Hulu for 99 cents/month.

Say, if you haven't been to the Lounge thread, UW posted a pretty good deal to get Hulu for 1 year at 99 cents / month. It's a special today only and there's still a few hours left before the deal expires.

Follow the link if interested.

My daughter just told me she ordered a Nest Doorbell and Outside Light deal that she found on Home Shopping Channel online. We have had a couple of problems with cars being messed with in our driveway. She had some tools stolen out of her toolbox in the truck bed and I had my jeep rummaged through. Not too bright as I had a roll of quarters in my center console, a GPS on the dash, and about $10 in change. Either they were totally lit or they got spooked. The only other problem I have had was the window of my truck was busted by a baseball bat on a Saturday night. I think it was a guy that I had "removed the offer of employment" at work, (PC speak for being fired during training).

That's sucks about the baseball bat incident. Dang! We just got a ring door bell that was on sale prior to the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. If the washer and dryer didn't need replacing we might have gotten one of the Ring Flood Light Cams for the driveway with one of the weekend sales. Haven't setup the Ring Doorbell yet, been spending to much time with Dots and Smart Plugs.

Well Ginny has to go in tomorrow and have some gold pellets placed around the spot on her liver where the cancer is. I got up this morning and I can barely walk. I don't know what is wrong. I don't know if it's the infection that caused this or what but I can't put any weight on my left leg. I don't know what we are going to do. We have no one to ask for help over here.

Might want to check out one/some of these medical transportation services. If you're in their service area and 'pre-register' only $1.50 per ride.

Transportation to Medical Appointments | Resources in Spokane, WA.

Not as cheap but maybe join here and see what's available

Top 10 Senior Transportation Providers Near Me in Spokane, WA - Care.com

And there's bunch listed here. On the right side of the page, I think the 2nd one down said 'free'.

I think I can get her there ok it's whether I can walk from the car to the hospital. They will have wheelchairs inside. I'm just concerned that this infection is causing this because I didn't do anything to it. I've never had an infection that made my bones and muscles hurt but only when I try to walk on it. It doesn't hurt just sitting or anything except walkin. I'm going to get her there but not sure how I'm going to spend the next 8 hours.

I'm assuming there is no valet parking there? What about dropping Ginny off, parking, and then using crutches until you get inside? Then you could use a wheelchair yourself to get around? Just take your time and be careful.

@Bea-FL I was on the Gardner's Supply site and saw an Oriole jelly feeder. Never saw one before but it looks interesting. Do you know anything about these as far as drawing bees and if it's really good for the Orioles? I'm also wondering if the squirrels would like it because I don't want to draw any more of those critters here.

Also, anybody have any thoughts about Mason Bees? Our daughter has a neighbor who planted bamboo that's invading her yard and I was thinking about trying to make Mason bee houses out of it. Our poor honey bees are having a tough time, but from what I read encouraging Mason bees are beneficial for pollinating.

No direct experience with mason bees, but I've read the same, they are good pollinators. Go for it :)

The other thing I'd read is that they don't sting unless you do something threatening to them like try to squish them. That's a definite positive too!

You might ask @oldbroad about her experiences with the Oriole jelly feeder...I believe she uses one.

Good to see you ... you've be away for awhile. Let's see some of your painting work. The one you posted on your FB page was really cool!

Long story with the painting...;) The first several were done on canvas panels as a less expensive learning tool. They warped as they dried from the amount of moisture in the paints, so...they are currently stacked between sheets of parchment paper and weighted down to flatten them out. Add to it, paints dry darker than they appear when wet. Once flattened out, varnish will bring the colors back to life. 3 coats of varnish, and then I will bore you all with a mini exhibition. I've graduated to stretched canvas now...that was a 12"x16" canvas on FB...

For some reason I'm not getting alerts from this thread anymore. :(

yes it would attract squirrels.

As far as Orioles in my experience these feeders don't work well. At least most of my birding friends who also feed birds say that. What attracts them is a fruit feeder. Don't waste your money buying one. Check the link.

Thanks! Never would have thought of oranges for orioles. If I put them out I'd have to use a suet cage and also figure out some kind of roof to discourage the squirrels because it would have to be on the deck for us to see them. Thanks for the info on the jelly too. (I think the raccoon came back one night because in the morning the bird feeder was barely hanging from one side of the hangar. He might like oranges too)

Well, we're lucky cause the temps will not dip below 37o tonight.

As Bea will agree, this weather is reminiscent of our days back home, however, the big difference is that our blood is a lot thinner living in Florida, so the bite is a lot more intense!

I already have a wish list on Grow Joy's site........it's getting longer and longer........however, this Spring I intend to finish my plan of minimal maintenance. Being in the garden for 4-5 hours a day is becoming history! I'll take 2 and call it a day!

Ours went down to 31, better than the 29 they said. But we're supposed to have a low of 29 again tonight and then it starts climbing back toward our norms of 70/45 for this time of year.

Flower you're right. We don't handle the cold as well.…never mind that we live here because we HATE IT!

So what kinds of plants are on your wish list?
