Morning, Matt! It's cold here this morning, too. All of 55. And so it begins. This is the first actual cold morning we've had, I haven't had to turn on heat yet, but now starts that period where we go back & forth between heat & a/c. Both in one day. Heat in the mornings to knock down the chill, then everything off for awhile, then a/c when it warms up later. If I wrte just me none of this would be going on, but The Mom is either too cold or too hot.
Seems like Doree and I have different thermometers these days too. I'll be roasting and she'll be freezing or the other way around. Hopefully that will settle down soon.

Oh, yea, that is perennial in this home....it's almost become a joke....operative word......almost.

Hi to you all! I am new to the forum and was glad to see this discussion. I am "over 55" and been cig free for 11 whole days! Smoked 40 years, non-stop. Got off by using a cigalike and am ready for more battery power, so going shopping tomorrow. Hope I can understand the kids in the vape shop as they try to explain it all to me. I have read a bunch, and youtubed-ed a lot to try to understand what my next step should be. Also the newbie discussion here on the forum has been helpful. Going for the Ego type next, I guess......but not gonna light a cig, that's for sure!

Question: The nic level on my cigalike was 24mg. This juice is 20mg nic. Do I ingest a lot more nic with the protank, if I am vaping about the same amount of time? Sorta feels like it.....

Shoot....maybe that is why it fell apart. I did ask about returning malfunctioning things, and they said all sales final after they set it up for up in the store and you try it. Live and learn I guess.

Yup, that's how I feel (after only owning the system for 7 hours!), and why I asked. Sigh.....more living and learning! And I REALLY did watch a million vids and read a million posts and webpages before I started all this. Sigh....

Hi Liz, and welcome to the porch! We've all been at the stage you're in right now. Just remember that the mistakes or problems you're having are all part of the learning process. Vaping is a journey and the landscape keeps changing so it helps to be flexible. We all keep learning. Yep, the videos are a great help. Most people need to start with higher nic and then drop it down over time. It helps to keep some higher as well as lower nic on hand. That way if you find you're chain vaping, just use the higher nic for a bit and it'll pass. It helps to have a few devices so you don't get caught with one unworkable one with nothing to fall back on.

Hello All. I'm so far behind in here that I don't think I can catch up. Welcome newcomers. I'm way behind with that and I apologize.

I got in early Thursday morning and didn't hit the bed until 8 am, so Thursday was pretty much a wasted day.

Yesterday I went in and found out the people had been trying to reach me all week to set up a time to discuss the results of my MRI. They didn't have my cell, so I never got the message. Anyway, we'll sit down Tuesday and discuss everything, and I'll get to see the MRI and talk about treatment options. The basics, at the moment, are that I have some bulging discs in my neck. That's nothing new. They just got worse is all, and they're pressing on nerves. However, there is a new twist that I have to get with my primary physician about. There is a nodule (whatever the hell that is) on my thyroid. Right now I'm just in a blissful state of "don't give a damn".

I am in a state of horror over what happened in Paris. I can't say that I'm surprised. I'm just waiting for it to get over here. It's just a matter of time. With the administration that we have, I don't see them doing much. I could go on a rampage about that, but I won't. I do know that I'm sorely tempted to go "conceal and carry".

With your schedule, you deserve your first day home to be one of rest.

I'm really hoping that the news on Tues is good and there is some simple treatment options that will work for you. And a lot of people nodules on their thyroid that's not a big deal. Still, it needs to be checked out to make sure. You can't do anything about either problem until you have some facts and a plan so a "don't give a damn" attitude is probably the best thing right now.

I totally agree with you about the horror in France, and elsewhere for that matter.

I forgot who mentioned that aliens would probably pass our planet by - I've been saying that for years! Humans just can't seem to be grateful for all our blessings. We really haven't evolved as much as we think we have. Too many seem to wallow in greed and the desire for power so we will never get past the condition of war.

Legs, wish I'd been there at the barber shop. Could have been a disaster, but since it wasn't I got a good chuckle out of it. Just glad it wasn't me!

Cathy, Yay Geordi!! Good boy!! What a treat to know you've helped another person to get off the cigs!

Bells, those flights are amazing. Don't think I'd ever be able to maneuver a drone as well as you can. Imagine what these things are going to be like a few years from now.

It's been a pretty busy couple of days here so it took all morning to catch up. Hope I didn't forget anybody. Now to get back to my "to do" list. One chore on the list to to evaluate how much nic we've got buried in the freezer. I think we're in pretty good shape, but want to get a good handle on supplies for a good long time. Definitely going to get in some PG/VG and flavors.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Glad you're OK. Be careful man! Not as young as we used to be! :w00t:
Tell me about it. A little sore today but not bad. It was kind of funny I was BSing with another guy while this gal was cutting my hair, and I was telling him how well these legs worked. He's headed toward amputation also, has braces on both legs. It was a smooth move my legs were twisted up and everyone just sort of looked at me waiting for me to get up, not going to happen from that position with nothing to grab, about 5 barbers in there and the guy with the braces and the lady barber were the only ones to finally figure out I couldn't get up on my own and helped me. Kinda embarrassing laying on the floor floundering around like a fish plus I'm so damned skinny no meat to break the fall. I gotta get in and get my legs adjusted, thats about the 3rd time lately I have caught my toe on something and I don't know it till its too late with no feeling in my feet.

Well my NiFe48 coil is still working really good. The last one I wrapped on my coilmaster so when I dry burned it it didn't get the oxidation between the coils. I'm up to 390F will keep you informed. If this one works like everyone says all I have to do is dry burn it brush off the gunk and put a new wick in just like Kanthal. The iron part of it causes it to take a little more power to heat it up but really so far not bad at all.

On rude inconsiderate smokers.
While wife unit was in hospital I vaped at the smoking zone. The hospital was kind enough to put a few smokers .... hoppers out there. And kind enough to waive the rules for the smokers. Even though smoking is actually prohibited on the entire hospital campus they do not hassle the smokers there.
However most of the smokers just throw their butts down instead of taking 6 steps to put them in a hopper.
Too many just plain trashy folks out there who will screw up anything for everyone else.

The fine for littering is up to $500 they need a plain clothes cop there with a body cam to record and issue littering tickets. Punish the guilty not everyone for the idiots actions.

What gets me are the ones who look at me vaping and say "those things are going to kill you, they are gonna be outlawed soon"

Gonna bust this up into a couple of posts, after 8 or 9 pages to catch up on, there's too much to comment on for one post, even for me  Some things I'd love to comment on, but won't, hopin it'll die down so Myrany feels comfortable coming back to the BP.

Ohh one other thing they told me they day before the transfer to rehab that my wife would be transported by ambulance to rehab. So I drove my little beater Toyota pickup to the hospital the next day (yesterday). They then told us that I would have to transport her! Had I known I would have taken the Town Car for her comfort. Just a mess of a hospital if not sick when you get there you soon will be.
there's no excuse for that! they oughta be horsewhipped!

Praying and hoping for the best. Janet is right, often nodules mean nothing. Right now likely the best attitude to have, just hate that you're feeling depressed. Seems like you have been for quite awhile. But you've also been under a ton of stress, and that'll do it. Hugssssssssssss

, didn't sleep a wink last night
Glad you finally did get some sleep, but sorry your knees are having to deal with the cold. When y'all movin?

I'm about to start the same process for my back d neck, Roto. I'm not going to be able to make it to Florida I don't think. I.m not going to plan on it. I have to get these things taken care of before they get worse. Coupled with the RA it's not good. RA I can deal with. But my back is what keeps me from walking right, d I know it.s causing wear where there shouldn't be any.
Really glad you're getting it seen to, and praying that they'll be able to fix it! that's definitely top priority, but not givin up hope yet that you'll be able to come to Fl. :)

If there is other intelligent life out there and they have observed us why would they want to contact us?
I've said this many times to my nephew.

Good news no major damage just skinned up my arm but definately livened things up in there.
so glad you're ok. Jup definitely need something adjusted if you keep hooking it.
