It was nearly as nasty up here in the Panhandle, but we only got to the low 70s. Oh, how I'm dreading summer.

The last time I was in Oregon I got a light sunburn that I wouldn't have suffered here in Florida, because the heat would've driven me indoors before I was overexposed. It was August, back home the temperatures were in the mid 90s. Meanwhile, on the coast of Oregon it was in the mid 60s. I was in heaven! Hope I get to return some day.

Below is Toketee Falls, Oregon. It's nearly 100 miles inland, east of Coos Bay. But it's still cool, in both senses of the word. West Oregon is a place where it's difficult to take a bad picture. And a day hot enough to make you sweat is as rare as a hard freeze where I live now.

If it weren't for A/C, the population of Florida would rapidly shrink, probably to 25% of what it is now.

I hope someone enjoys the photos.
Here's a video ... though I doubt anyone will watch the full thang.

Gorgeous! Oregon has the most beautiful coastline I've ever seen. Your video could be sold as one of those relaxing tapes! And yes, I did watch the whole thing. Wouldn't it have been great to have been out in a boat among them?

Well that doesn't sound too bad but with Ginny the doc said she needs to quit smoking what is legal here which she does once a day before dinner so she will get an appetite. She's been doing it for years and only does a little before dinner. So of course it showed up in the UA and the doc says it puts her at high risk whatever that means. I mean she has been doing it for years. She has to see the pain management guy and another UA in 3 months. This could be tough for her she has done it for so long.

Yes, she should ask the doc what he means by it putting her at high risk. Risk for what?

Finished my latest project. This one I'm trading to the pool guy for a month's worth of pool service.

I got the leaves by NOT taking the bark away. just stripped off the rest, and did a loose removal... More toward the top and less toward the bottom.
Then I used walnut stain... took most of that off, then Honey Oak stain... and the stick is lighter at the top and darker at the bottom. All with a nice rustic look.
I told my guy that if his grandpa don't want it to just bring it back :)

Wow, that's beautiful! What nice work you do! How long did it take to make it?

the wild strawberry is inawera
I see that I bet my strawberry would work good also. Those creams sound good the Russian Peach is too weak but the strawberry is strong. I made a batch at 1% and it is still a little strong. Matt don't like it at all but I think it tastes just like fresh strawberries bet at .5 would be good.

Yep when we first got married when it was affordable to do so we got a room at a place that the deck was right on the beach and it had a fireplace in it. It was so cool and like $40 a night.
This was at I think it was called Gold Coast Oregon.

They almost looked like some of the Kobe beef I've seen on TV.

You find any good add-on for that Kobe ... oh wait, Kobe ... not Kodi.

Those and 1/2" wrenches.

Yepper, dey should sell 'em a doz at a time. Back when, I'd heat/bend 'em 75-80 degrees fer distributor plate lock down bolts; and den shortly thereafter lose 'em...

Finished my latest project.

SWEET! Think we discussed canes/walking sticks in da past. I'll just say I have a fond appreciation fer 'em. And ya did one hellava FINE job again!!

That's beautiful Ken... If I lived close to you, I'd service your pool for a month in exchange for that!!!

A few days ago, I thought about posting pics of my latest favorite stick, but yours puts mine to shame!
