At the moment, we have a twister moving up twix us/our three daughters. Don't know the intensity, but so far we're in the green at Iffy Casa. At least the regional alerts are doing a grand job tracking it! Actually it's now tracking twix us and my youngest daughter's home.

Positive hope and prayers for those in it's path! Holding our breath that this is the tail end of the very active front...

Cindy, keep tracking. Our twister was heading south to north along US 41!!!

The panhandle got hit pretty hard...

And thanx, Gracie, for asking!
@NCC is in the panhandle! Praying for you all. We've had windstorms all weekend.

We had a couple hours under Tornado Warning. One of them passed a few miles to the east of my location. It was near enough that I could hear the sound of the vortex in the distance as it moved from my southeast to my northeast. Fortunately, it was traveling over mostly unpopulated woodland.

Spooky found all of the flying debris and animated trees to be fascinating. :~)

Excerpts from local TV coverage.

Beautiful kitty! We've been having wind like that but not much rain. We had a couple of quick thunderstorms move thru yesterday & early today. Mostly gusty winds tho.

Well, I had another nephew get married yesterday. They live here, but returned to Colorado, where their families are, for the wedding. My youngest sister & her son went. He was a groomsman. He went skiing on Friday & flipped a few times & broke his glasses. And his arm. Up close to the shoulder where it can't be casted. He's the nephew that is an RN. Hecs been getting yuge grief from everyone on FB. It's hilarious! None of us has broken anything in a couple of generations, but I was constantly spraining something. He broke himself & our record.

In other news, I got a scale to try mixing by weight. At some point this week I'll stop looking at it & give it a try.

Hate that commercial because I think the poem stinks.

Hey, we all have those times. Allow yourself a little time to wallow and then read Zen Knitters post. In fact, print it out and read it when you need to. Very wise and truthful. (Then remind me of this when I'm in the pits)

Wouldn't a smaller daily dose be better than a mega dose once a week? Seems to me it's better to get a little sun each day rather than getting a sunburn once a week.

Excellent advice!

Dang, I had no idea. Brought tears to my eyes, that my rambling might help someone. It is sad, that in life, one needs to experience pain to have empathy..

Well heres a pic of the new ones along with the phone app that I can make adjustments on. It's going to take a little getting used to they have way more motion and more of your foot stays on the ground when you walk. I'll have to say so far I like them better. Once I get them set the way I like best then I will go in and he can set them to that which will put all my settings to 0 like you see but they will actually have my configuration. I can make changes up to 10% he can make more. I think they are going to be fantastic once I get them set perfectly for me which is hard to do when you can't go outside and try them walking on uneven ground. They look a lot heavier then they are it is a carbon fiber housing for the electronic and battery. You'll have to zoom in yourself to get a better look at them. Will do a video when it thaws out here enough to see how they move. Ginny couldn't believe the way they move like real ankles.

Oh so happy for you!!! Now you just gotta be patient. You know the adage, gotta walk before you can run. Practice in the house is a good thing! I once had to retrain my balance system, used multiple sized pillows in the long hall (where I had walls to catch me) dozens of them, to relearn uneven ground. Might be a thought.

It's really strange they feel like I'm walking on cushion in a good way. it did say that it takes less energy to do things

I know your right and one of our neighbors always says just call us if you need some help but it really still bothers me. I feel just like you sometimes hollering at God why me. For me Kenna is right this weather really gets to me at times, now we are supposed to warm up for a while long enough they are putting out flood advisories in town. Out here it will run down the hill to the lake and the other parts of the US with this ice storm. I'm hoping we avoid that. They had one here 20 or so years ago that knocked the power out for 2-3 weeks. It's supposed to thaw and rain for a couple of days and then freeze again. Still a lot of people not as lucky as me.

Oh hell Leggs give them a gift of being good souls! You give your share here, and I'm sure elsewhere as well. Just so bloody happy for your new tootsies!

begin part 2 :D

So glad you did and glad to see ya posting! Hope you'll do so a lot more often! Never be concerned about posting here!

nermal I think beat me to it, but I was also gonna mention how little difference there is nutritionally between white and plain wheat bread. My son thought wheat was so much more healthy til I read him the labels. And jup, whole grain is another story. When we were in Fla, Seapeach had millet bread. She got hers from a bakery but wow that stuff was sooooooo good, and supposed to be pretty healthy as far as bread goes.

So sorry you have to deal with that hun. Is this a temp thing? Did she say how long?

Glad you're feeling better, and Jup, Kenna was spot on about the weather affecting you. But Zen nailed it. Everyone has things they need help with as we get older, and some more than others. Folks get a blessing from helping others that really need it, and if you don't accept it, you rob them of a blessing. You can tell me if I'm way off base here, but it seems like you gotta let go of the anger hun......either at yourself, or the doc or both. I really think that is at the root of the depression about it.

I've always loved him too, but of course way more back in the early days.

lmao........jup!!

My sil lived with me in the late 80s, or early 90s, and had one that looked just like that, but it was, I dunno, apple, compaq, commodore, something like that

Do you mind if I ask what kind of testing you finally got them to do? I believe I am hypo-thyroid, but TSH comes back ok, one time was only 1 pt within normal limits, but I forget which end. I know there is a TSH panel, but they wouldn't do that. You can pm if you'd rather, or just completely ignore my question if it's too invasive. :)

what I don't get is, what does it matter WHICH quarter she pulls outta there.

Love this ad! Wish real life followed it more.

I am kickin myself for finally tossing a bunch I had, there are a lotta things you can make with them craft wise if you were so inclined.

Jup Jup Jup.......love TCM. I don't always think to do it, but when I do......I go through about a week of it, and record a lot of movies! Just did that earlier this week.

I'm so sorry darlin. I can relate. I've had this happen a few times when I fell and was alone. It truly does leave you feeling helpless, hopeless, and very vulnerable. One time I'd gotten outta the shower to go to the bedroom to get something I'd forgotten...... I was used to carpeting and being able to do that, but this time was at my son and dil's house. I didn't account for the slick laminate flooring. Down I went in a skinny place between two walls... legs and of course knees twisted in ways they were never meant to. So now I'm alone, injured and nekkid! Being overweight made it that much more difficult. Under normal circumstances the only way I can get up off the floor is to scoot backwards to something and use my arms to get me up onto that something.....like a couch. In this case it was the bathtub which really scared me since it was slick. The bed was too high.

that was really fascinating!

I love the Marco Polo one, but the ASPCA ones rip at my heart and make me angry! I don't wanna see that number one, and number two, I doubt they're getting free air time......and I swear those commercials are 3 minutes long! Dunno how long they are, but they seem to go on forever! I have to turn it off also.

that's kinda neat in a weird way. :D

oh please don't send it this way! I can't get the weather app on the phone to update, I'm sure cuz of the internet issues I'm having so dunno what our forecast is like. Hope you and Scooter and any others up there don't get hit as hard as they say you will. Really hopin y'alls power stays on. Sterno is in an apt with nothing to help him if the power goes out.

soooooooo glad you have yur new ankles and like em so far! I just hope there is never a software glitch that has you doin the quick step without yur permission! :p

@Debadoo thanks for your concern Hun! Don't mind at all. The thyroid testing was a more advanced form of TSH testing. Really didn't checkout the lab slip at the lab. But I would insist on more through testing. I'm still adjusting to everything, see my doc in 2weeks, and expect he will up my meds again. All good. Currently I'm taking my diabetes and thyroid meds once daily, in my learned opinion I need to up them to twice daily, to get anywhere. Lol.

Well it hit a high of 10 today down to 6 now.
OK here she goes again. Pat check out Costco on line they sell light boxes for seasonal affective disorder. Sit in front of the light for 30 minutes for a full boost of the sunshine vit. My doc used to practice in Washington state and told me everyone there needs the light, but was surprised how many Californians did as well. All I can say is it is very mood enhancing.

It's very good in Tazo ginger & lemongrass tea over ice. Very lemonaidish.
I'm thinking maybe I'll just eat more pickles.

Scary! But, cool video!

I keep hearing how much easier it is by weight. But, it's so foreign. Let us know how it goes.

Did you hear that, Pat?
