He heard & absorbed what you said, Iffy, so it wasn't wasted breath. What you taught him is what he's calling on now. He's experienced it & knows it works. But we all know that we had to be ready to quit smoking in order for vaping to work at all. Maybe he'll be ready this time.

Iffy, you echo my sentiments exactly. It's amazing, how when you get old(er), your much more willing to "tell it as it is"[emoji14] I don't care what others think anymore .. I don't have to impress anyone, and there's nothing more fun than jarring a closed mind, or "know it all"

Yeah they want to make it Oct 1st. I would think they would wait until after the elections. Or maybe they think they will get more votes for protecting us.

I didn't show as a nonsmoker until I hit my 1 year mark. That's when it showed up on my insurance statement. I'd question why she doesn't list you as exsmoker or something like that & make her change it. If she won't tell her you'll be looking for another Dr. You worked hard at not smoking. You deserve the recognition of your efforts.I told my new primary that I quit smoking an May 13, 2015. I also told her that I was vaping. I saw she put me down as a smoker on my records despite that I'm tobacco free and it's not smoking.

when I used to sell life insurance in the late 80's, there was no "former" smoker listing, you either did or didn't. We had to take their word for it, but we required two years smoke free to be listed for non smoker rates.
Boy I went to my prostetist yesterday and all the stuff he did to try to make it better made it worse so I removed everything but the damage is already done and it hurts worse again. They tried to get me in with the doc that operated on my femur and he didn't want anything to do with it. So now they have to try to find another. He looked at the xrays and he specializes in upper leg and hips so he said no way.
Honey, I'm so sorry. Did they say what you had done to it, that the one guy won't touch it. I can understand if he doesn't think he can fix it, but I'm with Kenna, I'd want the reason, and I'd also start researching other bone specialists in the country. One of my son's surgeries, the VA sent him to Dallas, about 3 hrs from here to one of the leading urologists in the country.
That's not right to get a run-around ... hope they get you someone fast so you get some answers.

You need to stress that you are smoke free and keep doing it until the MD educates herself on 21st century-speak. Make her change it!!!!! My pulmo doc has me down as a non-smoker. I've been smoke free for 5 years.
