So there is really nothing we can talk about except Netflix,, Amazon, Hulu and such. Pretty much anything we talk about there how about if we called it X, SF, Z, SD and such? Could stand for anything.
which one is SD?
How many of you have FB. I was looking around there and it is simple to set up a Closed Group, we'd need some admins to approve the members when they want to join. I'm only friends with a very few ECFers but we could talk about anything we wish. It would be a slight hassle to open another Forum and impossible for those who don't want to use FB but its a thought.
i'd be fine with that, I still think due to the constantly changing nature and things getting removed/shut down it's a good thing to keep some kind of a discussion going. but the porch threads move too fast for me to keep up with... also there is a thread about this on a different forum where you won't have to pick your words carefully. still think this is more than a little bit silly/paranoid/.....

I use FB Pat ... I'd join you over there in a private/closed group. I manage a 'Page' and 'Group' on FB for our fishing club ... might could give you some help if you start one.

Shelly has lost all but 15% of her pancreas. What happens next is anyone's guess

Best wishes and prayers!

Today, I went ahead and turned a set of wood blanks and put a Slimline pencil together. I made the body a bit fatter and it isn't too bad.

Lovely!

I know & I understand the reasoning behind it, I don't agree it's necessary but I do get it, I was just mentioning that as a 'I guess we'll have to discuss this someplace else' type of thing.

Well The Geek Squad has control of my other computer. I went to update my Kaspersky and it wouldn't take the key like it should kept giving me already in use. So they have to do something that takes between 45min to 2hrs. Probably watching my porn right now. Not really have never even tried to look at that stuff. Not my bag.
do you got windows 10? if so you can use windows defender for free once your Kaspersky is up. I just use that with Malwarebytes, but only bc years ago I paid some flat fee to get the pro, or w/e for life.

if someone does end up doing a group on fb lmk first, before adding me or w/e... I think I tried to make it so I couldn't get added to any more or something. back when people were going crazy with the constant vaping groups... my fb link should be in m profile on here.

also I forgot to mention, windows defender will perfectly adequately prevent viruses, it's all maintained and designed by windows and leaves an almost nonexistent footprint. if you want some extra protection from some of the more common ones like small malware/spyware, if you think you need it, Malwarebytes does that better than anything else, it does leave a bigger footprint than defender but it's less than most antivirus. used to be they had a thing where you paid a flat fee to have it for life, I think they still might do that a couple of times a year.

Sorry to hear that Russell. Sometimes it seems like you catch a break and then something else happens. Thats the way it seems to me for my life. I really hope this works out for her.

Yeah I just re upped my Kaspersky so I have a little less then a year of it left. Seems to work really well for using your CC and everything else and works in the background, you never even know it's there except for things like CC. It recognizes you are using it and it takes you to a safe browser to use it. Still goes through perfectly but it does make it secure.

'all can write down Wiseguy Dave's meticulously calculated method for determining bottle contents.
Should've Yesterday when I was doing vape stuff I found a 100ml bottle full of some flavor. I had it marked for 100mg nic but used it to make a flavor. Guess I'll have to try it out. I have a Tugboat that I have used maybe 3 times perfect for that I think it still has a coil in it also.

Wow, you really are set up nice!
Yeah it is all old stuff that I had set up just didn't use. I did buy a 24" smart tv that I use for a monitor up there also. Which makes it really nice for these old eyes. I had delusions of spending a lot of time up there but really I don't. Sooooo it is a nice set up. I messed around for a couple hours yesterday. The computer is not superfast and the internet is not as good as downstairs but hey it works great for listening to music I like and dinking around with vape gear. I do that a lot, get great ideas and follow through with getting it set up then don't use it lose interest for a while.

Thats incase you guys haven't noticed that about me. I think there is a name for that, hey probably even a pill for that.

Hmmmm It would be nice to have our own group. Alot of the others every one uses every swear word available in the English lanquage and get into big arguments resulting in name calling and everything else. It would be nice just to have our friends from here.

Remember, the harder it is for you to see into the bottle, the harder it is for the sun to see into the bottle.
Yep, precisely. That's why beer bottles are amber, for example.

Y'all can write down Wiseguy Dave's meticulously calculated method for determining bottle contents. I'll wait while you go get a pen or pencil.... ready?.... here it is:

Take off the lid.... invert the bottle.... when nothing comes out, it's empty.
And, coincidentally, that's precisely how I check my beer bottles! Wiseguy Dave is a wise man!!!:D

Read it and like I said there I may not agree with it but hey this is ECF and it is what it is and I love it for that. There are other places to go for the other stuff. I'm flexible sort of. You guys are the admins and can decide what is OK and what is not. This isn't a democracy and thats ok, I can still come and visit with friends.

yeah I just mention that bc cybersecurity is what I do and back in college when I used to fix macs/pc at circuit city/micro center/best buy (before geek squad) I had seen so many computers that had similar errors in the event log and they always had Kaspersky or McAfee. personaly on my gaming laptop and desktop rig I only use defender and keep an eye on it... no matter what crap happens, once it gets to your registry it's really best to write zero's and have a clean install. I do that like 2x a year usually.

oh and yeah *mb* will prevent you from me providers etc. in kodi, if this is on a htpc you'll have to keep adding a bunch of exclusions or turn

I was actually discussing this with a guy at work, we've seen so much of the same adware/spyware lately and so much of this stuff is very rudimentary and easily dealt with by an antivirus, except if you don't have one... then you have the suspicious link between how fast these things are popping up, and how the definitions update to include them so fast. idk maybe it's in my head bu for a long time ive suspected (at least some of) the big antivirus software of creating the things in the first place, which makes sense why were now starting in the last few years to see so many of adware/spyware/virus for mac. I personally think its split up like this: the virus used by hackers are an actual threat but those are rare, comparatively and mostly kids somewhere in asia (not a stereotype, I've seen it in my job) and all the rest are done by advertising/data collection via corporations, with the vast majority of the do-nothing ones (the ones that seem to me to be made only to slow a system down) that are mostly done by antivirus companies.

I let Defender do its thing when it wants to. It gets good marks from those who evaluate malware and virus utilities. On top of Defender I have Malwarebytes paid version running in the background. I run SuperAntiSpyware once or twice a week to clean up adware/spyware/trackers and other little aggravations that various websites deposit to decide which ads you get. It's surprising how many little ad-based spyware programs accumulate over time to evaluate your browsing habits and preferences.

McAfee SurfSafe is a decent search engine filter that grades your returned links and green lights or red lights results when you search. It's also a resource hog that can bring a browser to its knees.

Oh boy Nascar is getting ready to start, short track punch it hit the brake turn left punch it again for 500 laps. These short tracks are kinda fun to watch. Not high speed but a lot of ticked off drivers with grudges by the end of the race, Restrictor plate racing is like watche\ing the Thunderbirds cause every one is in a big pack, Bristol after a few laps the 43 cars go from one end to the other. 1/2 mile isn't very long.
