Having spent the afternoon at a big party for hubby's 90 yr old aunt and in 2 days 93 yr old mother, age is a frame of mind. Unfortunately, due to health issues, this may be the last birthday celebration for both. When my MIL looses her sister that will be the end of her will to live. But they both have lived good, full lives and their prodigy lives on for several generations.

It's not surprising that it's an orange cat in this clip. For some reason most orange cats, usually male, are very laid back and friendly. Wonder why that is.

Excellent observation...

Confidence & loyalty...?

BTW, KC was packin' to go along wid me fer a guitar jam. Sure do miss him <sigh!>

I strongly suspect that your darling wife is the youngest one....I can't see her ever getting old on the inside...:)

... nor outside!

By the way this winter is starting out think we've seen the last of the ground till spring. Still have internet so Kodi is getting a workout. Ginny had to go out and clean the dish so we could catch the game. Just of soon we didn't. Oh found out that an old on and off girlfriend I had when I was younger has Alzheimers and had it for 15 years first I've heard of it been bugging me ever since. She doesn't even know her own sister any more. They moved to Boston together. If everyone would put my SIL in their prayers would be appreciated. He has been deployed from Kuwait to a place thats not friendly. He is able to contact Alyssa about every 3 days so far. 3 months till he gets back to Kuwait and then about 25 days and a wake up till he gets to come home. He got sent there 2 days before Christmas just him and the other TACP.

Alzheimers is a hideous disease. It has touched our family too. Sure wish there was a cure.

Ongoing prayers for your SIL as well as all of our men and women serving in our military.

Thank you, and yes, I totally agree that we've been very blessed. This year was especially nice because we were all together in person. No FaceTime needed! Mike and I got to hold both grandsons. No telling when that's going to happen again.
What a lovely gift to have held both grandsons this Christmas!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and as much good food and good fellowship as we had yesterday. The weather here was absolutely beautiful! (tho not 'seasonal' - very warm) We drove down to my Moms', visited, ate, opened presents, ate some more, sat out on the patio, then wallowed home with a full belly and a cooler full of leftovers... good times!
Wallowing home with a full belly sounds wonderful especially after enjoying such a warm family gathering.

You don't stop having fun because you get older....you get old because you stop having fun.....and I intend to be younger when I reach 90 than some I know.... who were old at 18....
Oh dear......I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up......and laughing a lot also keeps my tummy in shape!

I strongly suspect that your darling wife is the youngest one....I can't see her ever getting old on the inside...:)
So true....she is such a darling!!

As it always does, it took me back, way back .. it reminded me of old friends, records still in their spots, a source of lucid old memories .. I come from a Generation where the Record Store was where a young 16 year old could hang out and attempt to display their Musicology to a wizened shop Owner and at the same time, get educated on what was what as it related to the latest and the greatest .. in the mid to late 1950's and into the 1960's, these were the Mecca's of my Generation .. there were no Mega Stores, although you could catch a few records at the Woolworths .. we had listening booths, a constant flow of material we had never heard would be piped through the shop and I could not always afford to buy something, my friends and I would descend in and gleefully / reverentially thumb thru the racks, reading the sleeve notes .. it laid the basis for my self taught musical education, which stayed with me my entire life .. If it had not been for these amazing spaces, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison, Elvis, B.B. King, Johnny Cash and oh, so many others would never have existed .. "There are places I remember, all my life .. " .. and, oddly, the rest of the patrons thumbing the racks were your friends as well, for a brief time ..

When I did buy a record, there was nothing like getting it home, flipping on the record player, sliding the vinyl from the sleeve and dropping it on the turntable .. marveling at the luster of the pristine groove .. the lowering of the arm into the groove, knowing it's the first time this particular record had been played .. We had record collections back then

Other than a small resurgence of vinyl over the last few years, these old experiences have gone the way of so many things .. physical browsing replaced by a "Click for Similar Items" .. like an audio Big Mac ..

Oh the memories....a record store where I had my first charge account....where after catching a late night signal from a radio station from a far distance away and hearing a new song, I could rush in the next day and ask them to order it for me, sometimes requesting they order more than one copy and which friends to send to the listening booth with it....the upset over having a room mate move out and steal my record collection...
