Wish I lived in your neighborhood. I'd adopt one o' dose lil' sno-balls!

I admire foster parents of furries! Must be tough to nurture and then 'let go'...
Hardest thing ever! I cry every time. The only thing harder is knowing they will die in the shelter if you do not agree to house them, vet them and then release them when it is time. I do not do the Home Finding, I just do the fostering and then turn them over to an official Rescue that will find the homes. That is why it is important to support the work of Rescue's when you go to get a pet. Some people do not know the difference in a Rescue and the shelter. Shelter's are city or county run and all stray animals end up there. Rescue's are non profit groups that pull from shelters and vet and then find homes. You will see Rescue's in Petsmarts and such. None of them believe in breeding.
I will say it is also FUN, because, if like me, you enjoy watching kittens play, you will get a few weeks of this but not have to be bound to the life time of the pet. I have three pets of my own, 2 cats and a dog who will be with me for their life but I sure love the entertainment of puppies and kittens.

The hammocks were first designed by me to help with shelter cats. See pic 4. Cats that had to be in cages all day. When I started to foster I set up 3-4 cages in my garage and eventually put hammocks in. easy to hang on the wire cages. I started out using old pillow cases. People then started to donate material to me. I made them for all the local shelters and the rescue's I work with. I have one huge cage for mother and babies and it makes a place for mom to get away to that the kittens cannot get to. As the kittens get older I put 2-3 hammocks in and nothing funner than watching the busy babies swing and jump from one hammock to another like a bunch of monkeys

Joes hammock came about because he loves the front porch and I wanted a way for him to be able to rest in one. It never really suited him and he never lays there but did give it a go for my sake (and for the pic)

Joe is good, Naps a lot. He will be used to let these little ones get to know bigger cats, as in he will allow them to come so close and then hiss in their face. He would never harm one but he will teach lessons about cat warning signals. I have a dog Daphne that thinks she is a cat foster and always partakes in raising baby kittens.

Really like the hammock on the porch as well as the rest of the pic's you posted. Good work you're doing for the rescues ... kudos to you for your devotion, time and effort.

Our cats are indoor cats but they sure like looking out the glass doors. When the sun comes through the windows they love laying in the sun spot. So, eventually I built them their own low 'cozy' table do they could get comfy and look out the window.

That sounds really interesting. Recipe?
I agree! Recipe please!

Just take YOUR fav tater salad recipe and replace da taters wid similar sized raw cauliflower florets. Beware, it's good fer ya AND taste great. Bon appetite!

Oh, BTW, don't chop da florets; lovingly break 'em into mini-florets fer max chef flair/ego. Da course stems make a great soup addition later on...

Just am not looking forward to a diet for both diverticulosis and acid reflux. Lots of fiber, no spicy stuff, no coffee. I don't know how bad she will lay the law down to me, so I am going to enjoy sweets and spices and coffee for as long as I can.
hoping it won't be too bad, but if they say no coffee, ask about cold press, because it really cuts out most if not nearly all the acid!

Try cooked cauliflower instead of potatoes. You can grate it if it's raw & it works as a mashed potato substitute, too.

Jup! Forgot about that, we've done it with both fresh and frozen and it works great either way

Turnips, too.
I love raw turnips, but can't stand em cooked. Been asking the kids to get me some turnips for awhile now, but son always says he can't find em.

That's the highest I've been with it so far - 163 ft. There was a very stiff wind and to say I was delightfully surprised at the ability of it to keep itself in place is an understatement!

When the drizzle turned into drops, I hit the 'return to home' button. It took itself to my preset RTH altitude, 50 meters, flew itself to directly over me, descended to within ~6 of where it took off, and gently landed itself.

Thrilled? Giddy? Who me? :D
Sooooooooo happy for you!!! Glad you're so tickled with yur new hobby! But you are gonna be so broke now. lol Nice your wife got a 1/2 day off too.

Good to have hobbies. I rescue cats, mostly moms with babies. I also make Jewelry, mostly bracelets for females in Recovery.
That is incredible what you do for both the cats and the ladies. Love the hammocks!! If it were up to me, I would like to foster for dogs. I'm so not a cat person. It's great your cat gives em lessons to socialize them. Adult critters can teach the babies so much better and more than we can.

Well Ginny made Spaghetti last night and no problem. Using canned plain Spaghetti sauce onions mushrooms and the good burger from Costco. Really like the organic burger from Costco. There was poison gas in the bedroom but only once or twice.
lmao......hope ya didn't end up sleepin on the recliner or in the RV

I start out with a good canned sauce, but I add stuffs.

didn't think there was any such thing as a good canned sauce. lol Unless you're also including jarred. I used to start with a jar and add stuff, but finally just starting using just mater sauce and adding more stuff. Same stuff, just more of it. Cheaper and better to me. Most of the jars use too much oregano for me, since I'm not a huge fan of that. I just add more basil.

There ya go Gary. And it still amazes me how you "Single Handedly Destroy the English Language"
or improves it! :D
