@Iffy , that thread with the 'you need to learn to use the search bar' or something like that got axed. You did a real good job talking to him while it was there. By the time I thought of what to say to him, it was gone, POOF. :)

I wonder if you get to keep your likes. :)

Once in awhile, nobody posts from my 25 page watch list, and I get to go looking around. When I do that, I usually run into somebody from this thread or the front porch. It's funny how that happens. Of course, I don't work full-time and am a terrible housekeeper, so have plenty of time to catch up. :)

Hi to you all! I am new to the forum and was glad to see this discussion. I am "over 55" and been cig free for 11 whole days! Smoked 40 years, non-stop. Got off by using a cigalike and am ready for more battery power, so going shopping tomorrow. Hope I can understand the kids in the vape shop as they try to explain it all to me. I have read a bunch, and youtubed-ed a lot to try to understand what my next step should be. Also the newbie discussion here on the forum has been helpful. Going for the Ego type next, I guess......but not gonna light a cig, that's for sure!
Welcome Liz. Don't let em sell you anything you don't understand. We're here to help if you need us. Other than that, pull up a chair and stay a while.

Welcome to The Porches, Liz! Grab a seat, a vape, & beverage of your choice. I started vapeing 16 months ago & quit smoking the same day after over 44 years. I never thought it would happen. i'd tried a cigalike & put it away, it was just not satisfying enough to even make me want to skip a cig. A couple of months later I grabbed an ego blstr pack on impluse, with 2 bottles of 24mg single flavor juices 7 that was the day I quit. Congratulations! You are going to start seein & feeling lots of changes in the way things taste & the way you feel very quickly!

A thought on the FDA killing flavors. Now that alone is not a good thing at all but, it will make it hard to kill flavorless nicotine liquid which would be good for DIYers.

That's a bit of a double edged sword. The current concern about eliminating diketones and other bad ingredients from flavors used for vaping by the flavor companies will be lost. I, for one......and only speaking for myself.....prefer to buy my flavors with as few harmful ingredients as possible.

Will those brands that have been cooperating by listing flavors for vaping and cooking separately, do so anymore if flavor in our juice is banned ?

A few of them have reformulated some of their flavors to eliminate diketones from flavors being used in vaping. Will testing and reformulating continue, or be dropped as an unnecessary expense?

I've tried flavorless juice.....I don't do well with it.

I did not say it was perfect. I look at it as one small glimmer of a prayer of things being a teensy bit doable.

You obviously have missed a large chunk of my history with DIY and concern about those same diketones for well over 2 years now.

The news frankly is dire when it comes to the deeming. I will take whatever small bit we can salvage out of it all.

Welcome!! And wahoooooooooo on no cigs for 11 days, that's fantastic!! You've found the best place to be on the forum! :) Definitely don't let em sell ya sumpthin at the B&M you aren't comfy with. The ego is fine, but just like the cigalikes, many don't stay with it long. some do though. Most folks really love the Eleaf Isticks and there are lots of folks here who use them and can help you with it. I would certainly suggest looking into that, with a GS air tank, or a nautilus tank. I will tell ya though, unless you just really need to get something tomorrow, you'll be able to find it much cheaper online, and most places have fairly quick shipping.

They cant ban my flavors, i get my flavoring at wal mart

Do you just get the flavors for candy? Elaborate a bit if you don't mind.

Today, Friday the 13th of Nov 2015, makes 1000 days since I had my last cigarette. Thanks to vaping!
Wahoooooo!! That's great Dave!!

Mornin all!!
