Ads I can accept; it's the incessant phone calls that are reluctant to admit they're selling Medicare supplementary policies that irk me. For one thing, why try to sell something when you are embarrassed to admit what they're selling.

Then, there's that bus. The size of an old, full size Greyhound bus, totally covered with the announcement "MEDICARE ENROLLMENT". But it has nothing to do with Medicare enrollment. It's all about supplementary insurance. Borderline fraud, if you ask me. Any idea what the bus and custom paint job costs - just for the enrollment period? Tells me something about the profit margin in their insurance plans. Maybe it just operates in the Farmington area. Anyone see the same thing elsewhere? /rant over

I hate it when I get organized. Last week I went to the local public range and spent the day poking holes in paper with my favorite bang sticks. I like to clean them as soon as I get home so I am not putting dirty weapons in my safe. I prefer the odor of Hoppes to cordite. Well, the best-laid plans of mice and men. I could not find any of my cleaning supplies. I have been through the garage, the workshop and all places in-between, no cleaning supplies. Yesterday I again went to the workshop and finally found my gear. I had gotten organized and put my supplies in a new larger toolbox. My bedroom and safe now have the pleasing aroma of Hoppes!

You knkow I'm starting to think that damned infection was starting to affect my ability to think, more then usual. This is day 2 of the antibiotics she put me on and I feel 90% better. Gotta good nights sleep comparatively to 3 or 4, I feel almost normal again. Yesterday was very weird, I thought for sure I was going to die. I didn't want to go to the hospital because of my phobia of them which started when I lost my legs. I hate hate hate them. Don't even like to go there for an xray let alone being placed there. I was sure that was what they were going to do and wasn't up for that at all so I was really worried about going in and getting it checked. These AB she put me on must be pretty potent I take 2 of 1 and 4 of another. So YEEHAW
Great! Now stop procrastinating & get things lined up so you guys are more stable when one of you gets sick. Maybe you need some of Dave's vinegar....

The phobia of hospitals like I said started with losing my legs. What happened is I went in for an overnight so they could give me the infusion slowly, my doc at that time thought that would be better but instead of giving it to me slowly they tried to get the 2 bags in in about 4 hours. I went in thinking this is going to be great, the food is good there and you can order what you want anytime up till 8pm. I was actually looking forward to it. When I woke up 3 weeks later and was told my legs had to be amputated I couldn't believe it. I was there 1 more week and sent to a rehab nursing home so 3 weeks in ICU and one week on regular floor now legless and ever since I have hated them.

There is a chance for bad weather in our area throughout the evening so I'm getting things together. The wimp cellar is free of water and ready. The next thing on my list was checking the generator. Dang, I haven't started it since the start of last years storm season. A year and a half of out of sight out of mind. I filled the gas, grabbed a can of starter fluid and took off the airfilter (just in case). So oil is fine and fresh gas in the tank. I set the choke and one pull of the starter rope and it fired right up. I'm impressed with the Honda motor on this Black Max generator from Sam's Club. Now hopping this weather moves right on past us.

I tried but by the time my attorney could get the records they had all been computer generated and printed out. There was no mention of the first episode as they called it. It was like it never happened. In the FDA instructions for getting an infusion of albumin it said at any point having a reaction of any kind they were supposed to immediately stop it. They didn't they continued giving it to me, when I had the 2nd reaction they couldn't pull me out of it and I couldn't breathe. It was like my throat closed up, they rushed me to ICU and they were watching my O2. I remember them saying it was down to 50% in the elevator. When I got there they were ready and immediately put the respirator tube in my throat and I remember getting that first breath of air then nothing else for 3 weeks. They told Ginny they didn't expect me to make it through the night. Finally I guess a doctor saw me that knew exactly what was wrong which he called the worst case of Malnutrition he had ever seen. He put me on all kinds of stuff through the IV. He pretty much single handedly pulled me out of this. He just happened to check me out, he was a bariatric surgeon and Ginny told him about the weight loss surgery we had both had and he immediately knew what was happening. If he hadn't stopped in that day I would probably be dead. They didn't really have a clue as to what was happening. I really believe it was divine intervention that he saw me. He was just there to see his other patients. To this day I don't know why God picked me to help, I wasn't particularly a religious person but for whatever reason this happened. I'm not questioning it but it happened. I was going to go into more detail along with 8X10 color glossy photos but thought better of that.

Damn it. I was in a pretty good mood and I started thinking about what is going on with Ginny, and it's like the wind was taken out of my sails. I really don't want to live in a world without her. I just don't understand why this had to happen to us, we aren't perfect but life is just unfair. Read this today thought it was kinda funny.

Sometimes life gives you lemons...and all you can do is throw them at someone just for the hell of it.

Another 1 of those nights. Fell asleep in my recliner for about 45 min, then I woke Gin up and said lets go to bed. Well I laid there for 2 hours and said BS on this. Some nights are better then others, this was not one of them. I talked to 2 of my BIL 1 who lost his wife in what started as breast cancer and for some reason she wouldn't get a mastectomy. She did get in remission but it came back with a vengeance only in her Brain, The other BIL has been the one who has been there though helping this BIL and another who lost his wife to intestinal Cancer. His doc told him he only had a year to live if he didn't get something done and he is as stubborn as the rest of the Gogal clan. I'll tell you Ginny is such a strong person it's unbelievable. I don't know how she does it.

We have to go to Costco, gotten so I hate going there everything is so heavy Ginny says she just asks for help loading it and never has any problems. But I can see up using Walmart with there shopping bringing it out and loading it up. A lot of the things we get they carry, Might be a dollar more but it would be worth it.

One of the things I get is Perrier and you have to order it at Walmart and takes a couple days. I usually get 4 cases of 16 oz bottles 24 in each. That lasts me about 5-6 weeks, the other thing we get is chiccken breast from their left over rotisserie chickens. We feed it to our little spoiled dog. We normally get 4 packages which split into 3 smaller bags each. The bags last 3 days. We are going to try to be there when they open and get home in time for the game at 130pm.

Still can't decide whether to get snow tires and wheels. We had snow this morning, didn't stick around for long but it may be coming.

My infection is getting smaller and smaller, thank God.0

Kroger also has pickup. You do have to pay for it tho. I think it's a % of the order value. Maybe you can get some things there too. We also have HEB here & they have pick up, also. Some of these stores might deliver, also.

I wrote that last text at 230am and fell asleep before I sent it. Lucky for me. I slept in around 2 or 3 hour shifts all night till 9am. Waking and being awake for a couple hours each time. So things sort of worked out. The furnace guy is coming tomorrow and hopefully our furnace will hang in there for 1 more year but Ginny says she has heard it clicking like it does when it is screwed up. If it is we already know what is wrong. It is the little electronic brain that controls the igniter. After last check up that it might have been going down for the count. He put one on his van so he would have it if he had to come out. He already knew it was wearing out so he's making sure that he had one available.

What does Kroger equate to on the West. We have no such animal here but a lot of places have different names in the West. Sort of like Hellmans and Best Foods. If you told someone here to get some Hellmans mayo they would have no idea what you are talking about.

Well Walmarche has just about anything that we get at Costco except the Chicken. The only place that rotisseries chicken at the rate Costco does is Costco. Dang those chickens is great and cheap. If we were really hurting for money and had a family I think you could feed a family of 4 for meat that would be a definite option but you would have to be able to afford the membership. It just really blows my mind that those ar only $5 and they are big chickens.

Fred Meyer. Owned by Kroger, but don't know if they have the same curb-side service.

In Farmington, we have Smith's. All the inventory that isn't national brands seems to be Kroger, so I suspect Smith's is now a part of Kroger.

Back east we've got Sam's, BJs and Costco and they all have rotisseries as well as our local supermarkets. Those chickens are delicious and they're great for lots of different meals.
