Abby is still out of it. I'm worried about my doggie. Don't know what I would do right now without her. Kinda keeps me sane these days. Here's her pic tonight, noticed the stitches on her pretty little noggin. :(
she will be sore for a few days. Both her noggin and tummy. Takes about 24-48 hrs to recover from anesthesia. Just keep her quiet, no jumping until stitches come out. She will be OK.{{{hugs}}}

OK, to our East coast porchers, Matt, Dave et al, please keep a close eye (no pun intended) on 'Cane Joaquin!

My fav weather blogger has an update HERE. Probably won't spend too much time on da porches dis evening in dat, besides being nuts, I really am a weather nut.
Thanks, Iffy. The ground is so soaked already. It's been raining a lot every day this week and with beaucoup more inches very likely from Joaquin there will certainly be flooding problems and uprooted trees.

Unrelated to anything except my NCIS and Criminal Minds addictions:
Can you suddenly freeze your muscles and hold yourself perfectly still while in the midst of delivering a death blow, until you hear the words "stop, you're surrounded!"?

If so, you can portray a murderous TV villain, until such time as directors and film editors get some sort of a clue about proper timing. Since said directors and editors have gotten no clue in at least 50 years, the job security outlook is excellent!

Got that one from a seller on FleaBay. Lots of wraps there for only $6.50 or so. Lets me change the wraps when I want a different look without breakin' the

bank.
kewl! Did you cut down one of the wraps to put on the tank as well? Love that look.

We didn't quite have the same idea at the hospital. They did, however, change it to discharging him this Saturday. That is still good news.

I need to go find some rails and see how hard they are to install on the steps in the garage. Just 3 steps but they suggested it would be beneficial. Would probably help me also since I am such a klutz.

yay!!! Glad he'll be getting out, you need the rest!!! Jup as everyone said, definitely put up safety stuff in the bathroom also. Iffy (I think) brought it up, but to go a step further, talk to a caseworker tomorrow if you can, before he gets out of there if possible, to see how to get medicare to pay for quite a lot of it. May even do the garage steps, or there may be other programs that will do that as well. Sometimes churches or other community groups have folks who will come out and install rails etc as well.

The first episode of Limitless (the pilot episode) was a few days ago (Saturday maybe?). Episode 2 was last night, on CBS if I remember correctly.
that's weird I could only get 1 and 3. Is it a serial type thing, or just in the relationships with one another? Luckily I only will miss one if I end up liking it.

They make handles that are held onto the wall or edge of the tub by suction. Just puthem where you want them & flip the little toggle switch & that sucks it to the surface. They are super strong, too
My son's showers are somewhat textured, I wonder if those will still work on that. I'd forgotten about those, but had wondered when I saw them on TV if they really worked super great.

Today is my Friday, and it couldn't have come soon enough. I can't wait to get the hell out of here!!
yay!!! We can't wait to have you home and on here and in da h/o

Watching Nature on PBS and saw a three toed sloth. Reminded me of Papa Sloth. Has anybody heard anything from or about him. Kind of miss old three toes.:D Last I heard he was teaching and would be back with us in a few weeks and that was months ago.
Jup I miss him too. Tutu said he was supposed to be back on more once one of the semesters was done, but he never did come back. Maybe he quit teaching, went to the bahamas and him and cave are partying all over the place!

Joaquin is looking like she's (he, it...) is coming right down our throats here in Hampton, VA.. If your.not quite.sure where that is, it's just across through river from Norfolk.
oh dang....I was thinking sometime back you'd said you were a couple hours or so from the beach, making me thing you were more inland. But I make up stuff I thought folks said all the time. Hope y'all will be ok, and no major power outages.

You might be confusing something I said with something Matt said. I'm a couple hours inland from the Atlantic Ocean, but straining your eyes from Texas to see the East coast it would look like Matt and me live really close to each other.

The tank has a fired on enamel transfer on it. Got it here: http://www.bedazzletubes.com/ Kathy (the artist) is a fellow vaper and a real pleasure to deal with. She offers designs in other tanks too.

AFAIK, unless 'they' have a brand new style, no, the suction bars will not 'adhere' to textured surfaces. In fact, I was going to mount another bar outside the shower door entrance, but the trim tile spacing wouldn't allow that. That's why I'll be investing in the metal bars.

I have done several grab bar installations for an old friend (RIP) of mine and have a couple of "lessons learned" that might be helpful.

1 - Have the individual that will be using the grab bars get into and out of the shower/tub several times to get an idea where the "natural" fall of the hand would be when entering and exiting the tub or shower. Also look at the required "leverage" needed in both operations.

2 - SECURELY mount the grab bars to solid wall structure (studs or concrete block). DO NOT use wall anchors to drywall or any other material that will not carry the required weight. Remember that in a fall the grab bar may be required to carry several times the individuals weight. Fasten the bar directly to a stud at BOTH ends. If a stud is not positioned correctly, open the wall and install blocking to accept the mounting end of the bar. I know opening and closing a tiled wall or removing and reinstalling a fiberglass tub surround is a pain in the ... but, you are depending on this thing to save your loved ones life and now is not the time to get cheap. Suction cup mounted grab bars are ok to stabilize the individual but WILL NOT save them in a fall.

Hope this information helps.

Now it's back to bed for me. I am.having a hard time falling asleep tonight and came down to read a little (I no longer take any electronics to bed with me. I found it helps a lot on my falling asleep.) and check on the hound. She seems to be OK. Doc sent us home with stuff for pain for her but, said not to give her any tonight. He said to wait until in the morning. They are some sort of liquid NSAID.
With that I'll say good night and head up to try it again. Night all and I hopefully will see you all in the morning.;)

Everyone went to bed, so I went to watch the latest episode of The Voice, and..... the silly little song from the one and only time any of you will ever hear me sing ( I promise ;)) was performed by one of the contestants......

Nope, not the person on The Voice, but the one who I had heard sing it, a long time ago...

It's a continuing series. Just a different crisis every week. Although there will probably be one crisis that continues from weemk to week. Like NCIS. I really like Scorpion, too.

They work really great! I don't think they'll hold if the wall is very textured, tho. Thet have to have a smoother surface to maintain suction.
