Meet Me in St Louie Louie

Only in Lancaster, PA.......:D

It's hip, it's in, it's Going Green .. what's not to like .. ?? As long as the "poop catcher" or whatever it's called, is attached and functional .. you don't want to be "behind" these things when an unexpected load gets, er, unloaded .. ;)

I'm doing the great clean out. I no longer wear heels - at least, not higher than an inch -

Yeah, I ditched the stilettos a few years back, balance issues and all .. I always appreciated the way they helped lift my .... into a more pleasing configuration, however, all things must pass ;)

But I did spot Elvis last year .. ;)

Being that tomorrow will entail a Marathon Session of all "Hunger Games" films, possibly lasting into the wee hours, with a short break in order to catch any new Easter Pope Francis material, shared with a long time close friend and in the Man Cave, I have been forced to inventory the contents of my booze stash ..

Patrón Silver .. check
Cointreau .. check
Grand Mariner .. check
Sea salt .. check

I'm now forced to make a trip to the Kroger, and hunt down ::

Lime juice
Sweet & Sour Mix
Simple Syrup
Queen Size Pitted Olives (I bought some the other day but mistakenly picked up the Queen Size with Pits, don't ask)

Thusly, when fully stocked, I will have the ingredients for the World's Best Margarita / and plenty of them .. :) .. combined with my World Famous Shrimp Chimichanga's and a Happy Easter is ensured .. wish me luck .. :) .. go, Katniss .. (of course, the films are predictive of a Trump win in November, but you all knew that .. ;))

Not necessarily in that order, and possibly with the final addition of the following desert delicacy, in order to achieve absolute and without question Inebriated Culinary Bliss and possible Gastric Explosion .. (I mean that in the nicest way possible, and would invite all of you, but it's an intimate gathering that did require RSVP of one ..) ;)

Edesia and Bibesia would approve .. ;)

I hope you're not going to ruin the Margaritas with "sweet and sour mix," whatever that is! The world's best margaritas are made with blue agave tequila, Cointreau (or grand mariner, if you insist), fresh squeezed lime juice and simple syrup. Period. :). Just made a batch and am getting ready to pull the glasses (salted rims) from the freezer. Yum!!!

I'm glad to know you gave up your high heels. So bad for your back ...

Yes, when I realized I needed a Spinal Transplant, they had to go .. ;) .. some days, I miss them .. :)

We all choose our particular potion based on our own tastes, mine just happens to be ::

1 1/4 ounce Patrón tequila
3/4 ounce Cointreau
3/4 ounce Grand Marnier
1 ounce squeezed lime juice .. or lime from a lime bulb
4 ounces sweet and sour mix
1/2 ounce simple syrup
lime wedge
Queen Size Pitted olive or 4 (got to get the veggie's in)

I also drink Miller Genuine Draft with about a 1/4th portion of V8 Spicy Tomato Juice .. so there is that .. you'll find I am not the Poster Child for convention .. ;) .. oh, and I like Box Wine, because you get a lot for a little money and it lasts a long time .. however, others here will know that my closest friend is Mr Jack Daniels .. :) .. he and I have been partners for a very long time, as my liver will testify .. :)

Here's mine:
1 part fresh squeezed lime juice
1 part Cointreau
2 parts tequila (usually Lunazol Silver)
A smidge simple syrup
Wedge of lime for garnish
I usually mix em in a big jar (a liter) that has hash marks on it, so it's "parts," not ounces :).

I'm well acquainted with Johnny Walker and his sidekick, the Famous Grouse, especially in winter. An I just eat the olives!

Shhhh .. we don't want to be labeled a lush .. or do we .. ?? ;) .. Scotch Whiskey, Mike should be here .. his go to is ::

Glenlivet.jpg

Of course, Mike and Janet are fondly nicknamed by me as Thurston Howell III and Lovey .. ;) .. thus helping explain Mike's taste in Scotch .. ;)

Free Tip of the Day .. many, many bars take empty bottles of Jack Daniels and fill them with Evan Williams, since the taste is virtually identical .. and Mr Evan is a third or more less costly .. Evan Williams also makes an excellent bottle of Honey Bourbon, especially if you are on a budget .. you can usually get three bottles, at least, of Evan Williams for the price of two bottles of JD, sometimes a 4 to 2 ratio if you catch the Evan Williams on sale at around $10 bucks .. bump it up to the 1.75 liter bottle and you can do even better .. "Helping You Stay Inebriated Within Budget, Because a Well Informed Drinker is Our Goal" .. :)

Just doing my part to add to the Collective .. ;)

Everything sounds great cept the salt and I just never liked the salted rim. Love the drink, hate the salt so I just leave it off. :D

My maiden name is Olive. All my growing years I got all the razzing "Hey Olive Oil, where's Popeye?", " are you pitted or do you have a pimento? ", " did you know there is a national pimento shortage? " among others. The kicker - I hate olives! All way, shape and forms. Yeck.

Personally, I am a vodka drinker. Fave is Absolute, but I don't drink it often. Cheap is OK for mixed drinks cuz after the first I can't tell anyway, :confused:o_O:toast:

Get a bottle of Aristocrap Vodka and a new Brita filter pitcher. Run the vodka through the filter 4 times. Taste it. Bet ya can't tell the difference. The filtering is really the only difference. Not a lot of people know that. I was pretty much amazed.

Hum, we travel with a Brita filter to filter the water in motels for drinking. Might have to try that at home with a dedicated filter, the dogs do not need vodka! Drunk Belgians, does not sound good. (I would NEVER give my pups any form of alcohol!)

First story about our trip.

You know how we always say make sure you have backups for your backups - believe me you need to follow that rule. We were in an area that it would have been a 12 hour trip through various forms of transportation to find the parts of civilization that knew what ecigs were.

I took 3 devices and had extra everything. Two devices died/were destroyed - turns out Vamos do not hold up well when dropped from the back of a motorcycle speeding down the road. The next device just fried the chip and beyond that do not know what went wrong, but my last device with some assistance from some plastic wrap (to hard to explain) and epoxy glue survived until I dropped it in the trash upon my trip home - just to let you know - it was my old (4.5yrs old) Joyetech Ego that survived the trip - well- kind of survived...

Juice - this was the hard one to plan. I had some left in the Philippines from last years trip, but I did not want to count on it for use in case it went bad - so - I mixed one 30ml bottle for each week of my trip and one extra bottle for good measure - 10 bottles in all - well surprise surprise surprise - when I got to the Philippines I only had 6 bottles - four were left on my dresser to be put in my backpack as part of my carry on luggage, but dumb old me forgot... Luckily the old juice that I had left in the Philippines was still vapable - a little dark and peppery, but still vapable...

So when you are headed out the door for a long trip - double up on all of what you thought you needed to take and double check it all before you walk out the door - I got lucky and will not get caught like that again...

But I did have enough backups and juice (sort of)... And I did survive... :D
