Haven't seen the meteor one yet. I pretty much hate the Ally Bank ads. I do like the "Chaos" ads for Allstate though. At least I think it was chaos. Pretty funny, specially the one with the foam fingers.

I like the Mayhem commercials. Some of the Farmers insurance ads are cute, expecially the one where the dog bumps the faucet and the living room floods. People come down to see the dogs water dancing! Love that one!

My first real PC was a Leading Edge Model D. 8088 processor at 4.7mhz. 640k memory (actually had 1MB ram used a TSR to access the additional ram),

I remember the Leading Edge model D! I really wanted one too - had some better features than the XT.

So did Janet when I first met her.

I first met my wife 'on the job' too. The company she worked for called me to fix a crashed work PC - turned out to be hers. She was using Wordstar and Lotus 1-2-3 on a really small hard drive. Doing some file clean-up at the end of the day, she unknowingly deleted 'command.com', so it wouldn't boot the next morning. I booted it from a DOS 3.1 floppy, copied 'command.com' back to the HD, rebooted from the HD, and all was well. When I picked her up for our first date, she told her mom "I'm going to marry him" while I was in the bathroom. Her little brother heard her, and promptly told me what she'd said. I didn't say anything, but thought "Yeah, right".... at that point, I was a 33yo confirmed bachelor with no intention of ever getting married.... welllll...

Noticed no one has mentioned da 8" floppies...

I thought about mentioning the 8"ers, but figured everyone had had enough of my drivel for one day! At the Radio Shack were I worked, we used a TRS-80 Model 16 w/ two 8" floppy drives for the store accounting. One FDD for the program, the other for the data.

Alessondra's OKC Great Horned Owl-Cam......has just gone live

If you're not familiar with the back story for this cam, I invite you to look for Alessondra's FB page.....it all started a few years ago, with a very young girl rushing downstairs to tell her Daddy there was an owl outside her window...:)

There's a Volvo TV ad with lines from a Walt Whitman poem: "Afoot and lighthearted I take to the open road..."

I thought the guy reading the poetry was John Corbett, the DJ on the TV series Northern Exposure. But no, it's Josh Brolin.

Anyway, since when is car travel "afoot"? I demand logic from TV commercials and my demands are seldom met.

I'm not sure if the pic shown on the fb page showing one egg last night was from this year....if the new female is young that's all there may be this year. I too have watched this cam from the very first and was broken hearted when someone shot and killed Mrs. T, the female, a few months ago. So happy that Mr. T has found a new mate and guided her to this safe nesting place...
