Maybe. But if the TC device isn't programmed for the correct TCR its temp regulation won't be as accurate. How inaccurate would depend on how different the TCR is. Might be just a few degrees, might be a lot.
And it's not programming a temp offset. It's telling the program how much the resistance will change with a given temp change. A positive TCR, like that given, means the resistance goes up with increasing temp, and if that value is way off, then the amount of power delivered to hold a temp will be off as well, with unpredictable results.
Now, I'm just speaking as a retired dam electrician, don't have a TC mod in my stable. I'll let all you guinea pigs work the bugs out for me
