I am a bit amazed, yet overjoyed, that some have heard of and listen to Nanci Griffith .. :) .. which means you must also know of The Kennedys .. :) .. her take on "From a Distance" is one of my favorites ..

Jackpot!!!! I must have listened to that one about a zillion times...

My hearing aids are fuschia for a reason.

I doubt that helps. It may make people shout but it doesn't stop them from mumbling in a loud voice. I note that people are harder to understand if they are shouting or angry.

Glad you brought up the subject since I had a question here on Liberty hearing aids. I finally sprung for one, and so far, so good. It is almost perfect as regards noise control. It isn't so good with regard to clarity, but I don't think it's any worse than the GN Resound I've been using. Might even be marginally better. Of course they are all dependent on the person who programs them, and the lady at our Sam's Club was conscientious and competent. Also, Sam might be into mass merchandising, but he's got pretty good testing equipment and protocol. Yeah, I know everybody is down on Sam's and
Walmart, but it either works or it doesn't.

Well, I did it again. Took a tumble going into CVS to pick up my pain meds. If I hadn't rolled with it I would definitely broken something. As it is I'm all bruised up. Tripped on the curb and splayed out on the sidewalk in front of the door. The bus from the nursing home had just pulled up and if it wasn't for the driver and one of the old men I might still be laying there. Hit my right knee, left foot, left palm, right side of right hand and my right elbow. Little sore but, I've got 2 motrin and one of my pain pill kickers in me. Odds, are I'm going to be sore as hell tomorrow. Oh and my right hip. I rolled with it like they taught me in SEER school cept then I was 20 and now I'm 58 with really bad osteoarthritis. Oops! :(

Ouch !

I have had Siemens, ReSound, and now I have Starkey. Always went to a clinic. VERY interested in advice on how to slow down the loss. Here is a good place to get your questions answered. Hearing Aid Forums | Hearing Loss | Hearing Aids

I just write off bad communicators once they know, as being passive aggressive or ignorant.

You know you're getting old when you have to wait for traffic to clear to walk across over in a parking lot...

Speakin' of...

Today witnessed a lady, who got so impatient waiting for a parking slot (third car back), back into and knock down a Matt-alike with walkin' cane because she didn't want to wait in line!

I begged him to lay still and wait for EMS in that I saw the back of his head hit the pavement. Noper, he struggled to his feet and wobbled off (did I say Matt-like?)

When the lady was re-entering her SUV, I ask if her impatience saved her any time. No response. But she did get my parking space when I exited... <sigh>

Man at the VA lab today they had this poor old guy trying to get blood out of him. His hat said WWII veteran. They finally got a vein and got some blood but the girl came back to him and said they needed a full vile and it was only half so they had to stick him again. He never talked just sat in his wheelchair shaking. I didn't know if the poor guy was going to make it or not. They finally got enough. Man his hat said 41-46 so if he was 18 in 41 born in 23 so he was 91 damn.

$25 each on those .. ?? (yes, I actually took the time to look) .. heck, I might have even bought a few for that kinda money .. .. after something like this gets noticed and the one noticing it gets their order in, it would be great to get a tip off .. just sayin' .. :)

Wow! I'm really impressed! Your dog can snooze upside down! And he's growing a human foot!!

Love those Mrs. Calendars pipes. She makes a good one! Nothing like that particular pie warm with vanilla bean ice cream.

Auto correct strikes again!!

i'm doing (my own) laundry right now

never even occurred to me to check the pockets

last week's laundry turned up a lot of fun items. it was like "found money"

:)

My rule was any money found while I was doing laundry was mine. And all clothes that went into the laundry inside out got folded and handed back inside out. (exception for small silky things-they always turn inside out and pillow cases. How does a pillow case turn itself inside out?)

I finally got some great pics of Geordi. Here is at 7 1/2 months (8 months old now), Bijou Luisant Kontinuing Mission

Awwww, they are so cute! A shopkeeper in town had a Cotton in his shop. First time we'd ever seen one. She was SO soft and so friendly! He said they have very nice dispositions.

Ginny came through it like a trooper. They even had a recliner for me to sit in. It's a Cancer clinic chemotherapy place lots of recliners. Now I think I'm too tired to wrap a coil. Might just put a head in my Kanger.
That's like the Infusion & Research rooms at my RA Dr where I go for the Rituxan infusions. Recliners everywhere! And some that stand you up, too! It's how I envision the Porches.
Glad Ginny you both did well. Drs visits are stressful enough without glitches.

Yeah. They're bred to be companions. Period.

Can I get that in Cajunese, please .. ?? :) .. it's been so long since you spoke Cajun for me .. and you never call or write .. ;)

I can't say it in Cajunese. I can tell you that I was doing breathing and mental relaxation to keep from voicing my displeasure in Cajun French OR English for that matter. :D

Y'all are getting some posts in on the contest threads aren't you ??
I am, but no luck so far... Can't chat all day like some do. But several good friends have won, so that makes me happy. And DingerCPA and I were going back and forth for the 10,000 post - she got it! Whoo hoo! Don't know if it won her anything, but it was fun!

Legs, so glad Ginny came through so well and I hope all your tests come out well.

Roto, same for you. PITA when they run you through hoops, but sounds like you got it down. Now to hope and pray they can fix you up.

Thanks for all the compliments on Geordi. He sure is growing up nice. Tonight in class he even stood for the exam! He is coming along very well.
