And you know nothing bad is really going to happen. What? Is the camera crew gonna stand by and film the guy die? Doubt it. Ain't gonna let him starve either.
My vote too! Anybody ever see Zachariah, The First Electric Western staring Joe Walsh and the James Gang?

No...but I've heard 'em sing:D

I believe he's a bit stoned in this one...

Congrats, Maurice! Heck, doesn't matter how you vape, as long as you're off the cigs!

We are after all programmed to follow and obey the tube.

So sad,but so true. My great uncle Hill used to say - no good product needs advertising and if it is endorsed by celebs - then you know it is a piece of junk because it cannot sell itself...

CONGRATULATIONS! The one year mark is a major milestone in my eyes. You should be very proud. Isn't vaping great? :)

Oh yea, Kelley's Heroes! Really enjoy the spaghetti westerns, too. Another good book was Battlefield Earth and the movie really sucked!

Congratulations on your one-year milestone.
Too true about Battlefield Earth. Long sucker though. I enjoyed it, lots of L. Ron Hubbard's science fiction was good until you got to Scientology. Loved Robert Heinlein too. Read everything he wrote. Especially Stranger in a Strange Land (but didn't start a "religion" from it!).

He, He, I remember many a times - me sitting around as an adult - telling my mother all the things that I got away with as a child - she always reminded me that I would never be to old for her to turn over her knee... Ha - never happened... :D
Did that with my mom too. Found out that I didn't get away with as much as I thought. She just chose to ignore it. As she put it "why fight a losing battle." Sure do miss her.

I KNEW I liked you for a special reason Matt!!!!

As I think you'll wanna know who's my favorite captain...well, being a young hot-to-trot- woman:eek::D

it's Wild Bill of course!
When he first showed up I thought he was the biggest ahole but, he's mellowed over time and now I like him. I think the Hillstrand brothers are the best and I absolutely hated the little drug addict.

What is it with Deadliest catch? All they do is throw a crate over and haul it up. Yet... can't stop watching it. The only thing annoying is when they do the personal junk. Fireworks, pranks.

As far as Battlefield earth... yeah. 800 pages of page turning fascination. But the movie does deserve the worst movie ever title.

On Joe Walsch. Did not know that movie existed.
Like the music though.
The first 2 albums I bought were Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon and Joe Walsch - The Smoker You Drink the Player You Get. At least that is the name I think...

Dark Side of the Moon was also the first album I ever bought. Didn't buy too many when I was a kid because I had three older brothers who kept up with the music scene. Just "borrow" theirs as they weren't home much anyway. Used to use CSN's first album and the Doors "Soft Parade" to fall asleep at night.

Good morning Good Folks!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and very Happy Holidays.

It's been quite a while since I posted on ECF, got a lot of catching up to do... so figured I'd start with the Back Porch.

......
The first 2 albums I bought were Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon and Joe Walsch - The Smoker You Drink the Player You Get. At least that is the name I think...

Wet Willie "Drippin' Wet" was my first album - Dark Side of the Moon was one of my early ones tho. (how 'bout that for a contrast :thumb:) Still have those -and- Walsh's The Smoker You Drink the Player You Get also! (luv the cover art on that one). Joe Walsh is one heck-of-a guitarist and has always been one of my fav musicians... have several Eagles LPs, and Walsh's "So What" too. Life's Been Good To Me So Far - but right now I have the - All Night Laundry Mat Blues.

(having a fit of nostalgia here, so y'all bear with me ;))

I was just thinking the other day:

My Marantz 6110 turntable is ~40 years old, and needs a new drive belt -probably a new cartridge and needle too. Gonna try and make 2016 the year I finally fix it up. Also still have a Marantz 3200 pre-amp and Dynakit Stereo 70 tube amp (circa 1959 - that baby looks cool with the top off in a semi-darkened room). The pots, slide controls, and selector knobs on the pre-amp all need cleaning - crackle when you move them... but otherwise it works.

Dang, just talking about it makes me want to go drag it all out right now!

May the Walsh be with you :D

Welcome back, Uman!

Did that Marantz come with a sapphire stylus?
'Cause diamonds are forever!

I hear ya on the Marantz, Uman. :) Got an old Marantz component system. Kickz ..... Problem is finding speakers for it. 300w per channel back in the day was literally 300w per channel. Today 300 per channel means split by four so 75 watts is the true power output.

300 watts? do they make a 510 connector for speaker wire? You could vape to the music?

(((UMAN!:))) Where you been? Hope your Christmas was great, & your New Year is happy!
I had a Marantz Gold something I bought in about '82. Don't remember the model other than Gold. Turntable, dual cassette, equalizer thingie, 4 big speakers. It sounded awesome.
