When I see snow closings (either the funny panics of our southern folks, or the slightly "realer" panics of my midwestern neighbors) it reminds me of the winter I spent at Michigan Tech ('61-'62) when they had 317" (that's 26 feet or 8 meters) of snow on the ground by March (when I quit school - they had more before the end of winter).
