There is my other quote. I watched the live stream earlier and saw my good friend Leslie and Judge go BOB in Tervs. Watching the Grammys, I should be ashamed of myself..

Judge is gorgeous! All those dogs seem so well behaved. Really enjoyed watching.

However, even today I am the king of sinus infections. Just got off a round of antibiotics for one yesterday.

Have you ever tried one of those neti pots/sinus rinses? I know an ENT doctor that uses one twice a day with great results. It can't be pleasant, but I'm sure it beats chronic sinus infections. I found a bottle that looks like it's easier to use than a neti pot called Nasopure (I haven't tried it). Look how happy she is - lol!

Saw Judge (the Terv) in his group competition (The Herding Group). What a beautiful dog! Didn't win. :( But, the German Shepherd did and I'm glad. They seldom win and I had a show quality shepherd for 15 years.:)
Since it's over, I guess it's ok if the spoiler displays...

Belgians never get any love in the Westminster groups. The last time (and perhaps only) time was a Malinois back in 2003. But then, Belgians are typically not advertised to death (yes, $$ for ads in show magazines), often owner handled (no big name face on the other end of the leash), so we don't stand a chance! But the upside - people are not going to take notes and run out and try to buy one! Though that does happen...

That is how I'm feeling this morning!

Yikes, we woke up about 3ish this morning with a tornado warning to the South of us! The pounding rain afterwards kept us awake until 5ish, then I fell back to sleep and now the sun is shining! Thank God it didn't come to our county, but the folks it did hit had some major damage.

Get warnings like that, and it makes ya sit up real straight!!

Oh, my friend Michelle was released from the hospital today and is at home! Yes, not a rehab center. She is doing better than they thought she would. Praise God! :)

That is SO great to hear!!

My son has used the Neti pot and said it really wasn't so bad. I just can't get past the idea. Some people swear by them though.

That scary!! Don't think I'd be able to get back to sleep after that. I'm glad the Big T didn't drop in to visit you!!

I saw it, too, he was gorgeous! Deb has to record the show to watch later, do she hasn't seen it yet. That's why we're supposd to use the Spoilers. So we don't spoil it for her. She so looks forward to the dog shows.

I'm loving the rain today.....I have an incredible ....warm temp of 51...:)

Of course....it's just for today....going back down tonight, but such a nice reprieve from what I've been having here...
Well, yes, I'd say that is incredible......we were at 48o this morning.
I love the rain too, just not that threatening pounding rain that hits your windows so hard it sounds like small COPYRIGHTDMCA. That's what we had last night....or early this morning, I should say!

When I was working on my masters degree I was graduate assistant to a professor running an all day technology workshop for teachers of disabled kids.

1st She forgot the completion certificates in her office and sent me for them.

2nd She couldn't find her pen to sign them. So I handed her mine. Your basic Bic stick pen. She couldn't figure out how to open it until I pulled the cap off for her.

Yeah that was an interesting semester. :)
Now, that IS scary but rather expected! My brother was Assistant Dean at New Paltz University, and I do swear, he had no common sense.
Hi everyone!

So...yesterday was a very trying day....I discovered that my mind is deteriorating quicker than my body.

Now bear in mind that I've been making chocolate chip cookies for over a half a century...but yesterday i failed..miserably and completely..I wound up throwing out a total of five dozen cookies...

Background... I hadn't make cookies in months and i had a strong desire for them for days, so i finally decided to make some yesterday, and decided to make a double batch so i could give a two dozen for my GD and two dozen for a neighbor and, of course, a dozen or so for me.

I used a 1-cup aluminum measuring cup for the flour, then poured it into the large glass measuring cup...did this four times plus one as the recipe calls for 2 1/2 c. for a batch. Then I added the other dry ingredients, mixed it up, then put together the wet ingredients, mixed into the dry ingredients in increments, stirring each time....but it didn't blend well...too dry....added more shortening and brown sugar...still was too dry...added a little more shortening...the color was still too pale...more brown sugar.... really hard to blend...tasted it...awful!!!!

Threw the whole damn mess out....tried to figure out what i did wrong...my word, I've ALWAYS made great chocolate chip cookies:confused: Sat down in my recliner, watched hours of TWD thinking about how I could've messed up so badly...then it dawned on me that I'd doubled the dry mix, but didn't double the wet ingredients.

Back to the kitchen, washed all the bowls and things, tried again, using the proper amount of ingredients... but only a single batch this time, I was running outa steam...thank goodness know one would know that i could screw up a recipe that I'd been making forever ( I chuckled to myself...after i got done throwing a few fits...)

Hmmm... the brown sugar is kinda hard...how to soften it...the pkg. said to put it in a microwavable bowl and set the timer in 20 second increments....did that two times before i thought it was soft enough, proceeded to make another batch...looks ok...tastes ok...in the oven they go... first two dozen look good.....tried one after they cooled enough....crisp!!! what?!

Took the second two dozen out of the oven before it was as dark as the first....put the last cookie sheet in the oven...tried a cookie from the second dozen...hmmm... not up to my standards...Kept an eagle eye on the last dozen...took them out when i could tell they weren't even nearly cooked enough...let them cool, tried one...yuck!!!!

I have come to the conclusion that my brain is, in fact, deteriorating a lot quicker than my ole body:(

And I've been recuperating since yesterday with a lotta naps and outright sleep.....

and no cookies

Yep, the worst part of that is NO COOKIES!

Oooh, crisp cookies are what cookies are all 'bout!
Dat's wat I'm tawkin bout!

A lot of folks on another forum I visit swear by the Neti pot, but like you, I can't get past it. If I truly needed it though, I might have second thoughts.......eh.....nah!

Believe me, we're glad too! When that system moved out, it seemed to be fast, but not while it was active!

I did...waited a few minutes to see if the cat would come running first
He probably headed behind the toilet tho.

Not a clue as to why he goes there to hide from storms !

Small enclosed space. Instinct I guess but, my cats found spaces like that too. That's why I built them "cat caves". Basically carpet lined and covered boxes on a small stand that they could hide in and still survey their territory. :)

The storms came through here about 1-2 am. Tasha gets paranoid during storms since one summer there was a huge crack of lightning/thunder almost in the back yard. I jumped too! This morning she woke me up, so I went into another bedroom where she is allowed on the bed and we snuggled through the rain.

Today's my 3rd Vaperversary!

Here's video from 2 days ago. I thought my buddy Buddy's horse was brown, but obviously I'd been looking at the wrong horse. Danny the horse is 10 years old and Buddy was there for the birth. Danny's father was a Foundation Quarter horse, and Danny's mother is a Reining Quarter horse.

The free wifi here at Circus Circus in Vegas is a lot faster than my DSL at home. Only took about 15 minutes to upload this video to YouTube, whereas it would have taken about 2 hours at home.

Cats are decidedly odd when it comes to water.

The Himalayan I had as a kid would jump in the pool and paddle around.

The cat I had as an adult was a whole different matter.

She would follow me into the bathroom when I was going to take a shower yelling and complaining and grabbing the hem of my bathrobe like she could stop me. She would HOWL the whole time I was in the shower. When I got out she would look at me like "I tried to save you mama!"

When I moved to Iowa for graduate school I had this huge sliding glass door in the living room. She would sit there and watch the snow fall for hours. So one day I decided to see what she would do with it so I opened the sliding glass door. She darted out and into a 2 foot snow drift. The complaints were loud and plentiful coming from that little black face which was all I could see of her in the middle of the drift. Upon rescue she continued to inform me that her being cold and wet was all my fault for the next 3 hours.
