When I worked at the vet clinic only about a quarter of the chipped dogs that were turned in to us had updated phone numbers on file. People forget to do it. :( But I bet you're right @2legsshrt about her being dumped.
Tell me bout this chippin business. Frankie is chipped, but my son said that they charge a monthly fee to keep it active in the database which they can't do right now. Would a vet still have access to it or not? Is that just to update your addy and phone number etc? He's also got a tag on his collar with his name, the addy is wrong now, but the phone # is still the same.

Get this our neighbors the wifes mother and father, father got tired of taking care of the mother and dropped her off on their doorstep and sends them $500 a month to take care of her. She's not that bad a few memory problems but hey we all have that she gets around real good for 80. They'd been married almost 45+years and he doesn't even come to visit. Lives in Oregon.
That is absolutely horrible!! It's one thing if he's just not physically able to do it and they make that arrangement between all of em, but that sounds like he just didn't care at all.

She said the dog is really sweet and follows her everywhere, She ate and drank and is curled up under a blankie on the couch next to her with her dogs nose out of joint a little. The German Shorthair is her usual mellow takes anything instride self. The little one doesn't like that her dog wants to play with any dog he sees and this one doesn't care for that and nips at him. Oh well she will do something with her that won't include getting her put down. She's going to keep her in the kennel she had for her dog till he got trustworthy enough to have the run of the house like the big girl. He's a real goofball. He looks like a cross between a German Shepherd and a Dachshund. Funny little guy, his best friend is a 5 year old Doberman. It's funny they are best of friends he belongs to one of the other wives whose husband does the same thing as hers in the same place.

It sounds like she is much better off where she is!

Well, I think I might have to go to the Dr....I've been having unusual symptoms for the last few days .....heart thumping hard, sweating profusely on n off, a higher than normal temp., some sorta acheiness in the "private" area....
but what is so strange is it only happens when I'm reclining in my recliner watching tv.... in particular one show that I sorta stumbled on, on Amazon, called Extant....Halle Berry starred and produced it and I've only been watching it because there was a certain actor in it,( but not till the second( and last) season)

Wait..maybe there's a correlation here....
Does a private area have to salute to a general area?

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

Dat's just not right without prior arrangement and agreement!

One of the cutest, funniest personality dogs I've seen was a german shepherd corgi mix. He was on a Caesar Millan show. He was adorable and a total goofball in looks and personality. Goofball dogs are some of the best ones to have. But I've googled the mix, and didn't find any as cute as he was.

Need a dog Deb she's in Texas
Already answered this, but ya missed it. I know not everyone reads my novels. lol See below

that's horrible!! Sorry the chip didn't work out. Is she going to keep her, or what? Sure hope she can find a home if not. I'll talk to the kids about her when they get home, maybe tomorrow, but not holding my breath. All of us want another dog, except my son, and he's only concerned about finances with him being in school now, and rightly so. Vet bills do get expensive. Not as much income now, and not a good idea to take on another critter.

Well the chip hasn't been updated for 2 years and the phone number was a guy that said he has had several calls and he doesn't have a dog. I'll bet someone dumped her. People are so cruel sometimes.
That's terrible!

Some of the places really think they have something special and charge $30+ for 30ml plus if you live in PA $12 tax.
The only ones worth anything near that IMO are the ones made with real liquors. Even if they just steep them in the barrels the liquors were aged in & pick up the flavor that way. Worth it because it is such an extensive & prolonged process, & the juices are soooooo delicious!

She could divorce him & take her half of absolutely everything & tell him good riddance! Bet he's not thinking about that possibility.

I think she is happy where she is and he gave them his motorhome also. He's been living in it for 8 years a 2006 37'with 3 slideouts. He's been the manager of an RV park and decided not to do that or they retired him at any rate he doesn't need it anymore so they went and got it. Shes been living with them for 3+years. Sounds like she is better off and the state pays them also and they can use it. She goes everywhere with her cause she can't leave her alone too long she's afraid she might fall.

It depends on which microchip company it is. But most of them charge the fees for extras that no one really needs but they dont delete the chip info from their database if the pet owner doesnt buy the extras. The one we used at the clinic (Home Again) told us that once the microchip is entered in the database it stays there forever regardless. I would suggest contacting your specific chip compsny and ask their policy.

When a dog or cat is microchipped thr client is given some paperwork that includes a Way to access the pet's account at that microchip company so the client can update the contact info.

If you all dont have that paperwork, (you lost it or adopted a pet that is already chipped but came without the paperwork) you contact the microchip company. Most of them have a policy for that. At Home Again they need to try to contact the owner. If that owner doesnt respond to them, then they register the chip to you.

At least that's what their policy was up to 2.5 years ago when I retired.

Deb you can go to any Walmart or Petsmart and they have this machine by the front where you can make a dog tag right there. Costs about $5 and you can engrave it and there are a few designs to pick from.

Well heres the latest on Mama if that's her name Alyssa said she is totally housebroken. She slept in her cage all night and went out with the other dogs this AM and when she came back in went right back in her cage herself and laid down. She said she would be perfect for anyone who wanted a cuddly little dog. This is her this morning.
