Are you using your cell phone for access? I did that last a few times while we were down here then finally said the heck with it and finally got cable Internet. The connection down here is the fastest I have ever seen. Almost 100Mbps. Consistently tests out at 90+ Mbps. Love it. Everything just clicks. Movies never buffer. Of course I've never had FIOS (Fiber optic) so I can't speak how fast that is. The Cable Guy is coming Thursday to hook up the TV. Might as well. We were going to move the DirectTV down here but, with all the wind and rain we figured cable would be more reliable.
We have cable internet and a very HIGH badwidth limit. Something just spiked and blew through it on three days in Nov. We are trying to sort out what did it.

Things like Netflix in can burn through bandwidth quick - about 3gb per hour in HD and about 1gb per hour in SD.

Must be "Older Generation Patting Themselves On The Back And Saying They Were Better Than Today's Youth Day" again.

Seems to me an everyday occurrence here. Yes, I think it's delusional and I do get weary of it. I don't believe we are, or ever were, better than today's youth. Different, yes, better, no. The funny thing is, when today's kids get as old as we are now, they will have the same distorted view of the younger generations. It's always been the worldwide pastime of the older generations to discount the younger ones. Such negativity! I'm apparently immune but can't enjoy and have no reason to participate.

Just my two-bit rant on the subject again. One thing for sure, I don't rant about it nearly as often as the youth-bashing takes place here. I have no idea whether my rant accomplishes anything, but the griping about the young definitely does not. Carry on.

Heck, as far as sirens go, I can hear in both and have to scan around too. Never can tell where they are.
I HATE!!! when you hear a siren then realize it is just a commercial on the radio. I wish they wouldn't do that! Makes me jump every time.

Hubby taught Spock to bark at livestock as we drove by. When driving home from training class or something at night and he would see a cow or a horse, Bark Bark Bark! Made me jump! I said "don't teach any other dog to do that!!" Beware what you train, it might bite you in the behind....

I wasn't aware that cable Internet had limits until I read an article the other day that says unlimited data on Comcast/XFinity is actually limited to 300Gb a month. Not unlimited but a lot of data still. I wonder what could have possibly eaten that much data in three days. Of course, your asking the same thing I'm sure. Good luck on finding out. I have generally found cable companies as a rule to be generally unhelpful.

That wasn't an even remotely humorous thing for him to do... you're a good woman for keeping him despite that foolishness.

Bells, ranting about anything in the Internet is called "Brown Suit Syndrome" cause it's like ...... your pants in a brown suit. Gives you a warm feeling but, nobody notices.

I was just looking at facebook, and had a thought.
sometimes, you either need to add a word, or subtract a word before you cut off a sentence.

I am another in the hearing problems end of thing. Though mine is basically not correctable with a hearing aid and since it is only on one side I just live with it rather than take a shot a an implant. Hearing is fine on the other side. Mine is from an injury.

As for rude people knocking people down. Right after Katrina we got swamped by refugees from farther south. I didn't have a washer back then so I was in a washeteria. I had put my clothes in and started the machine and bent down to grab the liquid soap ( put it in after water is in the machine). Some woman twice my size just knocked me flat on my keester, took my wet clothes out of the washer(dumping them on the floor) and put hers in the washer to use the cycle I had paid for. Then she yelled at me "I am a Katrina refugee deal with it _____. " I um called the cops. ;)
Good for you! Houston was a victim of Katrina victims, too. Although most behaved a little better. It was bad all around, even for those trying to help the ones behaving like that. What's amazing there are still some here that never went back or moved on, still crying Katrina victim.

We don't use netflix. He is wondering if the apple TV didn't shut off streaming radio when he told it to on those 3 days. No clue so we are watching it in hopes of figuring it out should it spike again.

On other news Hubby driven to work, gas in the car, enough groceries to get us through Christmas Festival Weekend so we don't have to poke our noses outside until monday. Looking at the last load of laundry and thinking, heck with it do it tomorrow I am pooped.

For those of you that don't know the First Weekend in December is this enormous Christmas Festival here and this town goes from 15k people to near 150k people at times. Locals that have no reason to go to it tend to hide. If you have ever seen the movie steel magnolias it was filmed here. The festival in the movie is the real deal. ;)

I was a big stuperman fan.

Since I just can't seem to remember him, I'm guessing his Super Powers included : "I'm more stupid than anyone .." .. "Won First Place in the Stupid Contest .. " .. his motto is "Stupid Is As Stupid Does .. " .. came from the Planet Stupider .. wears a costume with a large question mark on the chest .. can flunk a test at the speed of light .. his Family includes Stuperwoman, Stupergirl, Stuperboy .. hung out with Scooby and Shaggy in his youth but they ended up unfriending because he ate too many Scooby Snacks .. ;)

Oh, and I was wondering if there was a film coming out any time soon .. ;)

If you read down that article, same thing with hulu and others. Don't use any of them but prolly a good idea to log out and change your password.
Prolly out of touch here but I don't grok any of that stuff. I know netflix creates shows but generally with cable or satellite you can watch anything they broadcast anytime with video on demand. Free. (Albeit "some" movies are pay here) And there's usually 90000 music channels as well.
