I don't think anything got damaged here, a lot of others around us did. We thought for sure some of our trees were going to go but didn't. I'm glad no one passed on.
I passed gas, does that count?

Put one in next door, at MIL's, a few years back. While you probably don't need to be concerned about snow and ice, plywood can get pretty slippery when just wet. I covered hers with roofing shingles. Great traction. Not too spendy.
Great Idea I got some non slip porch paint but the shingles idea is a good one or some roll roofing which I think I can still get.

I'd like to take credit for it :)

Was in Home Depot looking at indoor/outdoor carpet for the ramp, and the area staffer asked if she could help. Expalined what I was looking for, and her first response was "how about shingles?" Thought it was a great idea, too, and had a couple bundles left over from a small repair job.

Just got back from a #$*^&$% colonoscopy. All clear on the western, er, southern front.

One case where we neither need nor WANT pics!

IT HAPPENED! WE BELIEVE YOU!!! :w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:

A heartfelt Congratulations on the All Clear .. people pay good money these days for a colon flush, and you got a two fer .. ;) ..

I'm thinking Jeff Foxworthy needs to add a new bit to his routine "You know you're old when your crew congratulates you on "passing" a colonoscopy ..

Back from the doc. Still cancer free. Great news but, I kind of knew. Wasn't worried at all. Thanks for the prayers though, can never hurt.
Sorry, I should have congratulated earlier. These are the results we all hope to hear about.

On the subject of wheelchair ramps. When My brother in law built ours he made a mistake that might be worth avoiding.

He built one from inside the house down to the porch. The porch however is short enough that if you do not control speed going down that ramp well enough you will keep going straight off the end of it instead of making the turn to go tot he other end where the other ramp is. It would have been far better to have one LONG ramp straight down from the doorway to the parking area. Particularly if the person in the chair wishes for a bit of independence getting in and out of the house (or in case of emergency and they need to get out without help).

Also make sure there is a ramp on the back door too. 2nd avenue of escape in case of fire or other emergency.
Very good points, as an old volunteer firefighter, these are ideas I love to hear people considering.

When my dad died we had him cremated. I took care of everything including the bill as I was the only one of six that could afford it. I told the funeral director that "the next time Leroy went by the grave site just dig a quick hole with a post hole digger and drop him on in." He failed to see the humor in it too. After all was said and done it cost me about a grand with cremation and the hole. I also told the funeral director that he really needed to pull the stick outta his azz and grow a sense of humor. He didn't care for that comment either.[/QUOT

Wow we had the worst wind storm ever for here yesterday. Just got our power back still 153000 people without power. Ours was only out for 16 hours. Not sure how many people go hurt or killed not many I think.

WoW Pat!! I'm glad you came thru it unscathed! And hope you didn't lose any frozen groceries! And hope you already had fresh batteries:D
