Jeez my grandaughter is married to an Air Force guy stationed in El Paso. This is her first Thanksgiving that she is going to be in their house. She is having 20 people over, some of there married friends and a bunch of guys from the base that have no families there. She said she is probably going to be calling my wife all day on cooking tips. 2 turkeys and a ham. Ought to be quite a get together. I talked to Jacob her husband last night and he says it's bring your own case as in beer. A Captain there got transfered and he rented them the house which is really big for just what his housing allowance is so it is a big event for them. Beautiful home and lots of people. She is tired already she works plus putting this altogether. Good luck Alyssa. She is like our daughter since we had custody of her since she was 6 months old all the way through college.

I used to do that when my (now)ex was in the Air force. It is tiring but so satisfying to know all those guys have a place to go on the holidays. Good on them for doing that!

The thought of that SX kept me up half the night Thank You Mike. I saw a shot of the software for the new ML which is really no more then my M does except it has 6 presets for different wire. Vapor Kings who has the SX for $100 including shipping is saying they are in Arkansas and they are not allowed to ship to anyone in Arkansas because of some bill that passed there. I never even heard of that. I'm kind of leary of ordering one.

Hi all, just a quick note to let ya'll know I made it safely to my Son's. I will get caught up on the posting later. Except for Dallas, it was a smooth drive. Of course I hit the Woodlands at peak traffic and crawled the last 10 miles. Family time calls.
Glad you made it safely, enjoy your family, & Thanksgiving.

Yes, indeed! Her and Jacob will create life long fond memories tomorrow.

Still 1000's without power here. Till after Thanksgiving.

Good grief, it's been quite a while since the outage!

"You know why you have so many unfinished projects, Dave? It's because you feel like the powers-that-be could not possibly allow you to die when you have so much left to do. It's your way of trying to insure against dying."

I found that to be a rather profound insight.

And perhaps a grain of truth? It often seems that, when folk "retire" and don't find things to do, they fade out fast. Staying active and engaged with life helps maintain life.

Wow! Are you in your motor home...with a generator?
No our power was only out for 20hrs. It's in town they are having all the problems. People on one side of the street never lost power and the other side still hasn't gotten it back. It's crazy.

Yep they have called crews in from San Francisco and places in Canada. There was about 250 big trees down in town. It's crazy plus we aren't supposed to get above freezing for a week. Thats part of the problem they couldn't call crews jn from this state cause they are working on their own problems.

Feeling pretty melancholy right about now.
((((((((((Debra))))))))) I hope they DO put out a nice spread for y'all, and that you have a rip roaring great time with the guys!!! Put on some music, grab a few to dance with, and make some fun!! well, couldn't find it on youtube, but there is a scene from the movie "Always" where Holly Hunter is the only woman among a lot of men who fly fire fighting air tankers. They all take turns dancing with her, passing her from one to another!!

Glad you let us know!! Maybe taking the Fort Worth side on the way back up would be better than the Dallas side. Unless I'm going TO Dallas, I most always take the Ft Worth side of the split, so much nicer. Just make sure you potty before you get to the split!

i've just been told i deserve the "c" word.
Chocolate????? You can't have much of that, better send it to me!!

Awwwwww how nice, as Iffy said, they'll make many wonderful memories tomorrow!! That's a lot to take on, but your wife is just a phone call away, I'm sure she'll do great! Y'all have much to be proud of in her! She was raised well!!

Lemme know when it's safe to come out!!
And guess what!! Love ya back!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! Find something to be thankful for, even for those dealing with major problems, there are things to be thankful for, and giving thanks for those things is liable to raise your spirits!
