I do seed steeping. Use larger bottles. Mix up a bottlefull, steep it, use it up halfway, then add the ingredients for a half-bottle, and shake it good, ready to go.

A couple of visitors at the pond today, guess they're on their way back North.

They don't go north anymore, they are here year around. They sublet the Osprey nest in the Spring till the Osprey come back and evict them. Usually they are done with it by then. The babies have about a 25' first step rough incoming to the world.

We have a sizable flock down here dat are year-round residents anymore. Also, our native Ospreys will not tolerate subleasing to dem CGs at all!

Yep tomorrow is a holiday in DC. Haha they get a lot of those life is a holiday for most politicians there.

Well I gotta take my new VA glasses back. This kid that did the Rx changed mine and he said that anyone over 65 he adds +2.5 on the bottoms and they almost make me sick to my stomach. Makes everything look taller and the magnification is too much for me. It's a shame cause I really like the transitions but I tried to wear them all day and I had to go back to my old ones.

I know what you mean...I had to take back a new pair of glasses that I only had for a few weeks...I was more blind wearing them than my old ones!

Service in just about anything anymore is poor most of the time.

Right? Some say the home is where you make it and I agree contentment can be found in many places but for me home is where the heart is; that's why I am in Arkansas, so many great childhood memories here. Doesn't hurt that it's absolutely gorgeous here either.

I have always wished to go back home. Once you settle in another state and raise kids there you are kind of stuck. Then comes the years of being torn. Half your family on one coast, half on the other. You want to be in two places. Always torn. My mom got sick in August and passed in Sept. I went home. Great childhood friends right there with me. It is like it always was. Nothing like those bonds of the friends that knew you as kids. This is where I want to spend the next chapter of my life.

Burbank? Yikes. I used to love going to LA when I was a kid in the 50's it was really cool back then. My Aunt and Uncle lived there we'd go for Christmas. Man houses are expensive there now.

Yes they are. I inherited 2/3's of one. I bought the other 1/3 and now will have a mortgage again for the first time in 10 years. Not loving that but It will be worth it

Exactly what stopped me from going home years ago. People are paying 2-3k in property taxes. Here is the beauty in all of this. Because it was transferred to me as a "parent to child transfer" I will inherit my moms property taxes (Prop 58) of about $700 a year. AND THEN, another great thing, I can take those property taxes with me to another house in CA (proposition 60/90) as long as it is in one of the counties that participates and Los Angeles county does. I just have to buy another house that is cheaper than the one I sell. (cannot upgrade) It was like too good an opportunity to pass up.
