I like that house with the pool!
Funny you should mention that. Until today's flight showed it, I didn't even know they had a pool! There are 9 lots here, and only two have homes that were constructed on site. That's one of them. He built it himself.... good builder. He also built the other one, did a real nice job on that one too.

I just finished up after roasting 10 pounds of pork spare ribs. I feel accomplished. About half a pound in my tummy, 1 pound in the fridge and the rest in the freezer.

if you put them in inside out, you'd know immediately, you wouldn't be able to see. Likely the same for the wrong eyes unless your eyes are the same. If it's gritty, they may just need a good cleaning, particularly if they're the extended wear that you leave in all the time, or maybe ya just need some re-wetting drops. Sometimes, allergies will cause that feeling too. But how kewl! Been a long time since I've worn contacts, and I really miss them! Hate glasses!!
I've been wearing glasses for 35 years. I have that dry eye stuff they talk about in the Restasis commercial so I can't wear contacts. My first pair were BCGs (Navy Birth Control Glasses) when I was around 19 or 20. Doree kept complaining that I was hugging the edge of the road, of course I didn't see anything wrong. Finally convinced me to go to the eye doc and low and behold, I was blind in one eye and couldn't see outta de other!

Poor child! :( I just covered my windows with styrofoam insulation. All I have left is a 2x5 peep-hole covered with plexiglass.
I have an eye-muscle imbalance and astigmatism. The best solution for ageing eyes is one with correction for close vision, and one with correction for far vision. However, that discourages my eyes from working together. Eye Dr. nixes that.
I wear no line bifocals. I like them a lot because just move your sweet spot up and down and you can find a spot where anything is in focus. Went whole hog and got the auto darkening, no scratch, no glare kind on no break (which have broken 3 times) frames. I had a special pair for wearing just when I was woking at the computer but, of course, since I didn't wear them all the time I promptly lost them.:nah:

Aww Mary! That has to be like a cave. Our blood is so thin from our usual warm to HOT climate that it doesn't take much to feel like we are freezing. We are in a corner unit with 2 walls facing northish & nothing to block the wind, & the big glass patio door just makes it worse. We turn into big sissies when "winter" arrives. Which is anything below 73. [emoji51]
We have a sliding patio door up here in Virginia as well. Always have a nice heavy pair of drapes for the wintertime. Helps a lot. Having better quality doors would be even better but, dem tings are spensive!

And boil the carcass to make the stock for it. ;)

Edit: Let me know if anyone is interested and I will write down how I make gumbo when I do it Friday.
Please, that would be great. I might trade you a pecan pie recipe as long as Doree doesn't find out! :-x She's very protective of her one and only "family" recipe.

Been there, done that. I wish we could use our fireplace but Mom has enough trouble with COPD. She spent one winter with her sister & I closed off all the rooms d cranked up the fireplace. It was wonderful! If I have to put up with winter I want a fireplace available!
We have gas logs, I call them lazy logs. Made sure we got a top o the line set. They look like real and about every 5 years I replace all the glowing ember stuff underneath them. I like a real fire for the smell but the advantages of gas just outweigh the disadvantages. Especially the no ashes and no chopping part!

Damn Matt, falling scares the hell out of me too especially after the one I broke my shoulder and hip. I think we get complacent sometimes and then something happens. It scares me cause I have to go up and down 8 stairs to get to the bathroom and I know if I fell coming down it would probably really screw me up let alone how hard it would make my wifes life. I'm so skinny my bones are right under my skin. When I fell at the Barber shop I had to lay there and try to figure out if I was hurt or not. Don't do that anymore Buddy.
i promise I will try real hard not to!

Anti-social was a prerequisite for land ownership out here. That family is certainly no worse than any of us. He put on my new roof and quality skylights a couple a few years ago... excellent price and excellent work.

I was never able to wear soft lens because my eyes were too dry. Turns out dry eye is a symptom of RA. I always wore hard lenses. Loved the Monovision lenses. I had to stop wearing them at all. The dry eye got too bad.

I have monovision lenses (the soft ones)...they're great! Don't have to wear reading glasses anymore. Having dry eyes, my eye Dr. told me to start taking fish oil...no more dry eyes!

And boil the carcass to make the stock for it. ;)

Yes, please and thank you!!!!

Venting. Found out at 7:30 tonight that the family Thanksgiving was today at my sister's. She told Mom, who promptly forgot, & neither of them had told me. All I was told was to bring the broccoli & rice casserole & Mom was to bring 2 pies. I, of course, assumed Thanksgiving Day. Making it worse is that one of her stepdaughter's invited a friend with 2 small children. So glad she was included. We were sent leftovers which we will microwave & eat on Thursday.
So, not happy with the sister now for waiting till 7:30 to see why we weren't there.

This just breaks my heart! So sorry you were treated this way. I hope you enjoy a nice peaceful Thanksgiving! {{{HUGS}}}

All the old Jewish ladies down in Lauderdale are at the fur cold storage place picking up the minks cause it's supposed to be below 70 tonight!
I always thought that hilarious when I lived in Tampa. It was a real thing. it would get down near freezing for a few hours and you would see people in fur coats.
I guess relocated northerners looking for an excuse to wear their furs?
