You know its weird to me that some days go by pretty good. And others like today I just have a sinking feeling and feel like I want to cry. I hate days like this. Cry or Die, in our days real men don't cry but I guess it's ok to feel like it. I don't know why it comes on like this but it does. Woke up at 0245 and couldn't get back to sleep finally did in my chair. Life sucks.

Yep, Mike; that vise is so handy for holding my air rifles and .22 bolt action for maintenance.

I'd be lost without mine. Like you, I use it for all kinds of things besides woodworking. It's just so handy and versatile. I can't remember ever clamping a rifle in it ... but I have clamped my bow in it when working on the bow.

{{{{Patrick}}}} I'm so sorry you're having a crying day, but you won't always feel like this. Our brains are made to feel both ends of the spectrum and everything in between and not get stuck in one place for too long. You've got so much on your plate and you've just had a house full of family. Things are suddenly quiet now so your brain has to switch gears again. It's a tough transition to make. Sometimes when I'm stuck in a weird or bad place I try to loose myself in the story of a good book. Or maybe watch a good movie or listen to some . Who cares if it's 3 a.m. You just need a little time for your brain to switch and meanwhile find something to bridge the gap. Here's hoping you have a better night and a better day tomorrow.

Oh, Legs, I'm sorry you are having a bad spell. I had one yesterday. They are the pits! I took a prozac to stop it yesterday because it just snuck up on me. It tried to start again today & I was able to distract myself & it stopped. You've had a LOT going on, & suddenly it's quiet & you can hear yourself think. Give your mind something positive to work on.

If a male can't cry and laugh, he's not a man; he's a monster!

Pat, just try to sort out your priorities to keep your mind in 'mission' mode. The 'blues' can be debilitating.

Luv, out...

The Health Benefits of Tears If you want to cry, don't hold it back. It does help.

<snip>Any votes for Google Home Mini or Amazon Dot? I'm thinking of getting one or the other.

I like the Dot (I have four and might get more), but then I am a serious Amazon customer and I have no Android devices.

If you have Android devices, that would be an argument for the Home Mini since GooglePlay is a (the?) source for Android apps.

If you have iPhones and iPads, you could go with the Dot, but it's not so essential as with the Android/Google/GooglePlay constellation. Of course with the Dot and iPxxx pairing you have two voice assistants: "Alexa..." and "Hey, Siri..." which doubles your chances of false triggering by normal conversation, with sometimes amusing consequences.

I might have to get a Google Home Mini, just to make my collection of voice assistants complete.

For more than you ever wanted to know, Google for [ amazon dot vs google home mini ]. Lots of arguments pro and con for either.

Edit: Here is an interesting side-by-side comparison of the capabilities of all three for their strengths and weaknesses as voice assistants: Alexa vs. Google Assistant vs. Siri: Google Widens Its Lead (except recent changes show Alexa improving - this is a moving target since all three add new capabilities every few days).
