Honor indeed! Salute...

I can't even put into words how I've been feeling this Veterans Day. The celebrations and appreciation for all our military always warms my heart and I truly am so grateful to all our men and women who have served. Most recently though my thoughts are heavy, having lost our son-in-law in a helo crash 8 years ago. Our daughter is now engaged to another helo pilot. His birthday is tomorrow and he will be leaving for Afghanistan tomorrow afternoon. Please keep him in your prayers.
Prayers and hope for a safe return.

Being the mother of a soldier, my Dad was a soldier, my grandfather fought in one of the WWs (dang old brain, but I was born on his birthday so Grampa an I were very close), all these thanks and dedications just grab my heart. @Boden, I sent your "Soldier, I Thank You" video to my son. He is FL National Guard but did house raids in Iraq. Camped out in Hussain 's palace.. If I had known at the time I would have been more of a wreck than I was.

I already said Thank you once, but can't say it enough.. Thank You all you veterans, you made the greatest sacrafice of all. For us. Thank you.

Edit: Russell, nice bday present!

@2legsshrt ... so what is it w/ people out in your neck of the woods. Just saw a news article that the students at Seattle Pacific University could not 'present' the colors or say the pledge of alligence during a veteran's day program in a university church because "there is diversity of views on campus' over doing it. What the heck!
That's the west side of the state. It's like two different countries there and here. Lots of Californians over there. It's just like the politicians are dead set against vaping on the west side not on the east side. Seems like there are a lot of controversies at SPU don't know why. That's where all the money is in this state also. There are a lot of foreign students at SPU also, when you drive around that area it looks like Saudi Arabia.

I actually miss it everyday. Do you?

Just got an email from the place I get my flavors from in Germany and they have been very busy there too because they are trying to make stupid laws there also. Don't know what kind but hoping I will still be able to get my flavors. I'm going to stock up on those too. I know these last at least a couple years in a cool dark place.

It's all those lovely liberal things they're teaching the college students these days. What ever happened to them teaching them to think for themselves???

His birthday is tomorrow and he will be leaving for Afghanistan tomorrow afternoon. Please keep him in your prayers.

Well, he will certainly be put on my prayer list!! Why are they still sending more people to Afghanistan anyway???

No matter where I am on Veteran's Day, I always make it a practice to thank every Veteran I see and shake their hand. Yesterday was no exception. A lot of our pilots are Veterans, but I didn't get a chance to thank them because they were all flying when I got in. My immediate boss is a Navy Veteran. I thanked him, and he didn't know where to put himself. :) One of the other mechanics on this shift is a Veteran. I thanked him and shook his hand. He was genuinely surprised, but thanked me for acknowledging his service. My crews are the best!

Guess i need more coffeee..or it's too early....

You need more coffee. I shouldn't be drinking any more myself, but it doesn't much matter. I'm headed to bed shortly anyway. I got in late this morning, did laundry and had every intention of staying up all day so I would be tired enough to go to bed early tonight. I can already see THAT'S not going to happen!!
