Probably less than I have bought the original Star Wars trilogy in .. hmmm .. Beta, VHS, LaserDisk, Blu Ray, Extended Edition, Extended Directors Cut, Martian Quadraphonic Micro Chip with Free Diamond Bling PV, etc .. I'm sure there is more if I check the closet ..

Prince fought YouTube vehemently .. I hesitated to even put up a video but I really wanted some to be able to see the man with just a guitar and his voice .. to paraphrase Prince .. "YouTube seems to be able to block porn and other unsavory material, yet it cannot seem to comply with my wish to stop allowing the free use of my music and creation." .. at any rate, he had a guy that kept watch on YouTube and other sites that would demand the take down of any Prince material if it was spotted .. I guess he's still on the pay role for now ..

I was concerned about the height of the bulbs because the shabby (cheap) light fixture has a very limited space for the bulb to fit in. Too tall and it won't work.....

Some LED bulbs specify that they should not be used in completely enclosed fixtures. I don't know why.

It would be nice if they could just remember him for his accomplishments and stop looking for dirt.....but of course with the media today.....they can't even get the info right....

With the coverage that I watched, I was lucky to be watching reporters who were true fans and who were not digging up dirt.

Prince covered other artists' work on many occasions. That poster strikes me as being more "anti-anyone-who-isn't Prince" than "pro-Prince".

The procedure is completely automated and is done with digital software that recognizes any piece of music by its digital dna. No human attention is required. For instance, if I posted a quad copter video with a song that the publisher did not grant permission for conditional use, it would be taken down in short order, and I would get my hand slapped by YouTube. There's no way to fool the software.

Yes .. but it requires a human if the site, such as YouTube, does not program the AutoBot to do the job .. which was the case .. in order to report the uploads .. YouTube is very lax unless they are policed ..

I can't imagine how impossible it must be for anyone to keep track of the many thousands of videos uploaded daily to YouTube. Most would require being watched from start to finish to see if unpermitted music was included. It would take a huge army of people doing nothing but watching YouTube videos 24/7. A single individual would be like a single grain of sand on a beach.

I get a notice from YouTube for every single song that I add to my videos. It does not matter if I only use part of a song, I always get the notice. If I use more than one song in a video, I get a separate notice for each song. These are songs for which the publisher has already granted conditional permission. I don't get the notice SOME of the time or MOST of the time, I get the notice EVERY time. I have never tried to use a song for which this conditional permission is not granted. Most songs have such permissions but some do not. I can't use anything by the Beatles, or Traveling Wilburys, and I can only use some Rolling Stones stuff. I'd love to use the studio version of Let It Bleed but cannot.

Many of the songs I use are blocked in some countries. Most frequently, the countries are Germany and Switzerland, so I don't fret it. Sometimes the list of blocked countries is long.

The amount of elapsed time after I upload the video before I receive the notice can vary from instantly to more than 24 hours. The average time is about 10 minutes.

Here's the notice I got for my most recent video. Every notice is identical except for the video title, copyrighted song and name of the claimant.

A copyright owner using Content ID claimed some material in your video.

This is just a heads up
Don’t worry. You’re not in trouble and your account standing is not affected by this.

There are either ads running on your video, with the revenue going to the copyright owner, or the copyright owner is receiving stats about your video’s views.

Roto, so sorry you're having a tough time with the goofy changes. Don't they know you're doing it your way because you already know what works! You might have to give it a fair shot though and show them you were right in the first place. Arrrrgh!

It's not so much that they are changing the way I am doing things. They LOVE the way I run this base. Administratively they are doing some really wacky stuff right now. New time sheets that suck a donkey.........having to have our orders approved by people who have NO CLUE as to what is going on in the field. The new director addressing us like we are freaking kindergartners. "Go team go". Makes me want to gag. I'm an adult. Talk to me like one.

I guess I'm just not cognizant of the amount of copyright-infringing videos, since I have no particular reason to be concerned about it. Like most everybody I've noticed that a good number of videos get removed and are not available for viewing. From my personal viewpoint I'm just glad that the copyright holders of the majority of musical selections allow me to legally download their music and then legally use it in my own videos.

Zenify and others ..
