Dave, guess autumn has arrived in your neighborhood. Can't 'member if you ever listed your setup, if not, please do or provide a link.
It's a DJI Phantom 3 Standard, and I have a Nexus 7 II tablet jerry-rigged to the remote control. The holder on the remote control for the Phantom 3 Standard is not designed for 7" tablets, even though the software app is designed to work with the Nexus 7 II and other even larger tablets. The remote control for the more expensive Phantom 3 Advanced and Phantom 3 Professional quads has a different holder that accommodates the larger tablets.

Ask me to recommend a quad and I'd advise staying away from Phantoms, despite the fact that they're the only outdoor quads I've owned. Reason: customer service from DJI, the manufacturer, is non-existent. If I ever get another quad it's likely to be this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1160395-REG/yuneec_yunq4kpus_typhoon_q500_4k_rtf.html Customer service from Yuneec is excellent according to all reports.

Picture of my Phantom. I've learned to Sharpie my contact info and a reward notice on the shell.

It looks tiny, but I know it can't be that small since it has the camera on it.

All Phantom models, past and present, are 13.75" from rotor center to rotor center across the diagonal. Wanna see a tiny quadcopter? Look at my Proto X quad sitting on one of the arms of a Phantom.

I'm home if you want to do the Odyssey thing.

For all those ladies in the HO. I have pics ready. I still don't have my ottoman cushion yet. It's been a month. The manager said yesterday two or three more weeks. :-x I didn't want to wait that long, so I snapped pics after Greg got the wall hangings up. One is my view from the sofa and the other is facing to corner of the lanai we turned into an outdoor living room.

We're so proud of our new back porch! The one we tore down was heavy rotten wood with giant supporting beams everywhere that you had to walk around. The roof was plywood, shingled, sheet rocked with insulation, skylights and huge leaks and This one is aluminum with a Styrofoam core. We extended it past the master bedroom, but haven't decided what to do with the extra space.

I got some neutral density filters for my quadcopter camera lens. Thanks for the suggestion, DavidOck! It improves the video quite a bit, by eliminating glare from the sun.

Er, I suggested a polarizing filter :)

What the ND is doing is having a nice effect anyway, and may be all you need. Try flying closer to the water, if you can do so safely, and see how well you can see through the water, to the creek bed. If the ND cuts some of that glare, you're set!

I live out there, Janet. I have been known to fall asleep to the sound of crickets while reading, and not wake up until the morning birds are chirping.

Yeah, I know you suggested a polarizing filter but I wasn't able to find one by the time I ordered the ND filters. Now that I've found a place that makes a polarizing filter for my camera, I might not get one anyway 'cuz it's way more $$.

In order to get the camera close to the creek I have to get myself close to the creek. When I fly the quad from near my house, there are trees all around me that make me have to elevate in order to maintain communication between the RC and the quad. As you saw from my "down at the creek" video, I've got no margin for error if I walk down near the creek bank and try to fly low to the water. Tree canopy everywhere.

Ok. So now you need a chain saw.
Been thinking about it for a long time. Timber companies will do the work and even pay me for the privilege. Problem is they make a real mess outta things. Sooner or later, though, I'm going to have to cut down some trees on the west side of my house because they're on the verge of blocking the satellite signal.

Just get the satellite company to move their satellites orbit a bit.

Definitely outside-the-box thinking. Brilliant! Wait... maybe I could just nudge the satellites a tad with my drone.

What a loaTWO of frass! I missed the word in the video until you made me go back and actually read the article. :D BTW, who even reads anymore?
OK, this is from the front porch, but I didn't want to quote there. I usually read vice watch the videos on news networks, however, this morning I wanted to watch an article on foxnews.com. I started the video and there was a TWO-minute ad before the video! A TWO-minute ad for a 30-second news bite? Give me a break!
