Just checking in. Home again for about 10 days. Geordi and Tasha were so glad to be home they zoomied around the yard. I used to have to throw a ball to get Tasha's zoomies out when we got home from trips, now Geordi takes care of it for me!
Matt, I am glad you MIL is OK and you arrived safely back. That timeshare sure sounds nice!

Lighters - I always had plenty. Since starting vaping, no more lighters. We had to buy some for working with paracord making show leads!! Go figure! I did find one at the bottom of my purse but it was so old it didn't work anymore.
Next trip will include a week of me (and the dogs) alone at the Doberman Pincer National Specialty. I will be hanging out! You will get to see Gman - he is getting big! Almost 6 months old. We will start showing soon (has to be 6 months old to show for his championship). He's all legs and ears....

I had a 5-pack of cheap plastic lighters.. gave them to my neighbor I think, couple years ago. Still have one or two around, used only to temper a couple pieces of Kanthal until I stopped heating any wire for any reason until I was using it for actual vaping. During a power outage used one as a flashlight to find a candle and then to light the candle.

Yes you did and it is so appreciated. I felt bad because he wanted me to spend the night. But he is well taken care of now and will need me more later.

Heehee, he did the same thing for supper. I imagine anything would taste 5 Star after not eating a bite for a week. They are moving him out of ICU tomorrow and from what everyone said today, he is doing really good for what he has been through. They said next something about their rehabilitation department at the same hospital. The part he understood about that was that I would be allowed to stay both night and day. heehee Oh gosh, I better rest up while I can. I'm just so glad he is still around for me to spoil rotten. I see several Blackberry Cobblers in his future. bahahahaha
Thank you again everyone for letting me share some of the stress I have been under. It has made it all so much easier for me to handle. I told him he "owed" me big and asked if he would fly with me in April and the stubborn cuss still shook his head. . .

Well, I just did a video of the work that my own personal Back Porch Design Team helped me accomplish the other night. Credit and huge thanks and compliments go to Deb, Amy, Sandra, Scott and Gracie and Johnny( and i hope i didn't forget anyone). And a special thanks to Matt and Doree who so generously gave me the huge macrame hanging which is the crowning glory of my living room. I feel so blessed to be a part of such an amazing, generous, loving group of people.

Looks like a piece of chicken, a pile of mayonnaise and what the heck is that green stuff? They say you "eat with your eyes first". Shhh, Don't tell him, but I think I'd starve.
May not look that great, but a hell of a lot better than tube feeding. Looks like swallowing is going to get better and better.
OMG, I can't believe what people go through! I read the last four pages or so and I hope his health improves. I came over here for a while to say hi and take off my shoes and get ready to sleep a good long time. I remember when my mom had her first stroke and had to learn to swallow again. That is so difficult. I am wishing you the best and you have been on my mind and my husband's, too. My husband is so glad I found this forum! Rat2chat2, take good care of yourself. My husband got really burnt out living at the hospital with me for 12 days. I had to send him away for a break because he would not admit how boring and uncomfortable it was getting for him -- and they brought in a nice little bed for him, but there is no place like your own bed to sleep in. That looks like a pile of over mashed potatoes with extra milk added and the green stuff ... ? WTH is that stuff? Mashed peas? Yeah, as a foodie with a weight problem, I'd lose my pound a week if I were served that!

It was greenbeans. I'm pretty sure that is why they leave the menu on the tray so you can tell your patient what it is. IMO corn would be a happier color. I was only tempted to take a bite of the peaches but I gave it all to him.

Ok! What's coming today? I picked up my last package for the month yesterday. Got more flavorings from the Labor Day sales. Whoop! I got one tobacco for my nephew. Had to put it in a ziplock within another ziplock, 'cause it REEKS!
