola S9's are the best bluetooth headphones I've ever had the pleasure of owning... lean, mean, and clean- light, cordless, and sound great! Moto has since come out with the "S9 HD", S10, and S11, but these plain ol' S9's are sounding some kind of good to me right now - listening to classical music expertly synthesized and recorded.

Is it strange to be listening to In A Gadda Da Vida one minute, and Bach the next?

Turn it up!

I just realized a vaping milestone was close, so checked the 'quit smoking' app on my phone and sure enough - yesterday at 5 pm was exactly 1000 days since I quit the marlboros!

yeeeeee!

Bach is almost finished, next up: Beethoven. A little sample, first cut on the CD -

did i post this already?... hope not

Hope I'm not keeping you up... am I playin' the music too loud?

Starting to feel like I need to lay back down and see if I can get my brain to SHUT UP for a while. ;)
