Yepper ... I like what's said there ... who ever said it. If my Mom was any more Catholic she'd have been a Nun and I wouldn't be here. OTOH my Dad never stepped into a church except for weddings and funerals. He was one of the best men I knew and I do not believe he's spending eternity in h3ll, which I was taught in my Catholic upbringing.

i SO agree with both yours and yiddles posts! I rarely state my philosophy on such things cuz i will NOT get into any debates about religion versus sprirituality.

It's a German cake called Dobas Torte. The recipe has been passed down from my Grandmother on my Mother's side. It's a multi layer cake usually 10-12 layers, sandwiched between thin layers of butter-cream icing. The outside is the same icing but w/ more chocolate/cocao in the mix to make it darker. Then pour melted sugar on top which hardens to a caramelized topping.

It has zero calories because it's a special holiday cake.

It looks Diiiiiiiiviiine !!!!

Why I like doughnut holes. Since they are a hole they cannot contain calories right?

OK, think I'll take a nap now! Got worn out just lookin'.

Off with our heads...

BTW, said member has basically shoved your opinion up your lower portal!

Although Willie and many others may not have directly confronted/challenged you here, I would suggest that you're quite familiar with that family situation and haven't gotten over it. Your vulnerability is all too obvious to the porch majority; not that it matters to you. BUT, it does revel your self-staunch inflexibility and major lack of of any humor other than your own.

And obviously neither do you (see Classy's post)!

Oh my, a self imposed porch martyr! Shame??? Don't think you have any idea...

Goodness, you really must be special. Either that or they finally got tired of your self-pontification. Fortunately, our porches are mostly comprised of loving, down-to-earth and tolerant individuals that come here for enjoyment and camaraderie, not judgement by a self appointed 'god' (gasp...)!

Damnit, sure fooled most of us (OK, I predict that's permission fer ya to rant on)...

Dave,

We do truly appreciate your genial contributions and generosity on da porches. But, why do you need to talk/post down to our fellow porchers and generate controversy?

And I don't like vinegar!!!

Thank you!

And thank you, Gary!
Hear, hear!

And tastes better. When my daughter was little she nicked named it "The Candy Cake". It was actually the 1st sweets our Son ever tasted. He was still an infant breast feeding and my Pop started to put some of the icing to his lips. My wife said "don't you dare". Pop did. She eventually forgave him, I think. ;)

Yep that is my MIL also. Goes to church funtions 3 times a week plus she is leaving half her estate to the Catholic Church as if they needed the little bit she has. But who knows maybe it works cause we all been praying for Ginnys sister who found out she had Stage 4 breast cancer, had to have both removed and she has been through all her Chemo and Radiation which almost killed her. She just heard back from her doctor and she had a body scan to see if it had travelled anywhere else and I'm not going to say it was or wasn't from all the prayers but she is completely clear of cancer.
