Now I just need to save up for a nice recliner to sit in while I watch it...

Too bad ya don't live closer! I have a lovely dark blue fabric recliner dat was used fer one month. My girls don't have room fer it...

It's now a collection point fer Patty's 'health accessories' near her leather 'home nest'...

Will give it to any porcher/porcherette dat will pick it up!

I gave one away a few months ago for the same reason. The young couple we gave it to were so tickled to get it. They were some what newly married and were still struggling to get their finances to work.

I sure remember those days. I used to make our end tables, coffee tables and a lot of other things out of pallet wood when we first got married... Shoot my first bed frame was made from pallet wood and our mattress was an inflatable...

Sounds so familiar, but in my case....I was the one who made all of our first furniture, from old wooden display tables from a defunct department store...stripped the old varnish off....cut the legs down and made a platform bed, coffee table and what passed as two sofas with foam cushions I upholstered...

That's also when I found out that my husband couldn't put a nail in the wall without injuring himself... ;)

I've got a friend like that. His wife has tried to get him to help me with projects over the years hoping he would pick up a few things. He does know what a hammer is now, but he is still not sure which end you use. And don't even ask him to hand you a philips screwdriver - there is no telling what you may get...

Which could easily delay the project :)

I got jinxed with our convo about losing things.

I'm in full blown panic mode. And it's one of my Provaris :shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:…my absolutely preferred mods for 99% of my waking hours.

Returned home, put it in my purse…or so I thought, walked to the house, sat my purse down, sat the bags down. Petted the cats and went to get my provari. NOT THERE!!!

DH and I retraced our steps to the car in case it fell out, searched the car, searched the entire house, not there :(:(:(:(:(. And if I don't find it I can't afford to replace it. I have 6 more but…

EDIT: I FOUND IT :):):). It was in the trash. I think what happened was I must have put it in the plastic bag with my purchases and I emptied it above the trash container (don't ask me why) so when it dropped out into the trash container it didn't clank.
Sorry! Didn't mean to jinx anyone!!! Glad you found it! I'd be going nuts if I lost one of those (were I lucky enough to own one)

I just LOVE this goofy little man!
Omg he's beautiful! I have a rescue GSD mix - just today he was sedated and tested for possible autoimmune whatever because I cannot tell you how much $$$ I've spent on random issues over the past few years but this past 6 weeks had been really bad. I'm broke and selling stuff just to pay for that procedure [emoji22][emoji22]

Oh that's a tough situation with your dog ... good luck. Our last dog had multiple health issues and the monthly med's were pretty dang pricey. The alternative to the monthly expensive was to put her down. We couldn't to that. The meds let her live a good life, so we found the money 'till her time came to an end. Still miss her.

Good morning, BP

Have tried this move a few times and finally gave up cause I fell on my derriere a number of times.....my family just laughs.

On another subject, just some good music:
Ah, I had to pause my Pandora because your choice rivals my 'InDreams' Lori Line

Oh, I remember also.......Peter made us our first dining room table, which looked like a picnic bench but much more detailed. When my parents passed, it was then that we fortunately inherited their solid cherry dining room set. It's quite old now, but still looks like it did back in Huntingdon Valley where they lived.

All of our furniture is from days gone by. Our newest piece of furniture is from the late 80's to early 90's. When I look to replace what we have (and we do want to replace some) it is hard since the quality is just not there anymore...

We are going through the same thing with our dog right now. His quality of life is quite hampered, but not terrible yet. The meds keep him comfortable - I just wish he could understand what is going on...

By coincidence, I have something very similar in my ancestry. My mother's mother's father was born of such a union. The only clue I have to the father is a newspaper photo. The photo is captioned as by the famous celebrity photographer Count Jean de Streleki but no name of the subject is given, and since the text is missing, the article may have been about the photographer rather than my gg-grandfather. I can't even tell what newspaper the article is from, although it may be a New York newspaper. Someone has written "Gustav Rosell was his illegitimate son" on the edge of the photo and my mother or one of her brothers has written "Gustav Rosell's father; mother's grandfather."
Gustav_Rosell_father_600.png

If anyone recognizes this guy, I'd be happy to know who he is. I believe he might be German, but could be Swedish as were all the rest of my mother's family. Gustav was born in 1852, so this guy would have likely been 20-40 years older than that. (I have googled the text on the back of the photo, hoping to discover it in some newspaper archive, which would then let me recover the text of the article surrounding this photo, but no luck so far.)

At any rate, dna testing (autosomal, since in both our cases the line is mixed male and female) could possibly give us clues as to the general family connection of our mysterious (and libidinous, and likely wealthy) ancestors. It would take a LOT of luck to make the actual connections. This is especially true since Europe has much stricter privacy laws than the US. But if someone should show up in our suggested "4th to distant cousin" matches that would otherwise fit the description, it might just be worth checking out. Yours, at g-grandfather distance (as opposed to mine at gg-grandfather separation) would be a lot likelier discovery.

Now that's what I call a brick wall! Sorry I can't help you, but you never know when you might catch a break especially with people adding to online info all the time.

So our butterfly raising season has started. I watched a giant swallowtail lay eggs on one of my citrus trees so I went collecting. 13 eggs and 3 1st instar caterpillars:). (Instar is what butterfly caterpillars are called and they go through 5 stages.)

Many butterfly growers remove the eggs to a safe place to hatch to protect them from predators. Butterflies lay many eggs because only few will survive to adulthood. In my yard anoles would devour them in no time…butterflies, even those that are not classified as endangered need help.

This little guy is actually about 1/4" long!

Monarch butterfly and zebra swallowtail butterfly raising seasons are right around the corner:) . Good thing we built a good size butterfly cage!

That is so cool!! It's great that there are people out there willing to put in the work to raise those beautiful creatures.

I don't know what kind of pieces you're looking for, but if it's any kind of dresser or chest with drawers, be sure and check the back of it...;) In the early 90's I ordered a bedroom suite....queen sized fourposter, triple dresser and highboy that was 'supposed' to be all wood....cherry to be exact. When it was delivered, it was all wood, except...the back of the dresser and highboy were stapled on heavy cardboard!!! This wasn't bargain priced and I was pretty unhappy about it....

And....another example of quality gone downhill...:( At the same time I bought the bedroom suite, I bought my husband a recliner, this one...(no, I didn't buy it from Amazon)

https://www.amazon.com/Barcalounger...qid=1520356266&sr=8-144&keywords=barcalounger

Barcalounger used to be touted as the best in luxury recliners... He wasn't a big man but he wanted a big chair...and it was beautiful, until.... Less than 2 years after buying it, daughter came over... sat down, and went to recline....and the back just kept going back, dumping her head first onto the floor. The back just completely broke off....so much for an expensive, supposedly quality chair....:grr:
