Credit ratings do affect availability and cost of credit. I value mine as much as anyone.
Yes, but the OP said there is no chance that the need for credit would ever be relevant to her situation. My comment was directed to her self-described situation, not to everyone's situation.Credit ratings do affect availability and cost of credit. I value mine as much as anyone.
Hoping some of you folks can weigh in here:
The ongoing debacle of Chanel and PODS. As I posted last week the money went back in my account leaving me to surmise I had won. I was gleeful for a few days and waiting to hear from Chase regarding it but refusing to endure the nightmare of calling them.
Today I get a call from collections at PODS. They are demanding payment and threatening to turn it over to a third party collector. YIKES.
Of course I now decide to endure calling Chase. 29 minutes later and two trips to the Phillipines and I have an account manager from the dispute department tell me they cannot do anything about PODS trying to collect their money. DOUBLE YIKES.
The paperwork was submitting to PODS last week taking the money back that they received and they get two billing cycles to respond. They have not responded. By mid December if they do not respond, case is closed in my favor. In the meantime the manager told me they have no control over them trying to collect it through a collection agency.
I am aghast here. I did not just want to get my money and run with it at all costs. I value my credit and have a very high score. I told the manager this and they actually told me their only job was to get my money back.
I feel I should have been warned. Just do not know what to do at this point but unwilling to sacrifice a very high credit score. Unblemished and well over 800. (Coming from a bad bad place in my early 20's and not caring and then working hard to repair it on my own) Is this worth it? Will a letter from Chase to the reporting agency eliminate it? I am not in a place where I will ever need to apply for anything again. Pay for my cars and homes in cash.
Hoping there are some financial guru's in here. I am also unwilling to just pay them at this point too. HELP with advice if you know any of these answers
Have you considered contacting the Better Business Bureau?
Thanks! This is now the 30th autumn that I've lived in the coastal plain of eastern NC, and I don't believe I've ever seen any significant leaf color changes this early in the fall.Dave, apparently ya haven't had da critical 'cool snap' to 'turn' dose leaves.
Must say, for sum reason, I absolutely luv your vids wid dat song & your 'moves'!![]()
great point. I guess it was an exercise in discipline at one time for me.My opinion on financial gurus is that anyone who claims to be one is by definition not one.
Since you are both unwilling to pay the unjustified bill and unwilling to see your credit rating go down, your choice is narrowed down to pleading your case with each of the credit rating agencies once PODS files a negative report with them.
Philosophically speaking I can't see why you care about your credit rating. Is it checked at heaven's gate?
Excellent idea with the BBB. State legislation was no help when I was trying to get the POD here. My brain is failing me at the moment as to why.Have you considered contacting the Better Business Bureau? Also, your state legislator should be able to give you some direction or even solve the problem. Might also go to their website and try to post some facts as you have dealt with. Sure do with you the best of luck. It's been a long time messing with this.
Good luck with the BBB. The only time I contacted them regarding a company, beyond telling me that there had been multiple reports filed against it, I was given no recourse...Excellent idea with the BBB. Please keep us posted on how things work out with the BBB. I know so little about them that I didn't know they did any kind of post-purchase advocacy on behalf of consumers. I thought they were strictly a report compiling outfit that people consulted ahead of time to determine whether or not to do business with a company.I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau this morning. Tedious as can be. I think the reason it became a worthless entity is because it was overused and abused with anyone wanting to get even with a business. Now they have to be more selective in how they can help.
