Morning everyone. Today is my scoping but I don't think it's going to happen. Believe it or not the prep isn't working too well. Strange but might be related to my pain meds. Tried not taking them but, that didn't work so well. Rather miss the scoping (who wouldn't?) than be in pain and withdrawal. :( The doc has my complete list of meds and you would think he would take that into account. :-x:nah:
Oh no! Pain meds & opiates are bad that way. Ugh!

Nope Deb's ....'s running up the back post! [emoji1]
I had to look back.................uhmmmmmmm that wuz BUG not ....!!!!

Actually, he's not the only one that posted on the first day. The others?

mattiem, MikeE3, Semiretired, tj99959, VapRon, Iffy, Tiny, Janet H, wendallb, sandybeach, classwife, n9emz, Gadd, wyojoe, bobalex, and Richie G.
like times a million! Miss so many of these folks! Anything could happen to any of us at any time.......and we all know what it's like to wait and wonder about someone who disappears, particularly if they're ill. I really hope everyone has a plan in place to notify the porch, should illness, injury or worse befall any of us. It can be as simple as telling a loved one to call one of us, who can then notify everyone here.

He went out to my toolbox and got a tube of Super Glue Gel. We dried it good with a heat gun, he glued the tooth in. That was six years ago. No problems since.
kewl. I wonder if the gel is different, cuz I know super glue is or at least used to be water soluable.

Her dedication to her family was touching and how they made out during the Maine snows. And I remember waiting to find out what they decided to name her new pup. Tegan.
Jup! Nice memories.

So i got a liter of nic in the deep freeze now, what shall i spend money on next?

Last stinkie 10/15/2013
6 more liters of nic!! Glad you have some money to spend now!! :)

She said it was 18 pesos to the dollar. She works with people who have relatives there and go there all the time so she gets stuff through them she said like $200 shoes for 40 but she would never go there herself which I am glad for. She would be with Jacob but it is dangerous that way too. One of the highest murder rates in the world.
No way could you get me to go to any part of Mexico!! I'm with Janet on that one.

Believe it or not the prep isn't working too well.
wow........didn't think it was possible for that stuff to not work well.

Hope everyone has a great day. Mornin y'all!!

That sux. I'm thinking about them for my uppers but now may have to nix that. Do you think it was just the skill of the guy who did them or was it the bone loss from the pulling of the teeth? I need partials in the back on both sides of the lower too.
I don't know at what level to assign fault to different factors. The fact that I only lost implants in the upper jaw certainly is meaningful but I don't know if it means that the surgeon should have known they wouldn't hold.

I also was a heavy smoker until Feb 2013, so I was still smoking for 3 more years after the implants were put in. Smoking greatly increases the probability of implant failure. I'm hoping that my upper jaw will now be able to hold implants more securely.

It only takes 1 incident that includes you and it's 100%.
Yes, but that's also true in the world's safest city.

Sprinter (Spring + Winter) weather
That's clever. I never heard it before.

Then you are the most senior of the porchers?!?!:wub:

Absofrickinlutely! I've been telling y'all that for a number of years but every once in a while someone would decide that they were the "senior". But.....yep..that's me.

If you are referring to Lulu's physical age....most likely, but.....if you're referring to who has been with these threads the longest of our surviving members.....that would be Uncle Willie, who has been here from the first day that Randall started them........;)

Older People 55 and Up

Chronological only. Wouldn't want to cast aspersions on UW seniority.

Well, I guess that 'someone' would be me, cause I never really knew your age, but I concede that yes, you are the oldest! But, I still don't know your age! :)

Brought To You By The "For What It's Worth" File ::

About 12 years ago, at the urging of my Regular Dentist, I had what is known as gingival flap surgery to treat a medium case of gum disease (periodontitis). My gums were separated from my teeth and folded back temporarily to allow the oral surgeon to reach the root of the tooth and the bone.

She then did what is known as scaling and root planning, essentially deep cleaning the plaque and tartar, ending with stitching the gums back in place ..

The end result being, I kept my real teeth, however, at a relatively large financial cost .. in fact, I still have all but two Original Teeth (if you discount the Wisdom Teeth, which had to go anyway and left taking most of my Wisdom with them) .. which, I guess means the procedure worked .. although my teeth are now getting weak and after the chip, I "chew lightly" .. read on for chip info ::

At any rate, a few weeks back, I chipped a piece of a molar off during a Cheetos Binge Eating Session (Crunchy Style, thank you) .. the chip was not enough to reach the root, and, in my drunken stupor, I felt the chip in my mouth and thought "That's odd, it feels like a small rock" .. fishing it out and realizing what it was, I promptly retrieved a small jar and stashed the chip in water, thinking maybe the Dentist could just glue it back on .. ;) .. I mean, they sew fingers back on, why not glue on a tooth piece .. ?? :) .. (on a side note, I am consulting with Saul Goodman of Screwem, Goode & Hart to decide if a lawsuit against the fine folks at Frito-Lay might be in the offing)

The end result of all this being (yes, I know it took a while to get here, but when has anyone known me to be concise .. ??), I have been informed that if I decide to go with Dental Implants at some point, thus having some, or all remaining teeth removed, it will require the grafting of some sort of cadaver bone into areas of my jaw, with which the "bushings" will need in order to properly "embed" .. it's the gift that just keeps on giving .. I'm all for recycling, and this scenario certainly takes it to the extreme ..

How this may or may not relate to your scenario, I have no idea .. ;)

My last 4 or 5 natural teeth were pulled in 2009. Or rather, what was left of them was pulled; there wasn't much.

The guy who installed my implants told me that my upper jaw had just enough bone to attempt the implants. Obviously, they didn't last up there. The guy also told me that continuing to smoke was just about the worst thing I could do. I've known people who had worse outcomes than myself, losing all their implants in both upper and lower jaws.

Whether bone grafts are necessary is a case-by-case thing, dependent on thorough examination, x-rays, etc.

Just a few for the Fine Young Ladies on the Thread .. while I continue to maintain non-disclosure on my age, and, it's irrelevant anyway, these may give you at least a few hints since I consider these, and many others, my coming of age soundtrack .. which is all you're going to get .. ;)

But, Willie - we all know how old you are --- 29 plus postage and handling... The problem comes from the fact that postage and handling is exceeding the baseline by quite a large amount these days...

:: Chuckle :: As I aged, and each of my wives (I did only have one at a time, regardless of what some may say) .. passed the age of 29, I would always continue to give a Birthday Card, always always a Hallmark, that said, "Happy 29th, Baby" .. ;) .. "When you care enough to send the very best" ;)

Like Deba said, mo' nic.

The doc has my complete list of meds and you would think he would take that into account. :-x:nah:

Had an incident where Patty was given a new drug in da hospital. The 'release info package', with new script, cautioned not to use da new drug with one of her ol' daily meds! Who caught da discrepancy... moi! Since then, I now always ask 'bout med compatibility and then verify thru research at home.

Yep, same here - my regular doc gives me a list of my choices - tells me the drill about each one - let's me research them and then I pick the one I want... He says I am the only patient that he has that he does this for... It would probably be a real pita to do it for everyone...

They couldn't pay me to go to Mexico now. Went to Tijuana in the 70s but, not now. Lawless, corrupt place. Hate it for the good folks down there.
Algodonnes is cool. You just park your vehicle on the indian rez right on the US side and walk accross. It is mainly well completely for tourists, mostly senior citizens to get Rx's and Denture and Dental work. It's right on the border between Yuma and there is a bigger city in Mexico where all the people that work Algodonnes live. When we went there which was 15 years ago very safe and heard it stil was. You just walk maybe 150' through a covered passage and customs and you are there. Thats where I got my switchblade from Milan. Still have it still works great. Carry it with me everywhere but going up to the Cop Shop here at our little village on the 3rd Wednesday and get a concealed weapons permit Pretty easy 50bucks and they do a check on you so nothing to worry about if you are not a criminal in which case you are probably carrying already.

Tell me about it I have to take stool softener 1/2 cap of Muralax in Smooth Move tea every night. When I tried the cleanout my body being as screwed up as it is retained most of the fluid. I gained 5lbs overnight, thought I was going to have a heart attack. My wife just had to take a bottle of Muralax mixed in white grape juice and worked fine for her. My old doc told me all I would have needed was an enema since I have very little of my stomach left and intestine is shortened but I made the mistake of going to the VA. Never again. I had it up both ends. They couldn't complete the rear one because of my heart and Fentanyl and of course they tried to use Fentanyl which made my BP drop too much. My wife they used that stuff that Michael Jackson died on and no prob.
