@Kenna, I'm glad you're home. I think? You're mother probably just doesn't like change. It may take a few months before this is now what she's used to.
She'll have to get used to it. She called & messaged everyone we know hoping to find someone to agree that she should have a box spring if she wanted one. They all told her the same thing the salesman & I did, so she just got angrier & angrier. She's a clinically diagnosed narcissist. This is how that works. She had 4 days by herself to figure it out. She has not apologized.

Wish I had bought one of those a few years ago when we replaced our ancient one. This 'new' one is high enough that Patty has to put her knee up on it and then roll onto her back (not an easy task for her).

Now ya got me ponderin'...

What brand did you purchase?
The technology has changed so much in the last few years! It's wonderful. If your mattress is older than 8 - 10 years I would definatly encourage you to take Patty & go try on mattresses! We both got Simmons Beautyrest at The Mattress Firm. I got the 13.5" thick Vines full size. Mom chose the 11.5" Ashville II twin size. Both are for back/side sleepers. Hers has individual spring pockets & is a medium support. Mine is more connected & firmer support. They came with free head only adjustable bases. I upgraded my base to head & foot adjustable & paying the difference in price. Mine was on sale for the price of a twin. Hers was Labor Day sale. We chose 1 year financing, but could have had up to 6 years. It's awesome to not wake up with achy back, hips, & shoulders! Mom told one of my sister's that she loves hers. I know I love mine.

If it doesn't totally ruin the look of the furniture, is it possible to cut the legs down on the bed frame?
Her's is my rare antique brass bed circa 1920's. Rare because it's a twin. With the box springs it made it a very high bed. But no, not cutting the legs down. The adjustable base doesn't sit on the bed rails it sits between them. It eliminstes about 6+ inches of height. Mom can almost walk up to it & just sit on it. Before she had to use a stool to get her .... up there to sit on it. She loves that fancy bed, tho, so she was happy to use the stool. She's only 5" tall now. I'm 5 9 & 1/2 so it's too low for me to get up from easily but it was fine for me when it was higher. My bed was my Grandparents 4 poster, circa 1928. I get in like Patty does but just slide over the side & am standing.

Oh my, I wouldn't touch the legs either! Better to sink it into holes in the floor if the stool wouldn't work! We're looking for a bed too, but I can't decide what to get. I know I want a king size, but that means getting a bed that will go with the rest of the furniture. Decisions, decisions.

Time to test da generator. Hopefully, it'll just need an oil change and sum petrol. Personally, I think all we'll have is a rain event. BUT, da ground is water logged here now, thanx to our recent soakings. Thankfully we are in da only non-flooding area in west Bradenton.

Da sooner Dorian turns north, da better! We'll see in several days...

That's about all we had was a rain event along with some gusts of wind that were surprisingly not frightening at all. Actually, we were ready for our hurricane party, and it petered out. We still ate all those carby snacks sitting outside watching the rain.....and the scale reflects our indulgences.....:(

Steve didn't take a very good pic...look closely...

Oh yea, they are so sweet........2 of them frolicked on our lawn this morning, and left abruptly....must have heard something to make them scamper off.

Hux was at the Mushroom festival today with his cousins. This is what he did for the ride home. "I go in mine new backpack". And he kept it on for the whole ride home. 3 year olds are such a riot.
Don't you wonder what was going on in his imagination that made that a thing to do? It's hilarious! [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

I've always been so anxious for the grandkids to speak so we could have conversations. Sometimes gems spring forth like when Miles spent so much time throwing rocks into the waves from the lake. He said the waves were hungry. Ha! Like father, like son with the questions. When my son was that age he asked me if I thought birds ever got dizzy. There are days when I wish I could do a Spock mind meld.

Agreed!! I've been trying for a very very long while to get a close friend to come to ECF and read, read, purchase supplies and learn! Well, she didn't and told me today that she didn't think it would come to this!?!?!.......now, she's frightened cause her supplies are next to none. I feel so badly for her, but I tried, I really did!

Yep ... we we're villains as smokers and now we're even more dangerous villains as vapers. Facts don't matter in this war against vaping.

I probably will stock up just a tiny bit on my favorite flavorings. What would I do without my Tiramisu and Root Beer Float?!

I guess I really am an 'old folk'. I can't believe what this world is coming to! Especially regarding the Constitution.

Now, get off my lawn!

Before it gets too bad I guess I better order a couple more gallons of VG & PG. I have plenty of Nic so no worries there.

Nic - and hardware - will be the choke points. I don't see a need to stock up on PG or VG, too many other users.

I'm concerned about people who don't or can't DIY their juice. I've seen docs interviewed mentioning the recent problems were from vaping THC, but the emphasis is still that it's vaping that's very bad. I'm surprised that the people who are speaking up in favor of vaping are not mentioning anything about the dangers of vaping any juice made from oils. It's easy to be fooled by legit-looking packaging and advertising.
