Now explain this:
With consumer prices down over the past year, monthly Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for nearly 65 million Americans will not automatically increase in 2016.
I just go a notice that my wifes COBRA is being increased 3% From $1053 to $1108 per month. But prices are down.

Until the Fed raises the interest from 0 (zero) there is no consumer price index ergo no SSA raise. Chaps me big time. Especially when the Millennials start whining about entitlement programs. Who really cares what they think?

Just got a call from Vixen Vapors. They oversold the blemished Provari 2.5s and can only ship 6 of the 8 that I ordered last night. Good! Less of them for me to get rid of! They got the first 3 in the mail today.

$25 each on those .. ?? (yes, I actually took the time to look) .. heck, I might have even bought a few for that kinda money .. .. after something like this gets noticed and the one noticing it gets their order in, it would be great to get a tip off .. just sayin' .. :)

The only problem with a Cavalier is the cost. Those babies are EXPENSIVE from a reputable breeder. And some lines have heart problems, especially from a casual breeder.
good to know. Hadn't checked on pricing yet. They got Frankie from a shelter, and love the idea of rescuing shelter dogs, but he was debating last night about the pros/cons of maybe going to a good breeder, vs a shelter dog and seeing what they have. That'll narrow the decisions if they go that route again.

There is always a Consumer Price Index. It is not tied to interest rates, but rather to the cost of various goods. Different entities use different formulas for computing the increase, if any, in payments related to the CPI.

And rent goes up regardless, & groceries don't come down even ewhen the excuse for raising food prices is the price of gas.

My question is for anyone who has HD DirecTv: does your system need to "update content" at least once a day? It's a little bit of a PITA. Frequently, I'm selecting "do it later, not now".

Sorry Dave, can't help wid your HD DTv, but my local Verizon FIOS will automatically 'do their thing' when they want. Only been pizzed twice... recorded blanks...

I did not know Ms Callender had a restaurant chain .. and it's probably a good thing .. ;)

MC's frozen pies, cakes and some meals are simply awesome. Alas, didn't know it was a chain restaurant. Maybe a good thing in light of da info here. Nonetheless, I do bring Marie home wid me occasionally wid Patty's blessing...

Jack Russel...

... I think they need a firm hand in training, but will check on that.

JRs will quickly determine who is da more intelligent/dominate, him/her or da owner! Unfortunately, in my experiences/exposure to 'em is dat da JR normally gets da upper paw.

...but it certainly is a bonus .. :)

Ah ha, a new national franchise possibility... 'Rent-A-Rodent-Repellant'. Non-canine option, a badger (not a lap pet).

Deba,

Seriously, in light of your 'target' size et al, IMHO, I would suggest several trips to 'rescue shelters' and go wid your and your family's gut feelings. Also put out a 'wanted' request to your local veterinarians with your 'wish list'.

Knowing your personality and situation, I'm confident dat you will absolutely know when da right possible family companion will capture your hearts!

BTW, I ever so much want another phour legged phurry phamily phriend! But I'll wait 'til Phate says 'NOW"...

Now explain this:...

Lower fuel prices have partially offset da subsidies fer ethanol in da face of higher food prices fer corn-fed food products! Phollow da phund$... ALWAY$!

Keep in mind dat da lobbyists still have to be paid by da supporters/political contributors...

I get that too and do just like you. I tell it to do it later. It used to happen in the middle of the night but they seem to do it in the middle of the day these days. Haven't seen it during prime time but, seems like an other time is fair game.

Calling all dog lovers. My son and dil are considering getting another dog. One reason is so Frankie will have someone to play with, and now that I'm here, they won't be left alone when they're at work. Need some suggestions for breeds to look at that would be compatible.

Frankie is part west highland white terrier, and part either chinese crested or deer chihuahua best as we can tell. He has a ton of energy, but sleeps most of the day I think cuz he's bored. But take him outside on a leash, and he nearly chokes himself trying to run and gets way over excited.

Requirements:
20 is pounds or so. Don't want one much if any bigger than Frankie, cuz the yard just isn't big enough for a large dog to run in. 2 small dogs can chase each other around out there.

Not super high energy, but enough that they will run and play with him.

Low maintenance as far as grooming, but prefer they not shed a whole lot. and of course, the fewer potential health issues the better.

Fairly easy to train. My son and I will invest time in training and be consistent, by gd and dil won't.

Not a nervous yappy dog. lol So chihuahuas are out.

I know toy poodles fit well into these categories, but wanted some other suggestions.
My min pin is pretty energetic and really jealous so might not be a good choice unless you get it as a puppy. Loyal to a fault.

I really do try and stay within the dietary constraints imposed on the "You Must Eat Healthy" crew .. however, beginning on Thanksgiving Day, when a small crowd of women forced delicacies upon me, then, getting a Jones for eggnog, which mistakenly (right .. ;)) I bought the full version of, and what eggnog would be complete without my old friend .. ?? And, as I was at the Kroger, this Marie Callender deep dish apple pie with streusel topping kept calling and winking at me, along with her friend, Ms Cool Whip .. so, I took them home as well, thusly, polishing off a third of the pie that day and half the eggnog ..

Then, yesterday, in order to put the "icing on the cake", I broke a Cardinal rule and took out Taco Bell ..

Sigh .. .. the Holidays .. what can you do .. ?? :) .. and yes, it looked just like the picture ..

Having spent the better part of the morning removing the "Sale" emails from my inbox ;) .. I tried to pump more petrol in the trucks tank, but could only squeeze in a few more gallons .. at $1.78 per, I am very much tempted to look into a storage tank for the backyard ;) .. it's like getting a raise .. one 20 gallon tank on the truck and one 10 gallon .. $53 and change if bone dry now .. flash back 2008 .. $4.10 per / $123.00 if bone dry ..
Love those Mrs. Calendars pipes. She makes a good one! Nothing like that particular pie warm with vanilla bean ice cream.

Another option is to check rescue groups. All purebred breeds have a rescue organization. Yes there can be "baggage", but there can also be baggage with shelter dogs. Sometimes an older (1 yr or so?) is an option. I agree with iffy, check your local shelters and go with your heart. If the right one is there, you will know. Might not be the first visit, but if it was meant to be you will know.

MC lasagna, & pot pies are really good. We pick those up every month for the numerous times neither of us is up to cooking.

I need to borrow someones large doghouse for the hubby to live in for a few days. :p

I am doing laundry today and he hands me a pair of pants and says "Can You stick those in with the darks?" SO I ask "did you check the pockets?" He says "Yes." so I toss them in the washer and then the dryer.

I now have a dryer complete coated in Blue ink from an exploded ink pen and am trying like hell to clean it WHILE cooking supper.

One very growly purple cat here.

Note guys if you didn't check the pockets TELL US and we will do it.

Trust me the 2 bucks I found is not near enough for cleaning up this mess.

I think not checking pockets is a guy thing.

Edit: I thought he would learned after his Thumb drive for work got washed a few weeks ago.
