Good morning! :)

Another day in the life of little kids. Our daughter texted us last night that they took Hux (age 2) to the ER. He stuck a jellybean up his nose. A red one. He doesn't know how to blow his nose so with all his crying he sniffed it way up there. After waiting forever for the doc Hux seemed to be just fine. They decided he must have sucked it all the way up and swallowed it. I couldn't stop laughing and then the thought hit that he could have done this while we were babysitting him!!
My granddaughter did the same thing about a year ago! It's funny, but when it's all over!

Good morning :).

Janet this reminds me of an incident from when I was little. Those were the days of mercury thermometers. Apparently while taking my temp I must have bit down on it and all those beads of mercury were loose in my mouth. I can remember my parents removing them one by one with a pair of tweezers.

OH NO! All those tiny little pieces of clear glass!! I don't know that they even make them anymore.

The reminds me of what a young friend said to me once. It was about 28 years old and lost his father a few years 'back'. He said to me, the 1st days and weeks everyone's asking 'how you doing, etc'. But he said to me, a year or more later people don't ask anymore and sometimes that's what's needed. The missing and longing and aching doesn't go away and sometimes it helps just to have someone ask even when all that time has gone by.

That's what I grew up with too, of course. My mother/grandmother put a healthy fear into me of ever biting it! I don't understand why they don't just use them under the arm, especially in small children or feverish/delirious people.
They do. We have one.
Why? You have other choices now, right?

I am delighted that I never had to deal with that!

Don't mean to gross anyone out....and I wouldn't have had the intestinal fortitude to do what my 17 year old Stepson did when my Daughter was about the same age and I was freaked out.... She stuffed a dried bean up her nose...he laid her down, held a finger over the other nostril and used his mouth to suck it out...

Should have extracted it with a corkscrew.

Me too. Now, if the kid were a little older, you could show him the corkscrew normally used to extract jelly beans from the nose.

I use similar on the lawn trailer/dumper I tow, and put a cap on the bottom, so things don't fall through. 1/2" hole drilled in the cap for drainage.

Good for rakes and other straight handle tools.
we use a pallett turned on its side to store garden stuff like shovels and rakes. They slide steaight down and don't fall sideways.

Why? You have other choices now, right?.
Because the modern ones take batteries and inevitably on the rare occasion we need to take our temp (usually less than once a year) the battery is dead. With this thermometer…no bats!

Sounds good for stationary storage, but I work on 2 1/2 acres ;) Having a few tools on the dump cart saves a lot of steps!

Had a hard time waking up this morning, but fairly awake now......
Tonight my daughter is treating my friend and I to Disney on Ice in Jax.......so will probably sneak a short nap somewhere in the day......if now, I'll get my second wind, hopefully!

Well good morning. I’m in a fix now. Here is my situation. I worked for the railroad for 38 years never saved much that’s on me. I have a house car motor home that I owe on. According to my people I have contacted being the great procrastinator I am in deep. They are going to say I make too much money to qualify for Medicade. I can sell the house make a few dollars like maybe 50 to 60k get rid of the motor home lose money there. Maybe my car would be ok they may think it is too nice there are several scenarios. I could do what I’ve seen done divorce her then just use her portion for her income. I could even live in the motor home but that wouldn’t work for Ginny She is too unstable I don’t know I haven’t seen her since she has took a spill hit her heady and now she can’t walk. Alyssa my dear granddaughter has informed me at the end of April she is done and wants to be with her family. I understand that but I don’t like it. I want to downsize as far as house. It would be better if I moved to the other side office the mountains but the cost of living there is like getting a little house would cost as much as my big house does now. That is what I eventually like to do. I think that I could get more help taking care of her there I’m pretty sure. I would need to rent a storage place because we have too much stuff. Of course I would have to get rid of stuff that’s so that is the situation. I know Uncle has a list of who to contact. Of course me with my procrastination didn’t write them down So if anyone has that list could you please pass it along again it would be much appreciated. My GD has some ideas. I’m pretty much on my own at the end of April. I thought my GD was was going to be more help but I guess its too much to ask which I understand.
I decided to stay here till Monday I need the build up so I don’t fall again.

@2legsshrt . . .

First, please take a breath for a moment.

FYI: As far as I know - When applying for either Medicaid, Medicaid for Special Needy, or Social Security Disability, while they do look at your "assets", there are 2 main things they cannot force you to sell - nor can they say you do not qualify for assistance if you own them . . . 1) Your Primary Home, especially the one that you live in and 2) Your Vehicle, particularly since you actually NEED it to get around to Doctor appointment, shopping for food, etc.

Here is a link to the Washington State Medicaid Program - "Washington Apple Health":
(You can even apply online there too - and/or if you can't, someone can help you with the application)

BTW: They even have a section on the home page that might help you called: How Do I . . .

You can read more very valuable information about eligibility here for the Washington State Medicaid Program :
(BTW: It is a 20 page pdf file - you just may want to read online or call/email them to ask for a copy to be sent to you . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;) )

AND - You may want to read this too, it is about your options that are available for long term care and how to find help to pay for it:

Now - Here is a link to all the other information I posted for you before:

Really hope all this is helpful . . . However - If any of this information gets to be too much to read or comprehend passed it all over to one of your children or grandchildren so they can help YOU & Ginny . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Okay - I'm done got to go get some "Blood" taken out of "Me" . . . ;)

HI, CW! How's the new boy in the family?

Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

He's good, has been a little sick lately, mainly congestion and what may have been the stomach flu. He bounced back from the stomach flu, but his nose has been draining pretty bad. We're sucking snot from his nose, and using an infant approves saline spray to help keep it dry. The weather here has been rough on him.
