Pat et al,

The most amazing, humbling and thankful aspect of Patty's surgery and recovery is that she never felt post-operative pain! In fact she's still wonders what all the 'fuss' was about at the time! Other than her being aware of her mental and physical subsequent limitations, she's been a true trooper; much like you, but without your numerous continued challenges.

I don't think I'm out of line in saying that I doubt ANYONE here has endured more than you. Some may have/had more pain for a while, but not at your level and duration.

I apologize to any porcher that I may have 'overlooked' and/or wasn't aware of. Due to our 'quasi-self-imposed' thread title(s), we do have so many here in their Autumn/Winter years that suffer silently and relentlessly.

Our collective heart goes out to each and every one that bear their own burdens alone...

Iffy, this is one of the sweetest posts I have ever read on ECF.

If more people showed this much kindness and empathy for the world and all its creatures it would be a better place to live.

Thank you

I'm a VERY unhappy camper right now. A few minutes ago I found a scorpion on a wall in my kitchen :shock::shock:. Apparently there are three species in Florida and their sting is not fatal but very painful and there is a lot of swelling at the sting spot.

Been living in this house three years and have never seen one before. I hope I never see one again.:shock::shock:

Hey Florida vapers, hAve you seen one in your house?
Never seen one here. only been here since 91, so... I guess there is still time. :D

Man I got so depressed last night I was taking it out on the dog the wife everything I touched. I just wanted to die, I even prayed for it in my sleep. I have been stuffing myself all day taking all this protein everything I can think of and nothing just stay the same the more I eat the more I crap is all that happens. I thought I was gaining a little but all I'm doing is holding. Started me thinking there is something else wrong with me but I don't know what. Ginny had the same operation and eats one meal a day and still gains weight. I'm just about to the end of my rope.

I'm getting plety of that but it sucks when your wife is stronger then you, she can beat me especially if she takes my legs away.
What makes a man is not how strong or athletic he is, but his strength in the face of adversity. You are the epitome of that.

I know a man with MS. He now has gender confusion-- I suspect that he overcompensated previously.

@2legsshrt: After much deliberation, I've come up with a plan.

1. Stay awake until your wife goes to sleep.
2. Wake her up.
3. Inform her that since you were already awake, she did not beat you up.
4. Prepare for the immediate commencement of your next beating.

And if she does beat you up, I am sure someone will soon be there to beat her up. I have come to the realization that some women are capable of spousal abuse.

Johnny is the best. Wish I could be that nice and caring all the time. Don't know how he does it sometimes with all he has on his plate.

Big Game tonight I hope they do it if the other guys play like Saturday they have a good chance. Just have to wait and see.
It's going to be a fun game to watch in any event, but... go Heels!

Since the Zags will be treated like heroes regardless of outcome, we can make everybody happy with a NC win.:toast:

NC's hero status is not so guaranteed should they end up 2nd best for a second consecutive year. On Tobacco Road, the expectations are always really high. :D The Tarheels lost to Villanova by virtue of a heartbreakingly fantastic buzzer-beater shot in last year's championship.

If destiny determines that Gonzaga is to be the victor, I hope them Bulldogs do it running away, by a significant margin.

Actually that's not true. I'd rather witness a thriller, win or lose, than see my team lose a game that's not close. Seeing my team win a laugher would be OK, but that seems like a really unlikely possibility in this case.

This sends me on a tangent, relating to the Buffalo Bills. I've never had any regard for those who are critical of the fact that they lost 4 consecutive Super Bowls. Losing 4 straight Super Bowls is a record, yes, but so is APPEARING in 4 straight Super Bowls.

Debadoooooooooooooo's back...
and then was gone again. Between rain pain and the new puppy, I haven't had much time for online. Trying to get caught up now. Still have about 15 pages to go, so will do these quotes then continue on. I had 28-3/4 pages yesterday that I was behind on if I mathed right. Of course we all know that is debatable. :D

Ya know, if I'd spend a little more time thinking than running, I could have invented Velcro when I was 7 years old. I dropped the cat on my father's bare back, and boy did he stick.
lol. my dad kind of invented the coffee pots with the timers on them. After he'd retired he decided to drive a school bus for awhile. Having to get up at 3 am he bought a light timer, and plugged the coffee pot into it. This was before they had the pots with timers on them. When he got up coffee was ready. I think he also did a spicy V-8 before V-8 came out with a spicy one. He always enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen, so he looked at ingredients on the can, and one year made and his wife canned his own V-8 and he did 1/2 of them spicy. They came out pretty good.

I was reading Pet Sematary and in the book, the cat returns as the main protagonist is sitting at the table and the cat rubs against his leg. I was sitting on the couch and as I am reading this my girlfriend's cat crawls out from under the couch and rubs against my leg. The book went one direction and I went the other. I swear the cat was smiling when I finally returned to the couch after my heart slowed down.
lmao! Many years ago when Carrie was in the theater, a friend's husband did kinda the same to her. He'd seen the movie, then went back to the theater and took her. She said when the hand came up out of the grave, he reached over and grabbed her hand.........she let out a blood curdler, and cussed him up one side and down the other.

A second grade teacher was having trouble with one of her students. One day, she asked Jimmy what his problem was. He replied, “I’m too smart for the second grade, my sister is in the fourth grade, and I’m smarter than her too.”

The teacher took him to the principal’s office and explained the situation to the principal. The principal told her that he would give Jimmy a test. If he failed to answer one question, then he would have to go back to the second grade and be quiet. The teacher and Jimmy both agreed.

Principal: “What is 3 x 3?”

Jimmy: “9.”

Principal: “6 x 6?”

Jimmy: “36.”

And so it went on like this, the principal asked him every question a fourth grader should know. Finally, after about an hour, he told the teacher “I see no reason why Jimmy can’t go to the fourth grade, he answered all of my questions right.”

The teacher asked if she could ask him some questions. The principal and Jimmy agree.

Teacher: “What does a cow have 4 of that I only have 2 of?”

Jimmy: “Legs”

Teacher: “What do you have in your pants that I don’t have?”

The principal gasps but before he can stop him from answerin gJimmy says, “Pockets.”

Teacher: “What does a dog do that a man steps into?”

Jimmy: “Pants.”

Teacher: “What starts with F and ends with K and means a lot of excitement?”

Jimmy: “Firetruck.”

The principal breaths a big sigh of relief and says “Put Jimmy in the fourth grade. I got the last 4 questions wrong myself.”
I've heard that before but had forgotten it. Seems like the one I heard was a sunday school version though, not sure. It's a good'un.

PSA: Matt asked me to let y'all know he misses ya! He's "laying low" and just 'bout free of da oxy.

No known heart issues thus far, although he's awaiting a few test results from his previous doctor before a conclusive BoH.

Miss ya, Matt! C'mon back here when you're up to it...
Very glad to hear he's ok and nearly off the oxy. Thanks for the update!

You need a relaxative.

Hux is doing spectacularly well. He's got a big open incision in his belly that evidently he doesn't know about. He kicks and moves and rolls around just like normal. Do babies not have nerves down there? You'd think at least his muscles would hurt. Nada. He's so squirmy it's easier to have 2 people change his diaper because they have to put absorbable padding in that spot and then put the regular diaper over it. And the surprise of the day yesterday was his 1st tooth coming in!!

Yay for little bro! Pictures! We need pictures!
that's wonderful to hear! Had Mike's update quoted, but yours had more info so went with this one. So very happy to hear he's doing so well. and yay! for his first tooth!

Re drip tips, the ones baby bear uses are too small (smaller than a cigarette), the ones papa bear uses are too large, and the ones that mama bear uses are just right.

I found a dance partner whose style I relate to. Enjoy.

absolutely loved the dance. Had it quoted from the vid, but switched the quote to this one. I thought I was subbed to your channel, but this made me check and I wasn't, but am now. I had been thinking it would be nice to have a video of just you dancing, and as I read a bit further, there it was. Thanks :) I do enjoy the scenery when I have time, but when I don't I usually scroll to the dancing. Really love seeing you move with such joy and abandon!

I've been kinda poorly for a while
hope you're feeling better, or will be soon.

Get better, Lady! I've been puny for a few days, too. I've got to motivate myself & go grocery shopping , pharmacy, & PO. Ugh.

No dissenting votes makes it unominous.
I see what you did there ;)

I saw them in the late 1970s at Rutgers... or maybe it was AC DC... or maybe it was at The Meadowlands... or maybe it was The Police... or maybe it was the early 1980s... or maybe it was ELO... I remember it well.
roflmao! this is how many of my conversations go! I'd worry about talking/thinking like me if I were you :D

Digital photography:
Tied with the Internet and GPS for the greatest invention ever.
Those are great, but I think I'd opt for electricity, TP, maybe a few others.

my latest is Rogue Heroes by Ben MacIntyre. It is about the SAS, Britain's Secret Special Forces.
that sounds good

I'm having a great time with Twisted Hobbys 39" Foamy airplane I posted about last week. Four crashes and four repairs in 4 days. They're so easy to fix, lov'n it! "If you ain't crash'n, you ain't try'n hard enough" they say. I'm all in.
Good job then!! :D

Thankfully, I took advantage and do not foresee, in my near future, duplicating my feeble failing attempts at 'coil wrapping/wicking'. If it comes to dat, I do know where to go...
that gorgeous woodvil just sitting there. Have you found the Rm2? If so, I'll gladly make you some coils and send em to ya. Either kanthal or SS wire. There is nothing to wicking the Rm2. Just let me know what ohms ya want.

I think this guy-- who has a reality show on the subject, finances much of his patients' expenses from the revenue from the show. Meet My 600-Lb Life’s Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, gastric bypass surgeon extraordinaire They certainly aren't the kind of people who would have good insurance or family resources.

He even does reversals.
I've watched those quite a bit for the same reason you mentioned. I had wondered how many of those folks afforded all that he does, and wondered if the show paid for some or all of it. I didn't know he did reversals though.

Good morning Porchers ... any one heard from our Little Bird lately?
I haven't for some time. Last time was when I texted her. She's been going through a rough time. She pulls away when going through a bad time. I don't know whether to contact her or leave her be. I want her to know we're thinking of her and love her, but don't want to push her.

Just finished one of the most fascinating 53 minutes of viewing pleasure... ORIGAMI REVOLUTION !
that link said it had been removed, but I found this one......is it the same? I've always been fascinated by origami.

I was gonna say we need more info, but you did provide more. Glad y'all are trying to keep your spirits up. ((((((((Russell)))))))))))))

Long story short, we did not have any of the storms here where I live. The storms were East and South of us. I am not sorry about missing the strong winds and hail that were predicted. But it is Springtime in Oklahoma so I would rather be prepared than caught without having things in order.
that piece of mind is priceless! and for @DancingHeretik too

Hey if you want to see a good show on what we go through with our prescriptions which is very close to what vapers are going through also. It is a real eye opener. On Netflix called"Dr.Feel Good". Check it out and see if you don't think this is the same thing as vaping is for us, for people with Chronic Pain and see if you don't think this is more govt BS.
pulled that up and put it in my list.

Ok, now off to read the other 15 pages I'm behind, plus whatever else y'all post before I catch up :D

As for me, I go in Thursday to have the nerves in my spine burned in 3 places. Hopefully that will alleviate a great deal of the pain. They say it can last anywhere between 6 months and 2 years, but it's typically around 8 months. They'll do it on the right side, then we'll see about the left if it works well for the right. Short of replacing discs which they can't do, even surgery won't help.
