Must be "Older Generation Patting Themselves On The Back And Saying They Were Better Than Today's Youth Day" again.

Seems to me an everyday occurrence here. Yes, I think it's delusional and I do get weary of it. I don't believe we are, or ever were, better than today's youth. Different, yes, better, no. The funny thing is, when today's kids get as old as we are now, they will have the same distorted view of the younger generations. It's always been the worldwide pastime of the older generations to discount the younger ones. Such negativity! I'm apparently immune but can't enjoy and have no reason to participate.

Just my two-bit rant on the subject again. One thing for sure, I don't rant about it nearly as often as the youth-bashing takes place here. I have no idea whether my rant accomplishes anything, but the griping about the young definitely does not. Carry on.
I must have missed that part, Bells. Who bashed anyone?

Good for you! Houston was a victim of Katrina victims, too. Although most behaved a little better. It was bad all around, even for those trying to help the ones behaving like that. What's amazing there are still some here that never went back or moved in, still crying Katrina victim.
It's been 10 years! Eventually, we all have to get on with our lives, no matter whatever trauma we've suffered.
Love Tracey Chapman!
Me too.
The festival in the movie is the real deal. ;)
Hide! Hide!

BTW, Good morning, Porchers!

If you read down that article, same thing with hulu and others. Don't use any of them but prolly a good idea to log out and change your password.
Prolly out of touch here but I don't grok any of that stuff. I know netflix creates shows but generally with cable or satellite you can watch anything they broadcast anytime with video on demand. Free. (Albeit "some" movies are pay here) And there's usually 90000 music channels as well.
Yeah we don't use any of them but I emailed the link to the hubby so he can check it later. Honestly I don't even use the apple tv. When he wired up the home theater system he wired so much crap in there that I have no clue what buttons I need to push to even watch a DvD. SO I just watch cable unless he is home LoL.

Myrany, I had heard that vape supplies could no longer be shipped into or out of Louisiana. Is that true? Have you had any problems?

The first place I heard it was on a website (don't remember which one) that said they could no longer ship to Louisiana because of the new law.

Don't you have a yard it can run it off in? Better than walking.
Yard is fenced, but not big enough for a large dog to run in. Two small dogs could chase each other around though. I've seen Frankie run, I know he can, but it sure takes something other than balls, toys, or laser lights to make it happen. lol He is super fast though when he takes a notion, and cuts on a dime!

Deb - gonna have to try the inside out pillow case trick. I just don't understand how they turn themselves inside out while being washed. I thought it was me, but I made sure they were right side out when they went in the washer and sure enough, one or 2 come out inside out. Weird.
I didn't describe it well, but so much easier than trying to get spandex on a marshmallow. And jup, it's always amazed me too as to why they turn inside out. Or in my case, right side out hehehe

Some woman twice my size just knocked me flat on my keester, took my wet clothes out of the washer(dumping them on the floor) and put hers in the washer to use the cycle I had paid for. Then she yelled at me "I am a Katrina refugee deal with it _____. " I um called the cops. ;)
so glad you called the cops! Glad they at least banned her, and made her pay for it. Very glad you weren't hurt.

Sorry if I misled y'all... She wasn't goin' anywhere while I was there!
When I read it and posted, I was seeing RED that someone would do that, later I calmed down and realized that there was no way you'd have let her off the hook if she'd been uncaring about it. Really hope that poor man is ok and nothing pops up from it. Still wish at the very least he'd have filed a police report in case he had issues later.

I have terrible difficulties figuring out where (360 degrees) a sound comes from.
I don't have real hearing loss, but I do have issues with mumblers (Love johnny depp in the charlie and the chocolate factory). Also have issues if there are other noises in the room. Some of that is not hearing two things, some of it is not being able to pay attn to both of them and getting confused. But I do also have difficulty determining where a sound is coming from usually in the house. Dunno if any of that can be chalked up to acoustics or whatever.

Passive-aggressive mumblers usually do something to hide their lips.
you've mentioned this a couple times, not really sure whatchya mean. I used to have a very soft voice. My mom would always say I was doing it on purpose, no, it was just very difficult to change a pattern, particularly when I wasn't around her much, a lot of it came from being very insecure at the time.

That, or he knows someone in the F.B.I. (Friend, Brother, In-law)

Flippin Brown-nosin' Idiot you meen?
Love both of those!! Hope I can remember em.
My guess has always been Mir-anny, kind of rhyming with the tranny in a car
I said it in my head like Tyranny. No relation of course! lol

We were going to move the DirectTV down here but, with all the wind and rain we figured cable would be more reliable.
that's what I always thought, and it never used to, but my son has Time Warner, and it's gone out in bad weather. Not sure how, unless coincidence, but it has a couple times. But it actually goes out a lot more than I think it should. It's been really annoying! The internet goes out more than the TV, but the TV is what has gone wonky in bad weather a couple times.

We have cable internet and a very HIGH badwidth limit. Something just spiked and blew through it on three days in Nov. We are trying to sort out what did it.
I had no idea it was limited either. Don't really know what bandwidth is exactly, but could someone have hacked your wifi??

As long as they can get free stuff, why not. The gubmint will take care of them.

Although I don't recall there being an everyday occurrence, I will freely admit to having posted an occurrence or three .. that's the beauty of Forums and Threads .. we can all post opinions and thoughts in a truly Democratic way .. for example : I am not a Believer, however, I don't go out of my way to counter post those that clearly are .. the discourse can take any direction at any point, and in many cases, is simply a tool with which to vent .. at any rate, since you decided to bring it up, here we go :

There is actually a name for it .. Juvenoia (I'm not making that up) .. defined as the belief that today's youth are worse than those of the past .. an admitted exaggeration of fear based on social change in kids ..

Truth is, I agree with your post, Dave .. however, it is the right of anyone on the Thread to post as they see fit and as Posting Rules apply .. yourself included .. IOW, your thoughts are as valid as any others, and others points are as valid as yours .. if an anti Youth Rant allows a poster to unload some baggage, oh well .. and, since you say "It's always been the worldwide pastime of the older generations to discount the younger ones." I would have to add that, based on your own words, your rant accomplishes nothing .. :) ..

And neither does mine .. :)

We don't use netflix. He is wondering if the apple TV didn't shut off streaming radio when he told it to on those 3 days. No clue so we are watching it in hopes of figuring it out should it spike again.
I really don't think streaming radio would use that much. We use it a lot when traveling and back when I had a 3 or 4 GB limit I could stream over my cell for about a month and never hit the limit. Your ISP might be able to tell you at least the main IP addresses you visited on those days. Might help track it down.

Since I just can't seem to remember him, I'm guessing his Super Powers included : "I'm more stupid than anyone .." .. "Won First Place in the Stupid Contest .. " .. his motto is "Stupid Is As Stupid Does .. " .. came from the Planet Stupider .. wears a costume with a large question mark on the chest .. can flunk a test at the speed of light .. his Family includes Stuperwoman, Stupergirl, Stuperboy .. hung out with Scooby and Shaggy in his youth but they ended up unfriending because he ate too many Scooby Snacks .. ;)

Oh, and I was wondering if there was a film coming out any time soon .. ;)
Pretty much nailed it. It's what my little brother used to call him when he hadn't learned to talk quite yet. Also called fire truck "frucks" as in "look mommy a fruck!":shock::lol:

This is the first I have heard about it.

I do know they were trying for a state wide tax on it but I have no idea if that passed or not. Given how much vape stuff I ordered in the last 2 weeks I would have thought I would have seen that by now.

Edit: If you could remember the site I might be able to contact them and find out why. I am coming up with nothing with my google foo.

Morning folks. New refrigerator comes this afternoon. Got up early and ran a line from under the sink to the new fridges location for the icemaker. Lots of knee work on that one. Presently sitting on the back porch with a snoozing dog next to me. Got a cold drink, my vape and a beautiful cool South Florida day. What could be better than that? Well maybe a few things but, we aren't going to talk about that here. :w00t::censored:

Want some more for your collection. Janet would be happy if I 'offed' a box of vintage mid-to-late 50's copies I still have. Aways looked forward to Pedro's next adventure when the new issue arrived.

If you were looking where you were going instead of her .... you wouldn't have crashed you old fool.

No, although I appreciate the offer .. I'm trying to contain the clutter I already have ... and since I've likely got most of those ..

I have freely admitted to being a fan of the Female Derriere since likely thread One .. ;) .. however, now that it may be causing "Senior Accidents" and diverting my focus from the task of walking, it's possible I may need to revise my thinking .. although it's unlikely .. ;) .. kinda like the NRA motto .. ;) "Butts Don't Kill People" .. ;)

THis is the first I have heard about it.
Hope it's not so, so glad you haven't encountered it. I'd heard about Arizona I think it was. I know one person I heard had an issue getting something sent to Texas, but that was the vendor imposing based on needing some age verification

So, you've had no problems getting vape supplies from out of state?

Rotowoman, you're in LA too, right? Have you had any problems getting orders from out of state?

Bells, ranting about anything in the Internet is called "Brown Suit Syndrome" cause it's like ...... your pants in a brown suit. Gives you a warm feeling but, nobody notices.

Perhaps the one doing it thinks it's unnoticed, but if it's done a lot........it stinks ;)

Now I know how to get away with saying "I don't give a fruck" .. thanks for the tip .. ;)
